Before she became a USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling romantic comedy author, she was a young military spouse who got into writing as self-therapy. That happened around the time she discovered reading romance novels, and the two eventually merged into a career. Today, she has more than 30 knee-slapping Pippa Grant titles and nine published under the name Jamie Farrell.
When she’s not writing romantic comedies, she’s fumbling through being a mom, wife, and mountain woman, and sometimes tries to find hobbies. Her crowning achievement? Having impeccable timing for telling stories that will make people snort beverages out of their noses. Consider yourself warned.
This was such a fun and heartwarming read! I loved the unique concept of a winery that serves as a safe haven for women who have gone viral online and need a place to escape the spotlight, heal, and start over. It was such a refreshing take on the “found family” trope, and I loved getting to know all of the women who called the winery home.
Ginny was a wonderful FMC. She grew up as a child star in a family reality show. And after going viral later as an adult as “The Wedding Wrecker,” she has been hiding away at the closed winery, trying to rebuild her life away from the judgment and attention of the internet. I really enjoyed watching her find her confidence again and learn that she doesn’t have to hide who she really is.
Declan was such a great MMC. As a retired hockey star and Ginny’s ex’s best friend, he could have easily been complicated in all the wrong ways, but instead he was attentive, kind, and genuinely supportive. I loved watching his and Ginny’s relationship develop. Their history made things messy, but they worked through the complications and found a way to make things work.
One of my favorite parts of the book was Ginny’s friendships with the other women at the winery. Their bond, support, and loyalty to each other really brought the story to life. And of course, I can’t forget Flow the dog! She was an absolute delight and stole every scene she was in!
This was my first book by Pippa Grant and my first book in this series, even though it’s technically the second book. I had no trouble jumping into the story, but I’m definitely going back to read the first book soon!
Thank you to Pippa Grant for providing me with an ARC and ALC of this book. I had such a great time reading it!
If there is one thing I know, it’s that Pippa Grant is always going to give me a book I can laugh with & characters I will absolutely love! This one was no different!!
I was lucky enough to receive the audio for this book & it was perfect!! Connor Crais, Samantha Brentmoor, & the rest of the full cast just brought so much humor and emotion to this story!!
This series has had the best found family & friend group! I have just been loving these characters. Book 1 was so good, but I think I loved this one even more!! Ginny & Declan just had my heart from the beginning! Both in the spotlight of social media, but for very different reasons. Ginny is struggling with her past as a child star & also a very viral moment gone wrong. Declan is our former hockey star focused on filming a documentary for the town winery.
These two definitely have a past & not one in the best light, but knowing how many feelings Declan harbored for Ginny & watching it all unfold from the enemies to lovers vibes just absolutely had me swooning! These two had so much banter & chemistry together!! & boy did the heat between them spice up this book!!
If you’re looking for a rom com that will have you swooning, cackling, and falling head over heels in love with so many of the characters, this is definitely for you!! I have absolutely loved this series so far & I definitely recommend!!
Thank you Pippa Grant for the early copies of this book!!
Declan is the best friend of Ginny's ex boyfriend. He's always been so rude to her and seemed like he hated her. But little does she know, that's completely wrong. When Declan ends up filming a documentary at the winery she's living at, she gets to see the side of him she's never seen before. He is a total green flag and I seriously adored him. He was protective, attentive and so incredibly supportive of Ginny. The character growth in Ginny was beautiful. After being humiliated time and time again, I loved seeing her get her confidence back and Declan was by her side every step of the way. These two had some undeniable chemistry and I was seriously invested in their relationship.
I absolutely love this little found family. They're so loyal & protective of each other and it really is just so sweet. I've said it before but Pippa Grant is a rom-com queen so you know this book isn't short on humor! My goodness, I am seriously loving this series so much.
🎧 This was a full cast narration with Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais as Ginny & Declan. Then we also had Stella Hunter & Kristyna Zaharek who voiced multiple side characters. Let me tell you... this is a TALENTED cast of narrators. Like, they were all amazing. This audiobook was a complete experience and I absolutely devoured it.
Thank you to Pippa Grant & team for this e-ARC/ALC. All opinions are my own.
Thank you to Pippa for providing me with an early copy of the ebook and audiobook!
Pippa is quickly becoming one of those authors whose books I know will make me smile, laugh, and leave me feeling good by the end, and this book was no exception.
I had so much fun with this story! The full cast audiobook was fantastic, and I highly recommend doing an immersive read if you can, it made the experience even more enjoyable.
