Rate this book
He reverse-kidnaps me. Instead of snatching me away, the mafia boss moves into my house. Now he’s renovating to his luxury standards and looking at me like he wants to eat me whole.

I nurse the kingpin’s gunshot wound in the hospital, and when I’m done, he asks me to quit, and work for him instead.

I refuse, and when he threatens to kidnap me, I point out that’s hardly likely to make me be careful when changing his dressings. I think that’s the end. A heart-pounding encounter with an older, powerful, dangerous man.

Until I get back to my house share, and discover he’s bought the entire building and moved in upstairs.

At first, I clean his wounds.

But it’s not long before the kingpin wants more.

“I realised pretty quickly that the things that defined me as man were my decisions. My integrity, my risks, and my judgement.”

Finally a real man
This is him talking about why he choose to be celibate since his early years as an adult
This book has the same formula of her other books but it works and only because of this sentence I was happy
He’s a little hesitant for five minutes but then it’s insta love
Safe book and good sex scenes
No violence

He moved into her life like a threat and stayed like a vow.

Callie is used to caring for people who need her. She’s sweet, stubborn, overworked, and safer when love stays theoretical. Then Reid arrives in her hospital with a gunshot wound, a dangerous reputation, and the kind of attention that makes her feel seen before she’s ready to be wanted.

Reid is older, powerful, and used to getting what he wants. When Callie refuses to leave her life behind, he doesn’t drag her into his world. He moves into hers, turning her house share into something sharper, safer, and impossible to ignore.

At first, she tells herself she’s only tending his wound. But forced proximity strips people down. Between quiet meals, careful hands, bruised histories, and Reid’s need to protect and spoil her, Callie sees the lonely man beneath the violence.

Their connection is fast, intense, and uneven in all the ways that matter. He’s possessive and morally gray. She’s inexperienced but not weak. What starts as a power imbalance turns intimate, dangerous, and hard to walk away from.

Callie grows from guarded caretaker into someone brave enough to want, trust, and choose a dangerous love without losing her softness. Reid shifts from controlling kingpin to devoted partner, letting Callie become his weakness, comfort, and future. Their relationship begins in coercive forced proximity, then deepens into a high-heat bond where control gives way to trust, vulnerability, and devotion.

An ultra-steamy, age gap, instalove, grumpy sunshine mafia romance with forced proximity, reverse kidnapping, praise kink, hurt comfort, caretaker intimacy, possessive devotion, and a morally gray silver fox who falls first and hardest. It’s about control, trust, loneliness, protection, power, sexual awakening, and the strange tenderness that grows in dangerous places.

The Elevator Pitch: A gentle young nurse patches up a wounded mafia kingpin and finds herself pulled into the gravity of a man who mistakes control for care until she becomes the one person he can’t command himself to leave. As danger closes in around them, their forced proximity turns intimate, volatile, and deeply revealing, exposing old wounds neither of them expected the other to touch. What begins as a threat becomes a devotion neither of them knows how to survive without.

Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥 Ultra-Steamy / Erotic Romance

Mafia lite novella w an obsessed mafia boss and his kind-hearted nurse.

Reid 🔫 Callie

Reid and Callie meet one night when he comes to the hospital where she works with a bullet wound. She treats him and he immediately tries to convince her to quit her job and work for him. She refuses, but when she goes home he’s bought her entire building, found housing for her other roommates, and moved in.

It starts w him genuinely only wanting her as his nurse but grows from there. He’s touch averse and she’s the only one who’s been able to touch him without him flinching in at least 10 yrs.

Anyway, they both are drawn to each other. Sexy times, a kidnapping, a dead dad follow. You know, the usual mafia hijinks.

- No third act breakup
- No miscommunication
- Age gap - he’s 40 something and she’s 24. He thinks it s a bigger deal than she does.
- Opposites attract - morally grey mafia boss who’s actually a good guy and gentle kind nurse
- Spice - She’s a virgin bc she can’t stand the thought of a man controlling her; she watched her mom be physically abused by her dad. It’s implied that he hasn’t been w someone for 10 yrs.
- Forced proximity - he’s moves in w her and basically never leaves.
- No OM/OW
- Cute banter
- HEA; married w kids 10 yrs later

The is the safest mafia story I’ve read. It’s sweet to the point of cavity inducing.

