A story about what happens when the grid goes down. A family with a will to survive.

AI enhanced drivel

There’s a core of a decent story in here.
It’s buried under 200 pages of extra fluff, excited utterances, and BS drama that feels like the author took a short novella, and ask an AI to stretch it into extra long book.

In terms of story quality the author would’ve been better off with 150-200 pages of tight well crafted story, not the bloated 400+ page work delivered here.
I get that authors are paid per page, so there’s incentive to make the books longer.

It’s not gonna help if it makes the Books crap.
As I read this, there’s 736 reviews at 4.6 stars.
I don’t believe that is real reviews.
After you’ve gotten past the first 10 chapters, you realize it’s not world building that’s slowing things down, it’s just the story is boring. Too many clichés, and trying to hard to write a Hollywood blockbuster screenplay rather than a fun book.

Great story. Very entertaining.

This was a very fast read. The characters were fleshed out really well. I liked the fast action in it. There were lots of guns, explosions, and violence. In retrospect, the story was good but a bit predictable; yet, it worked to make for a very entertaining book. I look forward to reading more from this author.
I recommend this book for a fast-paced, action-packed read.

A great, fast-moving read.

I don’t know Mr. Stone, but he’s my age. Age brings experience. In this story, there’s many subtile tells of lessons learned and trials endured. I appreciate the detail and realism. I also appreciate the lack of vulgarity and profanity often found in modern writing.

EMP SHADOW FALL

Another great book about how to survive when the EMP actually happens, not a conspiracy theorist or even a prepper I just believe it’s going to happen eventually. I’m a realist that’s why I can cook over a campfire and I believe in canning my fruits, veggies and meats. Nothing wrong with being prepared for what might happen!

Chaos Follows EMP Disaster for this Family

This is an interesting story with opportunistic characters who would love to pounce on the troubles an EMP brings to others. A family with its own issues, but melded by love, is in for the fight of their lives along with some good people who are skilled and willing to do bad things for the right reasons. A good read that’s swift moving.

Ok

Pretty good, but I read this immediately after one of his others that was very good, so this one was just okay. Didn't but that the judge and sheriff and so many people cared about this one piece of land. Before the EMP, okay, but right after -- seemed far fetched when most people would be dead in a few months.

A world gone insane, a WV family fighting to remain together

A failed adventure helps spur a retreat home just in time before an EMP upsets the world. An ill man and grown daughters, with a couple friends, facing a world gone crazy. A very good read.

I like reading books about the effects of EMPs and how the world changes. This author is a master at it. Some preppers have things really thought out. Some on the dark side are really going to be ruthless. Let's hope we never have to experience it.

down home feel!

Daddy’s always right. Proof in the pudding! Very heartwarming story. I could see more than a couple spin off books as well. Whiskey is all good when done in the hills!

On the edge

of your seat after the first few pages until the end. They were at the end of a mountain with what was left of the in their entire world. You just never know. And no one tells you.

EMP IS NOT THE END

A page turner. A battle for survival. Demonstrates that individual strength comes from within you. Good verses evil and the age old story of people wanting what others have.

This was a great engaging read. Fast paced and no nonsense in between. The characters weren’t over done. I love stories with twins too. As I have a set

The action was pretty intense, and there were unresolved issues. Where did the Mayor go? I did enjoy the story, but am not ready for another by this author since it was intense.