One of my favorite parts was Declan. He spent so much of his life feeling like the backup plan or an afterthought, so it was incredibly satisfying to watch him realize he deserved to be someone's first choice. I also loved seeing him and Ginny reconnect. As Ginny tried to move forward from the public image that had followed her for years, Declan became someone she could lean on and encouraged her to stop letting the opinions of strangers define her.
The romance was sweet, funny, and easy to root for, and I loved the found family feel at the winery and the strong female friendships throughout the story.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Ok this was such an amazing book and I was sneaking reading time whenever I could! It was so hard to put down cause I was rooting so hard for the characters to figure out their lives and be happy! The continuing story of the winery opening was so fun to continue seeing and I’m so excited for the next book to see how it continues!
Best part of the book was Flow and her caring personality 💕
*Thank you to Pippa Grant for providing me an ARC, I greatly appreciate it.
We’re once again back with the ladies who accidentally went famous through viral videos, and led them to living in the peaceful and warm home in Sonoma. With a variety of unique individuals from the matriarch, Pip, a.k.a. the nudist and Mabel’s aunt, this story had all kinds of lovable characters who brought laughter and warmth to the story yet again. With Ginny, our other resident living in Pip’s grand pink home, she was subjected to constant judgement from her past of being a former child reality tv star. Then there was, Declan, a retired hockey player now a documentarian wanting to film the process as the ladies got their wine business off the ground. Although, with Declan being Ginny’s ex’s best friend, and one of the people who in real time witnessed her unfortunate viral moment, it wasn’t something Ginny was too happy about. Plenty more ridiculous moments, shenanigans, crazy chicken attacks, a cute furry doggy friend, the lovable found family, and more, this was a lighthearted and entertaining read.
With Pippa Grant, she never fails to amaze me with the funny, laugh out loud shenanigans she comes up with. Pip was once again causing her own special kind of havoc, and with everyone trying to make the best out of Declan filming on the premises of their home, it made Ginny feel on edge, but tried to put her fears aside for the sake of her found family.
As you can imagine, the process of Declan filming his time with the ladies as the worked on their wine business had its funny moments, but also had him back in Ginny’s life. With Declan once being so mean and stand-offish when Ginny dated Declan’s best friend, Alex, he was mean to her because…HE LIKED HER! Now, being back around Ginny, Declan was very much still head over heels for her, and even more so with all the things he still saw in her despite the years that had passed them. Declan was so down bad for Ginny that he knew exactly the types of food she would want in certain situations that made her happy, to knowing how much she really loved his dog to provide her additional comfort, to knowing the deep pain Ginny suffered from her horrible excuse of a mom. Declan was very aware of Ginny and this time around, he made sure to let her know he wasn’t the man he use to pretend to be around her. In fact, Declan went through this story showing little by little how much he liked her and understood her very well.
Ginny was already a favorite of mine since the first book, and I liked her even more in this one. Ginny had a lot to her backstory that cleared up things such as, how bad the reality tv show her mom made her and her siblings be part of growing up negatively affected Ginny all throughout her life. Not to mention, Ginny still had to deal with people bringing up her past due to it coming back up in the news. I felt bad for Ginny because, it wasn’t her fault she was told to do things for the sake of ratings or how horrible of a mother her mom was to her and still was in this book. Getting to see Ginny’s side of the story made me realize how much she was still working through some of her insecurities and people pleasing tendencies. Although, when Declan came back into her life, he made sure to provide her a safe place and honestly give her the ability to speak her mind when in the past she wouldn’t and just do whatever her partner or someone wanted instead.
Overall, a funny, cute, lovable story that once again shows how hilarious Pippa Grant’s stories are and her characters are a unique lovable bunch! Can’t wait to read the next book especially with the little tid bits we got in this story ;)
“Our pasts make us who we are. And we get to choose how we let that influence us.”
While You Were Trending, the second book in the Accidentally Infamous series, was every bit as delightful and entertaining as the first. Filled with humor, heart, and plenty of swoon-worthy moments, this enemies-to-lovers romance kept me hooked from beginning to end.
Ginny became an internet sensation after crashing her ex-boyfriend’s wedding. When Declan, her ex’s best friend, is assigned to feature the winery she’s taken refuge at on his popular podcast, Ginny is determined to keep her distance from the man she’s always believed disliked her. What she doesn’t realize is that Declan’s apparent animosity has always been a carefully guarded cover for feelings he’s been harboring for years.