3.75 - 4 smut-scale stars!

Ok this was legit so cute. Mafia man gets taken care of by a sweet nurse and mafia man decides he wants her. But she’s stubborn and so he finds a way to get her…

“I want to make you explode because the pleasure shakes you to your core. I want you helpless because you need me to give you release. And though, yes, I would very much like to fuck you senseless in every position you can think of, all my favourites need both my arms more capable than they are right now. So my priority is orgasms for my sweet little nurse.”

By buying the building she’s in and becoming her roommate…obviously. This was sweet, sexy and an all around good time.

Kept by the Kingpin 👩🏼‍⚕️🩺🔫🏘️

This book was so sweet and so much fun!!

I had been feeling like no book was able to truly pull me in, and then I came across a fan art of this couple... and that was all it took to convince me to pick it up. And I'm so glad I did because I absolutely loved it!!

Callie is a nurse at a hospital, and one day she meets Reid after he arrives with a gunshot wound. She patches him up, but before leaving, Reid asks her to come work for him. He hates physical contact with anyone, but somehow she was the exception. Of course, she tells him she can't just quit her job, so what does he do? He buys the building she lives in, moves in himself, and that's how their arrangement begins: she'll take care of his wound until it heals.

But the attraction they felt from the moment they met only keeps growing stronger!!

This book was incredibly sweet. I absolutely adored both of their personalities—they're complete opposites, yet they complement each other perfectly!!

This was short but not as fun as I hoped it would be and a little too OOT on all fronts. The concept of a reverse kidnapping was intriguing but could have used more page-time to really be funny and plot relevant.

**Kept by the Kingpin by Evie Rose** is wildly addictive, deliciously possessive, and the perfect blend of danger, steam, humor, and heart. With a silver fox mafia kingpin who falls first and falls hard, a compassionate nurse who completely unravels him, and one of the most entertaining "reverse kidnapping" plots I've ever read, this book was impossible to put down.

The story centers on 23-year-old Callie Flowers, a dedicated nurse who spends her days caring for others. She's beautiful, smart, hardworking, and genuinely kind-hearted—exactly the type of woman you can't help but root for. When a wounded mafia boss is rushed into her ER with a gunshot wound, Callie simply does her job and treats him like any other patient. What she doesn't realize is that this single act of kindness is about to completely alter the course of both their lives.

Reid Maddox, the 49-year-old Kingpin of Woodford, is everything you'd want in a silver fox mafia hero. Tall, broad-shouldered, tattooed, powerful, and possessing those captivating blue eyes that can command a room with a single glance, Reid is feared by everyone around him. He's wealthy, ruthless when necessary, and used to people obeying him out of fear or obligation. Yet beneath the hardened exterior is a surprisingly lonely man who has spent years keeping everyone at arm's length.

Until Callie.

From the moment she calmly patches up his wound, Reid is captivated. More importantly, he discovers something that shocks him: he can actually tolerate her touch. A man who hates being touched by anyone suddenly finds himself craving Callie's gentle care, her attention, and simply being near her. Reid decides almost immediately that Callie belongs in his life. And honestly, watching him come to that realization is equal parts hilarious, swoony, and completely irresistible.

The "I'll just buy the building and move in upstairs" energy is absolutely chaotic in the best possible way. When Callie turns down his offer to care for him privately, Reid simply finds another solution. Enter the wonderfully ridiculous concept of a reverse kidnapping—a plan that somehow manages to be possessive, protective, and oddly sweet all at once. Only a lovesick mafia kingpin could come up with something so outrageous and somehow make it romantic.

One of the strongest aspects of the novel is the contrast between Callie and Reid. She's young, nurturing, optimistic, and grounded in helping others. He's older, jaded, dangerous, and accustomed to solving problems through power and intimidation. On paper, neither believes they should work. Yet together they create the perfect balance. Callie sees beyond Reid's reputation and recognizes the caring, protective man hidden beneath the kingpin persona. At the same time, Reid becomes completely undone by her warmth and kindness.

