What if the hallucination was never the real danger…
What if peace itself became the trap?

Siddharth’s life looks complete from the outside, a stable marriage, a successful career, and the quiet rhythm of everyday normalcy. But beneath that ordinary life, he has been silently battling something far darker for years—
Hallucinations.
Loneliness.

And a dangerous inability to separate memory from reality.
Haunted by visions of Niya, the woman he once loved and lost nearly a decade ago, Siddharth slowly begins slipping into a world where illusion feels safer than truth. Until one impossible day changes everything.

Because this time… Niya returns for real.
The woman he once loved.

But after all these years…
Did he truly find Niya again?
Or did he only find another version of himself lost inside her?

And when a trap begins to feel like peace… how do you escape it without destroying everything around you?

Makes you think...

I really enjoyed Falling Into My Own Trap. Sidharth's journey felt genuine as he struggled to balance ambition, relationships, and the weight of his own decisions. Watching him confront the consequences of the choices he'd made, while trying to figure out who he really wanted to be, kept me turning the pages.

What I liked most was that the book wasn't just about the challenges he faced, but about the personal growth that came from them. It was thoughtful, relatable, and left me reflecting on how easy it is to get caught in our own patterns. A great read, and I'm looking forward to seeing what Kanchan writes next.

“Falling Into My Own Trap” by Kanchann Agarwal is a deeply engaging psychological fiction novel that explores the fragile boundaries between love, memory, and reality. What drew me into the story was how effortlessly the author captured Siddharth's emotional turmoil. On the surface, he appears to have a stable life, but beneath that calm exterior lies years of loneliness, unresolved feelings, and haunting hallucinations. From the very beginning, I found myself invested in his journey, eager to understand what was real and what existed only within the corners of his troubled mind.

One of the strongest aspects of the novel is its emotional depth. Siddharth's struggle with loss, guilt, and emotional dependency feels incredibly authentic. The conversations between him and his psychiatrist were particularly memorable, offering thoughtful insights into his mental state while keeping the narrative grounded and relatable. The author handles sensitive themes with care, allowing readers to experience Siddharth's confusion, hope, fear, and vulnerability without ever making the story feel overwhelming.

The reappearance of Niya adds another fascinating layer to the plot. As old emotions resurface, the story becomes increasingly complex, blurring the line between healing and self-destruction. I appreciated how the suspense was built gradually, with each revelation adding meaning rather than shock value. Just when I felt I understood where the story was heading, the author introduced twists that completely changed my perspective. The balance between psychological tension and emotional storytelling is what makes this novel so compelling.

What stayed with me long after finishing the book was its exploration of how easily people can become trapped by the comfort of familiar emotions, even when those emotions are harmful. The characters feel real, flawed, and deeply human, making their struggles resonate on a personal level. “Falling Into My Own Trap” is more than a story about love; it is a thought-provoking journey through loneliness, healing, and the complexities of the human mind. Readers who enjoy emotional psychological dramas with meaningful twists will find this book both captivating and unforgettable.

Good read!

This book was a good read. There were a few moments where the characters seemed a bit disconnected to me, but that may have been an intentional reflection of the story’s cultural context. The ending was really good and caught me by surprise. Overall, I enjoyed it.

A Gripping Psychological Story That Completely Surprised Me, I picked up Falling Into My Own Trap quite casually after coming across a reel on Instagram, never expecting it to be this gripping. The prologue hooked me instantly, and I found myself completely invested in Siddharth's journey.

Siddharth is one of the most honest and relatable characters I've read in a long time. As the story unfolds, I could feel his emotions, pain, happiness, loneliness, and the constant struggle of carrying burdens he couldn't share with anyone. His internal battles and the thin line between reality and illusion are portrayed beautifully.

What impressed me the most were the unexpected twists. Just when I thought I knew where the story was heading, the author introduced a turn I never saw coming. The suspense builds naturally, and every revelation adds another layer to the story without feeling forced.

Without revealing too much, this is a story about love, loneliness, relationships, guilt, and the complicated workings of the human mind. If you enjoy psychological fiction with emotional depth, relatable characters, and unpredictable twists, Falling Into My Own Trap is definitely worth reading.
The ending will stay with you long after you finish the last page.

I finished reading Falling Into My Own Trap in just three days because I simply could not put it down. From the very first page, the story pulled me into Sidharth’s world and kept me emotionally invested until the end.

The novel follows Sidharth, a man who finds himself completely trapped in the memories and emotions of his past love, Nia. His loneliness often leads him to hallucinate her presence, making it difficult for him to distinguish between what is real and what exists only in his mind. The way the author portrays his emotional struggles is both sensitive and realistic.

One of my favorite aspects of the book was the conversations between Sidharth and his psychiatrist. These discussions are not only emotionally powerful but also filled with logical explanations and relatable examples that help readers understand his mental state. The author beautifully captures the fear, happiness, confusion, frustration, and emptiness that Sidharth experiences throughout his journey.
As the story progresses, there comes a point where imagination and reality begin to collide, leading to a twist that I genuinely did not see coming. The plot is well-crafted, and every event feels natural and believable rather than dramatic or exaggerated.

The characters are deeply human and memorable. Whether it is Sidharth, Nia, or Prerna, each character carries emotional depth and vulnerability. Their pain, hopes, and struggles feel real, allowing readers to connect with them on a personal level. There were several moments in the story that brought tears to my eyes.
What impressed me most was how situational and logical the narrative felt. The emotions are portrayed with honesty, and every incident serves a purpose in the story. This is not just a novel about love; it is a story about loss, loneliness, healing, and the traps our own minds can create.

If you enjoy psychological, emotional storytelling, and unexpected twists, Falling Into My Own Trap is definitely worth reading. A memorable and impactful novel that stays with you long after the final page.

Have you ever found it difficult to separate your imagination from reality? Or wished that the life you imagine could somehow become your reality? Falling Into My Own Trap by Kanchann Agarwal explores this delicate and unsettling space between longing and reality in a hauntingly compelling way.

The story follows Sidharth, a man who appears to have everything one could ask for: a successful career, a caring wife, and a loving daughter. By all appearances, his life is complete. Yet despite having everything he once wanted, he finds himself unable to stop thinking about his ex-girlfriend, Niya. What begins as occasional memories soon turns into something far more confusing when he starts seeing her around him.

But is Niya really there, or is she merely a fragment of his imagination?

With this question begins a psychological tale that is equal parts intriguing and unsettling. As readers, we find ourselves pulled into Sidharth's world, eager to understand what is happening to him while simultaneously questioning the choices he makes. The novel keeps you in a constant state of curiosity, revealing just enough to keep you turning the pages without giving too much away.

The writing is simple yet immersive, with descriptions that add depth and atmosphere to every scene. Sidharth is a particularly well-crafted protagonist. His confusion, emotional turmoil, guilt, and vulnerability are portrayed with authenticity, making him feel deeply human. He is far from perfect, but that is precisely what makes him compelling. His flaws, struggles, and emotional conflicts make him feel like a real person rather than simply a character on a page.

What I appreciated most about this book is how it doesn’t solely rely on twists, it explores desire, memory, regret, and the consequences of becoming trapped in an idealized version of the past. It makes you reflect on how easily the mind can blur the line between what is real and what we wish were real.

Overall, Falling Into My Own Trap is a gripping, thought-provoking, and emotionally layered read. If you enjoy character-driven psychological mysteries that explore the complexities of the human mind, this is definitely a book worth adding to your reading list.

I felt like it took awhile to get going and was very repetitive. I did like the psychological awareness and realness of raw emotion but I felt like there could have been more content.