I absolutely adored both Ginny and Declan. Ginny’s journey was especially compelling. Having endured a tumultuous childhood with a narcissistic mother, navigated the pressures of being a former child star, and dealt with the fallout of an embarrassing viral moment that refuses to fade away, she struggles to find confidence and stability in her life. Watching Declan finally reveal his true feelings was incredibly rewarding because he became exactly the kind of support she needed. He constantly reminded her of her worth, encouraged her to believe in herself, and helped her see the kind, genuine, and remarkable person she truly is.
Declan was just as easy to love. Beneath his confidence, he carried a deep-seated belief that he was always second choice, never quite measuring up to the people and priorities around him. Ginny helped heal those insecurities by showing him that he was more than enough and, most importantly, that he was her first choice. Their emotional growth together felt authentic and made their romance all the more satisfying.
One of my favorite aspects of the book was the chemistry between Ginny and Declan. Their snarky, flirtatious banter was endlessly entertaining, balancing laugh-out-loud moments with genuine emotional depth. The quirky cast of returning characters from the first book added even more charm and humor to the story, and Declan’s adorable dog completely stole the show whenever he appeared. Together, these elements created a warm, vibrant world that was a joy to revisit.
I alternated between reading and listening to the audiobook, and the narration elevated an already wonderful story. Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor delivered outstanding performances as Declan and Ginny, perfectly capturing their personalities, emotions, and undeniable chemistry. The supporting narrators also did an excellent job bringing the larger cast to life. Their performances added depth, humor, and heart to the story, making the audiobook an immersive and engaging experience that left me loving the book even more.
Overall, While You Were Trending is a charming, heartfelt, and thoroughly entertaining romance filled with lovable characters, emotional growth, sparkling banter, and plenty of laughs. It’s a wonderful addition to the Accidentally Infamous series and one that left me smiling long after I finished.
While You Were Trending has the greenest green MC in the history of MC's that I've ever read. He's adorable, he's sweet, he's everything perfect, except for the four years of Ginny's life that we won't discuss,😏 aside from that Declan Fox is the foxiest dreamboat. 🥰💜
Declan Fox is at the winery to film the reopening to help them, while also not realizing he's invading the sanctuary where Ginny Rhodes lives. You see, Declan is majorly head over heels in love with Ginny, but only he knows it. He's kept this secret for years and when she vanished after her viral moment, he didn't know where to even look, not that he even would, given that she dated his best friend and made his wedding a viral moment too.
Yes, it's a conundrum of mixed feelings, which opens right back up again the moment he sees Ginny. The biggest feeling is that he's never forgotten her, nor has he ever stopped loving her.🥹
Declan is majorly into Ginny for the entire book, but Ginny...Ginny takes a bit to open herself up to anything. While Ginny has been living on the compound for four years, she's basically been hiding away, happier to see other people healing than dealing with her own trauma. 🥺 Sweet Ginny, but don't worry too much, her time has arrived.😍
Declan may be all in with Ginny from the start, but more than anything he wants her to find happiness. Whatever shape or form that can be, even without him, he wants that for her. I loved Declan and his sweet, selfless nature from the beginning. His constant inner thoughts were so endearing and it just made me love him more whenever they popped up. I mean this man has been in love with Ginny for years so it's horribly sweet how much he held back just to make her comfortable. 🥰
On the flip slide, Ginny starts out and doesn't want Declan around because she associates all the awful memories every time she sees him. In a nutshell; Ginny went viral for trying to stop her ex's wedding and to say it went horribly wrong is an understatement. Her ex is in the NHL, but add in that Ginny herself was a childhood reality TV star and that made the incident go even more viral. Now it doesn't take much to send Ginny into a panic, but none more so than seeing her ex's best friend, Declan Fox. The man who stood by when the viral incident happened and who also made her life miserable for years while she dated her ex. I know I said Declan is a green flag, but the man had his reasons...trust me.🙏
It takes a bit for Ginny to finally open up and give him a chance, but once she does these two are sweet like chocolate chip cookies, but splashed with a sprinkle of chili pepper to give them a bite of spice. Essentially they were perfect! ❤️
Heath, Cricket, Lavender. Aunt Pip, etc..., even Mabel who loves to turn her terrifying glare on anyone who crosses her path or gets in the way are all back. Even Ten, who seems to be immune to Mabel and her glare, which is a puzzle that I can't wait to solve. 😂 While You Were Trending is another fun, healing, and brilliant romcom that just shouldn't be missed.
Pippa is bringing us back to Makepeace Cellars while also colliding that world with other parts of the Pippaverse! That's right- there will be mentions of and sightings of MANY fabulous Pippa characters.