What makes their relationship work so well is that Callie softens Reid without ever diminishing who he is. She doesn't change him or try to reform him. Instead, she becomes the one person capable of reaching the vulnerable parts of him that no one else has ever seen. Watching this feared mafia boss become almost ridiculously devoted to a single woman was one of my favorite parts of the story.

And Reid's obsession? Absolutely top-tier mafia romance material.

The man quietly decides that no one else is allowed to care for him but Callie. Every interaction is filled with longing, tension, and possessive devotion. He's protective in that classic "touch her and die" way that mafia romance readers love, but he's also thoughtful, considerate, and surprisingly tender. The hurt-comfort moments throughout the story add so much emotional depth, highlighting how much Callie's care means to a man who has spent most of his life without it.

The chemistry between them is phenomenal. Forced proximity, age-gap tension, praise-filled moments, jealous possessiveness, protective instincts, and enough steam to keep the pages turning all combine to create an intensely satisfying romance. Reid constantly battles between wanting to shield Callie from every danger and wanting all of her attention for himself, which creates exactly the kind of delicious tension readers expect from this genre.

The story also balances its darker themes with plenty of humor, and nowhere is that more apparent than with the beloved Maths Club. What began as a cover story created by another lovestruck mafia man has evolved into one of the most entertaining running jokes in the series. Watching powerful mafia bosses from across London—including Mayfair, Westminster, Edmonton, Norwood, Canary Wharf, and now Reid himself—gather under the wholesome banner of "Maths Club" never stops being funny. Their friendships add warmth and charm that perfectly counterbalance the darker mafia elements.

Equally entertaining is the wives' counterpart group, the London Mafia Smut Club. The contrast between intimidating mafia men discussing "maths" and their wives running a romance-loving book club continues to be one of the sweetest and funniest aspects of the series.

As if the romance wasn't compelling enough, the stakes rise even further when Callie is kidnapped for real. The protective instincts Reid has been struggling to contain explode into full force, and seeing the entire Maths Club rally together to help him get her back was both exciting and heartwarming. It reinforces just how much these characters care for one another and delivers a satisfying emotional payoff before the well-earned happy ending.

Evie Rose once again proves she's exceptionally talented at creating heroes readers obsess over and heroines readers genuinely admire. Reid is possessive, protective, powerful, and completely devoted. Callie is kind without being naïve, strong without losing her compassion, and more than capable of matching the kingpin who falls at her feet.

If you love silver fox mafia bosses, age-gap romance, forced proximity, possessive heroes, morally gray men who fall first and hardest, hurt-comfort moments, found family, protective obsession, and stories filled with equal parts steam, danger, humor, and heart, **Kept by the Kingpin** is an absolute must-read. Dramatic, spicy, emotional, and endlessly binge-worthy, it's a reminder that sometimes the most dangerous men fall the hardest when someone finally shows them genuine kindness.

The London Mafia Syndicate has returned. The Maths Club has a new addition to their series and I couldn't stop reading it. I cracked up. I swooned. I got lost in the romance. It got naughty and intense y'all.😝🌋 The build up, the attraction. That steamy shower.🫢🧖‍♀️🛁🧖🏻‍♂️ I'm jumping ahead of myself here.hehe I had a blast reading Ms Rose's book. I usually do.😉 And you probably will too. I do recommend.

Reid Maddox, 49, is a determined man who makes things happen. Reverse-kidnapping. Oh this man WILL make it happen.lol🫰🏻🫰🏻 He makes sure to dot the i's and cross the t's to get what he wants. Contract: signed, sealed, and delivered. Reid delivers!!!! He's grumpy till she touched him. What is happening?!!!😲 See Reid, doesn't like to be touched. And when she tended to his g*nshot wound, something became very clear to him. Now here's how it's going to go. Reid needs to convince Nurse Callie Flowers, 23, to work for him. Only. Possibly forever.😈😈

Sure, Callie finds him hawtt, I do too😆, and he's surrounded by men with guns in the hospital she works at, that definitely screams danger😳, but Callie stands her ground and her loyalty to her job and herself. She knows what kind of man he is, Kingpin doesn't even describe him, there's soooo much more to Reid. And the fact that he offers her a job as his personal nurse, Callie flat out... refused. She refused him. Do you think this man will accept a NO to his offer?🙊 From her? Better think again.🤨 Not to worry Reid has a plan B, C, D, E, the entire alphabet, to keep Callie by his side.🌹🌹🌹👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨

