Creepin U: Season 2

Operation: Ogre

Rate this book
We’re just friends. Nothing more.

Jaxon

My crush on the hot ogre goalie isn’t going anywhere, but my best friend and roommate, Christopher, is certain that he can help me and Aaron get together. Chris should know; he’s famous on campus for his hook-ups and dates. I’m hesitant about his plan, but I can never say no to Christopher. And then I will be with Aaron, and that’s what I want, right?

Christopher

Jaxon, my shy ogre best friend, needs my help to get Aaron, one of the most popular guys in school. I’ll help him, of course--I’d do anything for Jaxon--but I have no experience with romance besides fictional. So armed with romance books and a foolproof plan, I decide we’ll pretend to date each other to make Aaron jealous. It’s genius and will definitely work! Nothing is going to get in the way of my plan, not my annoying siblings, not my lack of dating experience, and definitely not this odd feeling I have when I see Aaron and Jaxon together.

You are formally readmitted to Creelin University, known locally as “Creepin U.” The only thing wilder than the monsters prowling around the campus are the spicy MM love stories unfolding between the classes. This is a stand-alone romance with an introverted ogre, his mandated extroverted human, friends-to-lovers, fake dating, and lots of feels. This book is intended for adult audiences only.

✨Spoiler free ARC review✨
Operation: Ogre by @marsquinnauthor
5⭐️

We’ve got our roomies turned besties Chris, our soccer (second string) all star human, and Jaxon, our cinnamon roll of an Ogre 🥹

Their friendship!? Literally everything!! Opposites in all the waysss for sure! Where Chris is an extrovert, Jaxon is an introvert through and throughhh.

So when Jaxon finally confesses to Chris he’s got a crush on his teammate and goalie Aaron on his soccer team, Chris is like BET😏

Because on campus Chris is known as a playa playa if you will. He’s here for a good time and not a long time and like, who can blame him? 💁🏽‍♀️

As the bestie he is, Chris is determined to help Jaxon get his happily ever after with Aaron!

Only there’s a lil problem, super tiny, totally nothing major 🫣 Chris actually has no idea what he’s doing and the only ideas he’s got to reference from are his romance books…

Cause the playa playaaa everyone thinks he is is a lie 🤭

But it’s totally fine because he’s come up with the PERFECT solution!! Fake dating. Simple and pureee genius. Get Aaron jealous and he’ll make his move on Jaxon 👀

I think you knoww where this is going 😏

How much can you pretend when feelings start becoming real???

I absolutely LOVED Chris’s siblings Carter and Sam! 🫂

And I loveddd the very real struggles that come with post secondary life and the future and not having everything figured out. Cause that’s scary as hell 😭

But back to our men 🥹

Chris and Jaxon’s love story is out tomorrow! October 16th! Available on KU

This is the last book in the Creepin U: Season 2 series, so be sure to check out the other monsters and human love stories too! 👀

Operation: Ogre is part of the multi author Creepin U Season 2 series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the whole series. This is the story of Jaxon an ogre and Christopher a human. This was a quick read with plenty of spice. I loved both Jaxon and Chris because they were definitely ment for each other. I loved watching these best friends learn that they are perfect for each other and then build a relationship. I loved the other characters and world building that went into this book also. This was a sweet, spicy read for in-between the heavier books. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

This was a sweet and spicy read!

Set in college, I really enjoyed the world they live in. I liked the way it was explained quickly but thoroughly and didn’t linger on it too much.

It’s a quick read without feeling rushed, and dealt with some mental health stuff in a light hearted kind of way.

Friends to lovers is not usually my go to, but every once in awhile you want something sweet! The spice was great, and I loved all the supporting characters.

3/5 ✨

Returning to Creepin U and I’m so excited! I’m kicking this off with Jaxon and Chris! Chris and Jaxon have been inseparable since meeting at Creepin U. Best friends and roommates. When they return from their summer vacation to start the new semester, they are more than happy to see one another. Even with the amount of time they spent together over the summer. And when Jaxon admits to Chris he may like another ogre, Chris is ready to help! Though there are some mixed feelings about it. Chris has a reputation when it comes to romance but the truth is, he has no experience at all. He just can’t escape the lie that started way back in high school. And then there is the fact that there is something bothering him about Jaxon being into someone else. Jaxon may have said he he had a crush, but almost the moment Chris starts to help his crush notice him, Jaxon comes to the realization that the only person’s attention he truly wants is Chris’s. And the moment they kiss? It’s over for both of them. And while Jaxon knows he wants Chris forever, Chris fears losing his best friend. Can they put away their fears long enough to realize that the two of them together is everything they could have ever wanted? So sweet! I adored these two. Truly best friends to lovers. It was clear that these two were meant for one another. I actually love the little twists this took when it came to the fake dating tropes. And that Jaxon was quick to realize who his true feelings were for. A great way for me to kick off this new season of Creepin U! And I’m excited for so much more!