While You Were Trending is the second book in the Accidentally Infamous series and this is a series that, in my opinion, will definitely need to be read in order- there are just so many characters and running plotlines that you just won't get the same enjoyment if you are trying to piece together things from previous stories.
Ginny Rhodes has been at Makepeace Cellars for the last 4 years, hiding out after growing up as the "brat" child on a reality TV show and then infamously knocking out her 2 front teeth while trying to stop her ex's wedding. Enter Declan Fox- her ex's best friend and the guy that is making a documentary about her found family as they begin the journey to reopen their winery.
Like You've Got Hate Mail the found family and girl gang vibes in this book are phenomenal. Mabel continues to be the mama bear of the group but everyone is there to rally for Ginny. Including Declan- much to Ginny's dismay. I love Ginny's sweetness- the way that she continues to find a way to be helpful to everyone around her- a trait that is explored in more detail especially where her mother is concerned- but I absolutely love this feistier side of her that starts to peek out. And you know who else loved it? Declan.
I was a little thrown off by Declan at first- who apparently was always very dismissive and rude to Ginny while she was with her ex, because he liked her. Sure they were college age at the time but it felt a little extreme with the way he treated her. But now even knowing that it would be better to keep his distance, Declan can't help but be drawn to Ginny. I love the protective side of him that comes out but also the way that these two fit together so perfectly once they both lower their walls.
This is a definite slower burn of a story which is absolutely perfect for both of these characters as they come to terms with their past and the idea of a future. I'm in love with the characters of this story and the way that they uplift and care for one another unconditionally and without judgement. The idea that that right person will love you for exactly who you are, they'll see the real you past your insecurities and flaws.
I absolutely cannot wait for Mabel's book- and to figure out just why she and Ten cannot get along and I just know that all that angry tension is just going to explode in all the right ways!
(4.25 stars) Thank you so much to Pippa Grant for the chance to read (and listen to!) an advance copy of While You Were Trending, due to be published on August 11. As always with Pippa’s books, there are a lot of laughs, a lot of spice, and some serious topics covered along the way. Seriously, if Pippa Grant writes it, I will line up to read it.
In this book, the second in the Accidentally Infamous series, we are back at Makepeace Cellars in California, which serves as a home, temporary or otherwise, for people, mainly women, who have gone viral in a bad way. This time the story features Ginny, who had been a reluctant reality star as a child and teen, dragged around the country with her two older siblings by her narcissistic mother. She was always the butt on the jokes in the tv show, and has tried to outlive her unearned reputation as she matured. However, she went viral in a different way when she (“under the influence”) tried to stop her ex’s wedding. And she’s been living at Makepeace ever since, trying to stay off the world’s radar. Then Declan Fox shows up to make a documentary about the vineyard, which is trying to get back on its feet (long story, not for here). He has a following for his videos, Foxy Goes There. Declan was Ginny’s ex’s best friend and had a thing for Ginny, but covered it up by being “not nice” to Ginny (the author uses a more vulgar term for his behavior). He’s also a former professional hockey player (as is her ex, Alex) and those two are still best friends. Complicated situation!
Declan is a real sweetheart, however, and wants to make amends with Ginny, and more, although he’s pretty sure that one’s not a possibility. And he brings along his dog, Flow, who charms everyone, but remembers Ginny and adores her. It’s mutual. Flow gives Fluffy, the resident cat, a run for favorite animal in a book!
It was fun to revisit the various people living at Makepeace, including Pip, the 85-year-old woman who owns what’s left of the winery. She is a hoot!
Told in dual points of view, from Ginny and from Declan, the story unfolds as we get inside both of their heads. The audiobook narration is amazing, with true duet narration by Samantha Brentmoor, Connor Crais, Kristyna Zaharek, and Stella Hunter
Here are some tropes you can expect: 😡 Enemies to lovers 🏒 Ex-hockey player 🙅♀️Best friend's ex ⛺️Forced proximity ⏳Starting over 🥰 He's always loved her 👯♀️Female friendship goals
NOTE: There’s a bunch of spice as well as a lot of four-letter words sprinkled throughout.