Now begins the bantering, some bickering, a ton of flirting, dirty talk, and tension as these 2 reach an arrangement of living together.🤭 I told you Reid has a plan. And things are flowing and happening. Those looks that say so much more.😘😘😘 It's getting hot.😅 I love how he lets his guard down with her. He welcomes her into knowing him, not just the business mob side. Reid is very over-protective of Callie, supportive of her in every way, and takes care of her. He's obsessed with her. Like... hungry for her. Num. Num!!! Give me! Give me!!🤣 The man said please. Ohhhhh I love that. Finally a man who's not above asking/begging for his woman. Another reason why I have to read Ms Rose's books. This. This is what a relationship is about. Two adults giving and receiving to each other. Reid has never been in love. But with her, it's all or nothing.😚😚😚🎲🎲

Callie is sassy, bold, and wants this man. She sees the good in him. Her heart is his. She watches over him and his arm.💪🏻🩹🩸She wants to experience everything with Reid. Gahhh. Remember that I mentioned the shower.👅🥵♨️🔥🥵♨️🔥💦🚿 Explosive!!!💣💥🤯💣💥 Ooooo girl! The energy in that room.🎆🎆🎆🎆 I love these 2 characters. There's a little bit of suspense and drama. And the cute epilogue.🐙

I love the book.🥰🥰🥰 I enjoyed it. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Ms Rose did it once again. Grab your copy today. Put it on your TBR pile. Happy reading. *•>§<•*❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Reverse kidnapping. Now there's a new one for me—and it perfectly sets the tone for this delightfully fresh, funny, and utterly swoon-worthy mafia romance. When Callie Flowers, a compassionate nurse, is asked to tend to a patient's wound, she doesn't think twice about it. That is, until she pulls back the hospital curtain and finds herself face-to-face with a grumpy, devastatingly attractive man surrounded by an entourage of equally intimidating men. There’s really only one type of person who ends up in a hospital with that kind of security detail: a mafia kingpin. Yet despite recognizing exactly what he is, Callie treats him with the same calm professionalism she gives every patient. Reid Maddox is the Kingpin of Woodford, and I, for one, couldn't be happier that London has so many boroughs because it means we keep getting introduced to more ridiculously sexy mafia bosses like him. What makes Reid particularly intriguing is that he's a man who hates being touched—until Callie. Determined to keep her close, he offers her a job as his private nurse. However, given the unfortunate fate of the last medical professional in Reid's employ, Callie quite reasonably declines. And when he threatens to kidnap her, she coolly points out that kidnapping her is hardly the best way to convince her to help him get better. Honestly, I loved her for that. Reid, however, is completely enchanted and refuses to let her slip away. Which brings us to the reverse-kidnapping. Instead of hauling Callie off to one of his lavish properties, Reid simply moves into hers. On paper, it sounds absurd. In practice, it works brilliantly. Watching Reid take over the entire building and transform it into Callie's dream home was one of the most entertaining parts of the book. Forced proximity always accelerates reluctant romances, and Reid and Callie are no exception. As they spend more time together, Callie begins to see the softer, more vulnerable side of the feared kingpin, while Reid discovers that Callie is the first person with whom he can truly relax. She sees every part of him, the ruthless mafia boss and the man beneath the reputation, and accepts him as he is. Their chemistry absolutely sizzles, but the emotional heart of the story lies in the quieter moments when their walls begin to crumble. I especially loved how Callie's care became essential to Reid's well-being long after his physical wounds had healed. There's something irresistibly romantic about the way he comes to need her. And Reid's unwavering devotion, that delicious blend of obsession, possessiveness, protectiveness, and complete fixation, was exactly what I want to see in a mafia hero. This is a true opposites-attract romance, and watching these two slowly realize just how perfectly they complement one another was immensely satisfying. As always, Evie brings just enough danger from the darker side of mafia life to keep the stakes high without ever losing sight of the romance. There's tension, drama, and the occasional threat lurking around every corner, but you know the hero will show up when it matters moist—usually backed by the ever-faithful Maths Club—and deliver the happy ending you've been waiting for. Fresh, funny, heartfelt, and packed with swoon-worthy moments, this was another fantastic addition to the series.