I really enjoyed this!! I found it very cute and bingeable, and was able to finish it in one sitting! while I loved both mc's, Jaxson was definitely still my favourite and I loved how devoted he was to Chris from day 1. I still really enjoyed Chris as a character though! I really liked the anxiety / panic attack rep we got through him, as well as his feelings of being "behind" in life and not knowing what you want your future to be, I just found it all to really add some emotional depth to the story. While this was definitely heavy on the spice, I loved the relationship too much for it to matter much to me. The fantasy elements were also pretty cool! this is the first book I've read in this interconnected series so I was a bit confused just being dropped into it, but didn't feel it took away from the story!

if your looking for a sweet, quick romance read with touches of fantasy I would definitely recommend!

Christopher may have cute aggression, and so do I! OMG this book was adorable. I made the huge mistake of starting this before going to bed, and when I tell you I looked like a zombie next day at work, because this book kept me awake until my eyes couldn’t open anymore.

Christopher and Jaxon are so cute! They’re best friends, Christopher wants to help Jaxon get his crush, yet during that process, they realise they have feelings for each other. They flirt a lot! Jaxon is really jealous and possessive of Christopher, and Christopher starts seeing Jaxon as someone more than his friend, someone he’s really attracted to.

It’s just a very feel good book! I loved it, it’s cute, it’s steamy, they’re afraid of losing their relationship like total idiots because they’re already in love with each other! The story reads like a dream. I WANT MORE!

I absolutely adored this story and these characters from the very first page! Jaxon and Chris are just two wonderful, innocent, sweet souls who don't even realize how much they love each other (until they do!). The fake dating storyline was so well done and played right into the two guys discovering their true feelings for each other.

I especailly appreciated Mars's portayal of Chris's anxiety; it was very relatable, both in how it manifested and in how he denied it for so long. I just wanted to hug him so many times and tell him everything was going to be okay!

The side characters were also stars here, particularly Chris's family - all of them supportive and well developed.

The spice was sweet and hot and just added another wonderful layer to the story.

An excellent read, highly recommend!

This is a story about roommates/friends to lovers/mates. Jaxson is an ogre who is blue and big all over. Chris is a human and was Jaxson’s roommate last year and they became friends. They are rooming together again in their second year at university. This is a sweet story of two friends who find out they have deeper feelings for each other. This is a low angst love story with a HEA. Chris does suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, and Jaxson goes mute around people he doesn’t know if that is a trigger for you. If love stories with little conflict and lots of love, this is the book for you.

We're back to Creepin U. I'm so excited to be there. I have been so obsessed with this series. Like I am ready to enroll at the school just so I can sit on the sidelines with a cup of coffee and watch all the stuff that goes on around me. I enjoyed this author very much I hadn't really read too much by them before so I am excited to go back and find more of their writings. The characters they're just oh they're going to melt your heart you're going to love them and find yourself rooting and yelling and cheering for them. I cannot recommend this series and this book enough you have definitely got to give it a try.

Chris is an adorable loveable character who doesn't seem to realize how he affects everyone around him and Jaxon is just an adorable ogre who wants no one but Chris and when he realizes that things went a little haywire for hin.

This was my first book by Mars Quinn, and I really enjoyed it. I read and enjoyed some of the books from Creepin U season 1, so I was happy when I heard that season 2 was happening. Chris and Jaxon's story was sweet in the way that all the Creepin U stories are. I especially appreciated both Jaxon's plus-sized body positivity and Chris's anxiety representation in the story, as both of those have been part of my life at one time or another. I plan to seek out more stories by this author, as well as the other Creepin U season 2 books.

Cute human x ogre college romance.
Fake boyfriends trope didn't last long before it was dropped in favour of actual dating and feelings. But tbh, when has fake dating ever worked out as planned for the MCs? Most meaningful part of this book was mental health rep, also a plus size character where the size was just a side-note and not a big deal.
Could've been a bit shorter since not much really happened.

Well Jaxon and Chris were just the nicest two friends ever. Neither one of them wanted to ever lose that friendship, but even stronger feelings got involved! I adored that they both supported each other and they both relied on each other. One shy and more social awkward and the other very anxious. I liked they started dating for real, quickly and that the intimacy was quite smoking!