While You Were Trending Accidentally Infamous, Book 2 By: Pippa Grant Narrated by: Samantha Brentmoor, Connor Crais, Kristina Zaharek, Stella Hunter,
Pippa Grant brings you back to the hideaway, a winery where those who went viral on social media for all the wrong reasons want to ride out the trend off the grid. This second book of the “Accidentally Infamous” series is Ginny Rhodes and Declan Fox’s story, and wow, what a story it is, one filled with plenty of laughs, lots of heart, and heat too. Ginny’s viral moment occurred at her ex’s wedding, something she will never live down, and her toxic mother complicates matters even more. Ginny has been staying at the winery for four years, and knowing it is in trouble financially, will do what she can to help. Including having to see her ex’s best friend, Declan Fox, a retired hockey player turned documentarian, who hates her, but is here to do an interest piece on the winery. Except Declan never really hated her, he behaved badly towards her back then because he felt otherwise and wanted to push her away. He is still good friends with her ex, but will that stop him from trying to have a chance with her, if she will even give him that chance. I thought these two were great together and for each other, and enjoyed watching everything unfold and seeing their relationship grow into something so much more, not without bumps in the road, but so worth the ride. Grant never disappoints with her masterfully crafted stories, multi-layered stories that are entertaining and have the perfect balance of drama, just a touch of angst, charming humor, witty dialogue, heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance.
🎧📚🎧 Another amazing audiobook listen and multi-cast production performed in duet by a wonderfully talented and entertaining cast led by Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais as the two leads, Ginny and Declan, with Kristina Zaharek and Stella Hunter covering various side/secondary characters, including reprising their roles from the first book. All did an incredible job voicing their characters and were believable in every role. They handled the witty dialogue and banter effortlessly, landing the humor naturally without missing a beat. Their expressive delivery conveys all the characters’ emotions and has you feeling each one. Grant chose the perfect cast to bring her characters and story to life, and their captivating performance not only keeps you hooked, but it takes the already amazing story to another level.
Pippa Grant never fails to make me laugh and she has done it again with this book. I swear she gets funnier with every single book she writes, and While You Were Trending has officially become one of my favorite books in this series. Considering how much I already love her books, that's saying something.
This story follows Ginny, the disgraced ex-girlfriend of Declan's best friend, Alex. After going viral for all the wrong reasons, Ginny escapes to the winery, a safe haven for people whose lives have been turned upside down by the internet. If you've read You've Got Hate Mail, you'll already know a little about this special place, and I loved getting to spend even more time there. Alex has loved Ginny for years, but because she was his best friend's girlfriend, he never allowed himself to cross that line. Watching these two finally get their chance had me smiling from beginning to end.
What I love most about Pippa's books is that the humor never feels forced. It just keeps coming, and somehow it gets funnier with every chapter. Between the ridiculously clever wine names, Declan's hilarious inner monologue whenever complete chaos breaks out, the spider incident (I was literally laughing so hard I almost spit out my drink!), and Fluffy's unforgettable car scene, I was giggling and kicking my feet through so much of this book. There were so many moments that had me laughing out loud, and honestly, they're best experienced without spoilers. You'll just have to pick this one up for yourself!
The audiobook was everything I hoped it would be. Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais are some of my favorite narrators, and they absolutely nailed these characters. Their performances balanced the comedy and emotional moments perfectly, making every laugh land and every heartfelt scene hit just a little harder. Krystyna Zaharek and Stella Hunter also added wonderful supporting performances that helped round out the cast and made the audiobook feel even more immersive. Together, the four of them delivered an experience that was every bit as entertaining as the story itself.
If you're looking for a romantic comedy that will make you laugh until your stomach hurts while still delivering all the feels, While You Were Trending needs to be on your TBR. Pippa Grant continues to prove she's the queen of rom-coms, and I already can't wait to see what she gives us next.
I have been so excited for While You Were Trending ever since I finished the first book in the Accidentally Infamous series. This series about people going viral for all the wrong reasons, finding a supportive community/family, and learning to trust and love again in a hilarious, heartfelt, and steamy way is everything I love to read! Ginny was a child reality star who was a late bloomer, and always portrayed as the troublemaker, which followed her into adulthood when she went viral for disrupting her ex's wedding. Now she has found a home and sisterhood at the winery and is working hard to make it successful. They hired a documentarian and ex hockey player, Declan, who is also her ex's best friend, to help make the winery profitable. Declan always had a crush on Ginny, but he was rude to her so he wouldn't cross a line and lose his best friend and her. Now he has a second chance to make things right with Ginny and maybe make her fall for him as well. Ginny has been taken advantage of for so long, she finds it hard to trust Declan. The more time they spend together, the more they fall for who they are today. Just as they find their way to each other, Declan gets his dream call to return to the NHL again. Will their fragile new love survive them being states away, to follow both their dreams? This unique and refreshing romance is filled with laugh out loud situations, quick witted banter, heartwarming and heartbreaking moments, and lots of slow burn sizzling passion! I loved how Ginny and Declan worked through their past, appreciated each other's quirks and flaws, and made each other stronger. I loved how Ginny took ownership of her actions as she selflessly cared for those she loved. Declan was so sweet and attentive as he supported Ginny in all her chaos, making her feel worthy of love, and discovering his worth as well. The narration by Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor, with cameos by Stella Hunter and Kristyna Zaharek was brilliant! They portray each character with a perfect balance between fun & flirty, heartbreaking emotion, and sizzling passion flawlessly. This was such a fun listen as I laughed out loud, more than once, at their hilarious banter and awkward situations. There is so much to love about this delightful, tender, and steamy romance and is the perfect all-round rom-com to get lost in!
