Hidden Secrets

Rate this book
Allison has come to the small town of Bryansville in search of a fresh start. She is renting a home that has lots of privacy and roaming room for her dog to run. The past few years have been hard for her and all she wants is a new beginning in a new town. When she meets her new neighbor she is immediately attracted to him. He is gorgeous and intriguing; with eyes unlike any she has ever seen before.

Things are looking good, small town privacy, low profile job, sexy men… her new home is all set to be a new kind of paradise until she suddenly finds herself between two fighting wolves with sharp teeth and angry eyes.

Nate sees something in Allison he has never seen before. She is beautiful and enchanting. He can’t help but be fascinated by her. But he has a secret of his own and anyone who finds out is in danger.

Will Nate’s secret be too much for Allison to handle, or will her past be just as dangerous?

Stilted dialogue, disjointed storyline

This story has potential, but only if the dialogue is improved and the story rewritten to be less choppy. There's a real "jump the shark" moment when our heroine drops her bathrobe and invites her neighbor, whom she only met once and recently, to her bedroom. That's followed by a "she's not promiscuous" statement. Speaking of statements, the author engages in a whole lot of "tell" when the story would be much improved by rewriting to show what's going on and why the characters feel and act as they do.

A 2.0 rating is generous. The story is under developed and poorly edited. Characters have potential but the proper amount of time wasn't taken to make this story worthwhile reading.