Kept by the Kingpin by Evie Rose is wildly addictive, deliciously possessive, and somehow balances dangerous mafia intensity with surprising sweetness underneath all the chaos. Between the silver fox kingpin, the gentle nurse who completely undoes him, and the absolutely unhinged “reverse kidnapping” setup, this book was impossible to stop reading once Reid Maddox decided Callie belonged to him.

And honestly? Reid decides that almost immediately.

Callie Flowers is everything Reid never expected to need — kind, caring, hardworking, and one of the only people who treats him with genuine gentleness instead of fear or obligation. Watching this powerful, tattooed mafia boss become completely obsessed after she patches up his gunshot wound was both hilarious and incredibly swoony.

The “I’ll just buy the building and move in upstairs” energy in this book is absolutely chaotic in the best possible way.

What I loved most was the contrast between Callie and Reid. She’s young, warmhearted, and grounded in caring for others through her work as a nurse. He’s older, hardened, dangerous, and completely unused to someone touching him with actual tenderness. The age-gap dynamic works so well because beneath Reid’s possessive alpha exterior is a man who’s genuinely overwhelmed by how much he wants her care, attention, and presence in his life.

And Reid Maddox? Peak silver fox mafia obsession.

He may be feared by everyone else, but around Callie he becomes almost ridiculously devoted. The fact that he quietly decides no one else is allowed to care for him but her made every interaction between them feel charged with tension and longing. The hurt-comfort moments throughout the story added so much softness beneath the steamier scenes too.

The chemistry absolutely delivers here as well. Forced proximity, praise-filled moments, jealous possessiveness, and Reid’s constant struggle between wanting to protect Callie and wanting to completely consume her attention created exactly the kind of intensity mafia romance readers expect.

I also loved the humor woven throughout the darker themes, especially the London Maths Club scenes. Watching these intimidating mafia men form this strangely wholesome friendship group added so much charm to the story and balanced the darker possessive elements beautifully. And the wives’ “London Mafia Smut Club”? Amazing.

What really made the book stand out, though, was how Callie softens Reid without ever diminishing his intensity. She doesn’t change who he is — she simply becomes the one person capable of reaching the parts of him no one else ever could.

If you love silver fox mafia bosses, possessive obsession, forced proximity, age-gap romance, morally gray men who fall first and hardest, and stories filled with steam, danger, humor, and heart, Kept by the Kingpin is such an entertaining read. Dramatic, spicy, protective, and completely binge-worthy, this romance proves the most dangerous men often fall the hardest when someone finally touches them with kindness.

Kept By The Kingpin by Evie Rose is the 12th installment in the London Mafia Bosses series, and it delivered exactly what I was hoping for—an addictive blend of romance, tension, humor, and mafia-fueled possessiveness. ❤️🔥

From the moment Reid Maddox and Callie crossed paths, I was invested. Reid, a powerful and intimidating mafia boss, ends up under Callie’s care after being injured, and what starts as a routine hospital visit quickly turns into something neither of them expects. For a man who trusts almost no one, Reid’s immediate comfort around Callie catches him completely off guard. When she refuses his offer to work exclusively for him, he refuses to accept defeat and comes up with a plan that only a determined mafia kingpin would consider. 😏🏠

Callie was such an easy character to root for. Her kindness, resilience, and cautious nature made her feel genuine, especially considering the emotional baggage she carries from her past. While the attraction between her and Reid is undeniable, she doesn’t immediately throw caution to the wind, which made their growing connection feel believable and satisfying. 💕✨

Reid, on the other hand, was everything fans of possessive mafia heroes could want. Beneath the tough exterior, ruthless reputation, and morally questionable decisions is a man who slowly discovers that Callie has become far more important to him than he intended. Watching him struggle with unfamiliar emotions while trying to maintain control was both entertaining and surprisingly sweet. 🖤🔥

Their dynamic was one of my favorite parts of the story. The grumpy/sunshine contrast worked beautifully, and the forced proximity created plenty of fun, tension-filled moments. As they spend more time together, their relationship evolves from undeniable attraction into something deeper, though both are hilariously reluctant to admit what’s happening. 😍🙈