Thank you so much Pippa Grant for sending me this ARC!
While You Were Trending is the second Romance book in a series of interconnected standalones and it was amazing, I loved Ginny and Declan’s story!
After going viral a few years ago for ruining her ex’s wedding, Ginny lives in a commune of woman who have gone through similar situations. When Declan, her ex’s best friend, arrives there to film a documentary, she decides to avoid him, but he is different from what she remembers and when it turns out he has liked her all those years, denying their attraction proves impossible.
I always know I’m going to have a great time when I start one of Pippa’s books and this one was no exception, I was excited to know Ginny’s story from the crumbs we got in the previous book and it was even better than i expected. I loved the idea of a commune of women where every one of them had gone viral for one thing or another, they made such a beautiful found family where everyone supported each other and was willing to help no matter what, it was a unique and amazing idea and I loved that and can’t wait to read more stories about them. Ginny was an amazing FMC, she has gone through a lot in her life, but was really strong and I loved seeing her embrace her past, she grew a lot in this book and I really liked her. Declan was such a green flag, he might have been awful to Ginny in the past but he had his reasons and the pining and yearning here was written perfectly, he was so down bad for her and it was amazing to read about, especially how he became a safe place for Ginny. He definitely fell first, with Ginny hating him in the beginning, but there was a lot of tension between them and their slow burn romance was beautiful, the way they supported each other and how Ginny was able to heal after her past, their banter was great and so were the spicy scenes. And of course I adored Flow, Declan’s dog, she was such a perfect addition to this story and made it even better, I loved her.
While You Were Trending is an amazing book, I loved it and definitely recommend it to everyone, same with all of Pippa’s books. I already can’t wait for the next one!
No matter the setting or the storyline, I can always count on Pippa Grant to write a rom-com that will make me laugh and swoon at the same time. “While You Were Trending” is a flirty, heartfelt and swoony enemy-ish to lovers, small town, found family romance that was a perfect summer story.
It’s been four years since her viral moment but Ginny can’t seem to get away from that moment. She grew up in front of the camera since her mother had them on a reality show but the spotlight is the last thing she wants. Ginny has been hiding at the winery and the funds are desperately needed to keep it open. And she, with the others, agreed to a documentary to help with the funds. And her ex’s best friend, Declan Fox, is the head documentarian. Declan is a different man than he was four years ago but one thing still remains the same from back then, he’s always loved Ginny. Now they’re in the same area, Ginny sees him in a different light.
I have loved the concept of this series and I’m so glad we got another book for it. Ginny is kind, sweet and has had it rough ever since her viral moment. But her being at the winery is what she needed with the women there that will watch over and protect her. Declan is genuine, smart and I loved how down bad he’s been with Ginny. That man was all about her from the beginning but kept his distance while she was with his best friend. He’s also a retired hockey player so that adds something extra to him too. The years apart did him good and he’s a new person being away from the ink. Ginny and Declan had great banter and I loved the chemistry they had that was lying underneath. Declan was patient with Ginny and never rushed her so she knew that his feelings were genuine. As with every Pippa Grant book, the animals that are written into the storyline are great and Flow the Dog was so perfect. And I loved her bonus epilogue at the end. The ending was perfect and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Pippa Grant is taking us back to Makepeace Vineyards for her second installment in the Accidentally Infamous series!!! This time we've got Ginny, a child reality star who went viral for crashing her ex's wedding, and Declan, the retired hockey player and current reality star who's making a documentary about the reopening of the winery. He's also her ex's best friend who has treated her horribly since the day they met. And he's been secretly in love with her just as long.
After years at the vineyard, Ginny is finally in a good place. She's out of the spotlight, she has meaningful female friendships, she's using her marketing experience to help with the winery, and she's, for the most part, dealt with her childhood trauma. But in comes Declan, and she expects him to be a jerk to her, but he's not. All of a sudden, he's kind, caring, protective, and charming - everything he wasn't while she wasn't when she dated his bestie. She finds out that his asshole-ish ways were just a ruse to keep his best friend from realizing he loved her.
There's so much to this story - Ginny overcoming her need to people please, Declan feeling like he is always second best and never anyone's first choice, Ginny's mom - the true villain in the story, and then the fact that Ginny's ex still hates her for what she did and Declan doesn't know how to admit to him that they're now together. It's a lot.
But these two are just great together! They both really see each other and value each other as people - not just for what they can give or take from the other, which has been both of their unfortunate past realities. There were definite moments of hilarity (scenes with Declan's drag queen brother come to mind), but there were just as many moments of genuine tenderness. I'm absolutely loving this series - the individual couples AND the overarching plot of the winery opening. Such a great cast of characters and I can't wait to see what happens next!
I loved this return to Makepeace Cellars winery and the wonderful, quirky, big-hearted women who live there. They all came there to recover after making mistakes that were seen by millions of people, and they stayed because they fit.
Ginny is internet famous for crashing her ex-boyfriend’s wedding. She’s recovering with this group of women who have become her found family and give her so much support, love, and encouragement. Things take a turn when Declan, her ex’s best friend, shows up to film a documentary about their efforts to start the winery up again. He wasn’t a fan of Ginny’s even before their breakup – or so Ginny always thought. The reality is that he had a crush on her but handled it in the worst way. The more time they spend together, the more she sees that he’s not the jerk she thought he was. As he keeps showing up for her, she finds that he’s steady, kind, protective, and makes her feel safe. In a word, he’s her hero. I loved Declan’s patience as he waited for her to see his true colors, Ginny’s growing confidence, his adorable dog, and the wonderful way they change from enemies to lovers.
I really enjoyed the duet narration by this talented cast. Connor Crais portrays Declan with just the right amount of determination, deep adoration, and anguish over how his feelings for her will affect his relationship with Alex. Samantha Brentmoor was amazing, as always. She exudes the apprehension mixed with longing that consumes Ginny as her feelings for Declan grow. She makes us truly feel Ginny’s fear and feelings of not being worthy, while gradually building her confidence and bravery. Stella Hunter and Krystina Zaharek were also stellar as some of the wonderful side characters. This story is inspiring, witty, steamy, and so heartfelt. It should not be missed!
Well, Pippa Grant does it again. This is an absolutely fabulous book depicting the perils of social media trending. Ginny Rhodes became famous for a second time, the first as a child star on a reality TV show and secondly when she tried to stop her ex's wedding just a short time after they split. The resulting video capturing the subsequent trip that gave her black eyes went viral, and her new moniker was "The Wedding Wrecker". Declan Rhodes watched the disaster as it happened, wanting to help, but it was his best friend's wedding, and Ginny was the girl he had a crush on but had always treated with disdain, not wanting anyone to know his feelings. Needing refuge from the internet storm, she finds herself at a closed winery with women and one man who each have dealt with their own internet notoriety. Declan is now a retired hockey player who has dealt with the disappointment of coming second all his life. He has found renewed fame with his internet account filming him doing different activities, and his next event is to help save the new winery where Ginny now lives. Ginny's sister is marrying her famous fiancé, and Declan just happens to arrive the day of the wedding. After an incident with Pip and Ginny's mother, a narcissist who managed Ginny and her siblings' child star money and used it all, she is sent packing by the farm's chickens. This whole scene is hilarious. Declan tries to show Ginny how he has always felt, but of course he has his work cut out. Mabel and Heath are keeping an eye on him as they are protective of Ginny. White envelopes with large amounts of money start turning up in unexpected places throughout the farm. It goes to help with the farm's debt. Everyone thinks it's Declan, but he denies it. Eventually, the culprit is revealed, and it's not expected. When the video goes viral again, Declan has been offered an ice hockey contract and is training with them. There are also hints that Declan is now in a relationship with Ginny. Declan rushes back to be with Ginny, but she has decided she will stop all the nonsense and apologise to her ex; at the same time, she tells her mother just what she thinks of her and to leave them alone. Declan plays a game against his old team, and his best friend plays for them. In the dying minutes, Declan scores and decides that that is his swansong. Winemaking is his new job. The final epilogue, the dog, the cat and the chickens, is just a fantastic ending, the story perfectly. A must-read book. Roll on the next book.