The romance is packed with chemistry, steamy scenes, protective instincts, and those irresistible “touch her and regret it” vibes that mafia romance readers love. Alongside the passion, there’s enough drama, danger, and emotional depth to keep the story moving at a steady pace without ever feeling overwhelming. ❤️‍🔥⚔️

What I enjoyed most was how the story balanced Reid’s intense possessiveness with Callie’s warmth and independence. Their relationship never felt one-sided, and their journey toward a happily-ever-after was both entertaining and rewarding. 🥰

Overall, Kept By The Kingpin was a fun, engaging read filled with swoony moments, heartfelt emotions, and a hero who falls much harder than he ever expected. If you enjoy age-gap romance, forced proximity, protective mafia men, grumpy/sunshine pairings, and plenty of spice mixed with tenderness, this book is definitely worth picking up. 📚❤️🔥

I’ll definitely be checking out more books from the London Mafia Bosses series in the future.

I’ll never say no to more members of the Maths Club. Reid was a welcome surprise! He’s…logical. Gentle. At least, compared to the rest of the group! He doesn’t kidnap the woman he’s obsessed with…he just…finds a legal way to move in with her. Wouldn’t want to inconvenience the woman tending to his wounds. Callie didn’t particularly go along with it. But when a man like Reid Maddox “good girls” you within 10 minutes of meeting, your brain probably goes a little fuzzy. There’s home renovating, baking, caretaking, a ball, mafia related activities. All kinds of fun things tucked into this novella! Honestly, I think it’s my favorite of the series!

My Favorite Quotes:
• “It has to be you.”
• “You’re diabolical.” “I’ll take that as a compliment.”
• “You’re going to let me lick you until you scream and come on my tongue.”
• “I want to kneel at your feet and worship your pussy.”
• “I need to make you come.”
• “I was so afraid I’d die without telling you I love you.”
• “I should have kidnapped you properly that first night.”
• “I’m yours. Take me.”
• “Fuck me like you mean it.”

This book is the proof that insta-attraction/obsession can be done well. Even if it’s in a novella setting ! When a lot of writer creates some insta-love/attraction, even though it’s in full length books, that don’t make sense at all !!!

Truthfully I’m a slow burn romance girl through and through but there’s still some insta-love books that got me in a chokehold. And I think that this one ended up really surprising me, in a really good way ! While looking through previous books from this author I realized that I already read another one of her novella, eager housewife. And I really loved that other one even though it was a really fast paced book and with even fewer pages than this one.

I would say that this book is a mafia book, maybe a really light light “dark” romance due to the reverse kidnapping situation going on. But it was a really lighthearted and wholesome read. Don’t expect too much plot or action whilst reading it, the story focuses entirely on the happy future couple.

Even though it was a novella the pacing wasn’t exactly rushed, and even the love story pace was kinda logical regarding the fact that the two MCs started the story as strangers.

The care that the MMC was exhibiting towards our FMC was extremely endearing and you won’t be able to keep yourself from being a little envious about it. He was well-written and believable enough as mafia boss. He was bossy, strong headed but also a softie when it came to the FMC.

The FMC was as good as the MMC !! Sassy, strong headed, extremely caring and kind. Even when she was scared to hold her own, she would still do it, regardless of the consequences which could have befell her.

One of my regrets was obviously the size of the book, I would have loved to read more about the couple. Their past and the challenges they went through after all of this.

I also would have loved it even more if the mafia plot had been more present in the story, and not here as a kind of afterthought.

All in all, a really good novella that will give you all the good feels 🤭

Kept By The Kingpin by Evie Rose is the twelfth title in the author's London Mafia Bosses series and it was a thoroughly entertaining read.
As a steamy, instalove, age gap, forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, mafia romance I was hooked right from the beginning especially with the likeable characters of Reid and Callie.
Silver fox Mafia boss Reid Maddox is in hospital having a gunshot wound treated by caring, sunshiny nurse Callie and realises that she is the only person he can stand to touch him and makes her an offer to come work for him. Despite the generous offer and wariness of men Callie declines the offer but Reid is not to be deterred and plots a workaround seeing him move into her house share so that he can have her care for his wound as a roommate.
Both Callie and Reid experience the spark of connection but Callie's inexperience and childhood drama has her wary of Reid despite the attraction she starts to feel towards him. Whilst Reid as the older, hardened, morally grey mob boss, is completely unused to someone caring for him on such as personal level and with time spent together he's at a loss when he recognises foreign feelings of wanting her care, attention, and presence in his life.
Both characters are smitten by each other and neither acknowledge it but instead initially start exploring a steamy physical situationship whilst remaining in denial as the expiry on Callie's need to care for Reid's injury draws closer.
This was a well paced story with plenty of steam, spice, a bit of action and drama, an unhinged possessive and protective hero with a hidden warm heart for the right woman and hurt/comfort and touch her and die vibes that kept me eagerly turning the pages to see how their well deserved HEA comes about.
I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading other titles from the series when I get the chance.

🩺 Reid & Callie

ARC Review

Kept by the Kingpin by Evie Rose is a ägë-gäp (26 years), insta-lust-to-love, reverse kidnapping ṣëxƴ romance with some darker elements that Evie hasn't really had in her previous stories. (I listed possible TWs at the end of my review). Reid & Callie have some seriously funny & witty banter. This has an over-the-top HEA, sïzzlïng ṣëxy tïmës and an Epilogue that is 10 years ahead. 💕
🤭
“You don’t. There are no vacancies.” “Turned out that was negotiable. We’re roommates,” I say with deliberate emphasis. She splutters. “In the American sense, not the British one,” I add casually, as though I don’t understand the implication I made that we’ll sleep in the same room, not just in the same house. “I guess you’d say we’re housemates, rather than roommates. I’m staying on the top floor.”
🤭
Callie’s a smart girl. She’ll realise her protests are useless, and agree to be kidnapped to a place, rather than in a place. Potatoes, potah-toes.
🤭
“This is basically kidnap, but in my own home.” She says it as though it’s news to me. “A kidnap delivery service.” I didn’t realise an in-place kidnap would be far more fun than taking her to my house. “I didn’t order one,” she points out.
🤭

Callie Flowers is our twenty three year old MFC. Beautiful, curvy smart and a nurse. Who works hard and cares for her patients. And who just happens to be the one to bandage Reid Maddox gunshot wound when he’s rushed into her ER one day? Yep, Callie.
Reid Maddox is our MMC. Forty nine year old, silver fox with captivating blue eyed. Tall, broad shoulders, muscular and tatted up. A Mafia Boss who’s hard and authoritative. The Kingpin Of Woodford. But Callie see’s the kindness and caring in him also. Especially towards her. Realizing quickly no one else is allowed to touch him but her.
He’s decided Callie is going to be the one who takes care of his wound. Even to the clever way of reverse kidnapping her.
She’s young and innocent. He’s older and jaded. They both think it wouldn’t work…until it does. And then Callie is kidnapped for real. And all of Math Club comes to help him get her back. Ends with a happy ending. Highly suggest for a good read.
Now, Maths Club, developed from the reasoning of a love sick mafia man. Reason, to keep his secret life secret from his wife. Now all the Mafia Men Mayfair, Westminster, Edmonton, Norwood, and even Canary Wharf calls themselves The Maths Club. A hilarious seed that has matured through out this series. I love its sweetness! And now Reid is included. And Callie is in The London Mafia Smut Club. The book club the wives came up with. Loved!.

Another hilarious London Maths Club delight! This story was about the Kingpin of Wolford, Reid Maddox, an older man who was grumpy, touch adverse, and utterly gobsmacked when he met Callie, his younger, virginal, ray of sunshine nurse while she helped care for his gunshot wound. Callie was the only person who was able to touch Reid, so Reid tried to hire her to be his personal nurse and she refused, no matter what he offered. Callie told him she would only take care of her roommates, so what did he do? He became her roommate in the most ridiculous way.

Kept by the Kingpin is a literary treat by the always amazing Evie Rose. The plot, the pacing, the world building, and the character development are all excellent. The spicy scenes were smoking hot. The emotional connection between the MCs deep. There was violence, but that was to be expected with a mafia story. My favorite scenes in the book were with the London Maths Club. I can never get enough of those scenes and the banter between the mafia bosses. Do yourself a favor and read this excellent book.