Ginny Rhodes, a reality TV star known for her tumultuous relationship with her mother, sister, and brother, found herself in a new predicament. Encouraged by her mother and the producers, she was initially portrayed as the problem child. While this experience left emotional scars, it wasn’t until she attempted to intervene in her ex-boyfriend’s wedding to his high school sweetheart, just months after their breakup, that she gained viral attention.
Following this incident, Ginny ended up at a defunct winery that caters to women who have experienced traumatic viral events. The women residing at the winery are determined to revive the winery but require financial support and publicity. To achieve this, they enlisted the help of social media influencer Declan Fox, who is also best friends with Ginny’s ex, Alex.
Declan, a retired hockey player, had a tumultuous four-year relationship with Alex. During this time, he was known for his rude behavior towards Ginny. However, there was a reason behind his actions—he was masking his feelings for his best friend’s girlfriend.
Pippa Grant, a beloved author known for her humor and likable characters, crafted a captivating story that defied expectations. While readers initially anticipated a grumpy jerk from Declan’s past with Ginny, they were pleasantly surprised to discover his kind and generous nature. Similarly, Ginny, often portrayed as a villain due to her reality TV days and viral moment, is revealed to be a compassionate and resilient individual who has been deeply affected by her past. The rest of the eccentric cast of characters adds to the entertainment value of the story, making it a thoroughly enjoyable read. I received an arc of this book from the author for my honest review.
Guys! I LOVED this book. Declan Fox might just be my favourite MMC in the Pippaverse. At the very least, he's firmly in my top five.
What I loved most wasn't just the romance. It was their relationship. Declan sees Ginny. Like, REALLY sees her. He sees her needs, her wants, her fears, and every insecurity she tries to hide. He has her back against the absolute horror that is Freida Rhodes, puts her first, even when it could cost him, and she is NEVER too much for him.
And Ginny? She sees Declan for exactly who he is. A man who's spent his whole life feeling like he was second choice, yet to her, he's never second best. He's THE best. The smartest, kindest, athlete-iest hockey player ever, and the person she'd choose by her side when facing the world. It takes her a while to notice he's more than her ex's best friend who 'hates' her, but when she does, there's no going back... Despite all their hang-ups and all the obstacles in their way (and there are many), they find each other. More importantly, they choose each other.
I adore Ginny and am here for her cultivating a backbone (by yelling at Declan 🤣) and standing up to the world! Her growth throughout this book deserves a POV of its own.
I sniffled a sniff a few times. Beautiful, guys.
Getting to see the Makepeace gang again was such a joy. Pip is still the best thing that ever happened to women, Ten still has 99 problems, and they're all named Mabel, Cricket, Heath and Lav just make my heart happy as can be, and Foxy absolutely went there.
Now if someone could send me my own Flow to help cure my anxiety, I'd really appreciate it. ❤️
I received an advance reader copy from the author and am sharing my honest review.
Enemies to lovers Ex-hockey player Best friend's ex Forced proximity Starting over He's always loved her Female friendship goals Dual POV - 1st person
Duet Multicast narration - Connor Crais & Samantha Brentmoor with Kristyna Zaharek and Stella Hunter The four of these narrators performed this fun RomCom so wonderfully. Truly such a great listen!
Book #2 Accidentally Infamous series
OH my goodness! I did not think this series could get any better than book #1 You've got hate mail but this group of characters is so loveable that my heart is full. The found family vibes are strong with this series.
Ginny has a traumatic past from growing up in the spotlight and with a dramatic mother to boot. She also has gone viral for the wrong reasons which lead her to living at the compound with the other viral misfits. She has such an amazing heart and she is strong. I love her and all these ladies that live there.
Declan is a former hockey player turned social media star that has come to the winery to learn how to make wine for a documentary. Declan and Ginny have a past but not in a romantic way, though he wishes it was romantic. Declan has had a thing for Ginny since he met her when she was dating his best friend and former teammate Alex.
These two have chemistry and you can feel it. Declan is a sweet and swoony guy that is there for Ginny and wants to make Amenze for how he treated her in the past. Ginny tries to resist the pull toward Declan but a girl can only withstand so much.
Overall, this book had me laughing, swooning, and cheesing. I love Pippa Grant's writing I can always count on it to make me smile.
** Audio Review ** So damn fun! While You Were Trending by Pippa Grant was a hilarious and heartfelt enemies to lovers romance that had me snort laughing and happy sighing from start to finish. I couldn’t get enough of Ginny and Declan’s enemies to lovers tension and undeniable chemistry that had me longing for these two to find true happiness together. This one had all of Pippa’s signature antics that made me love these two even more.
Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais perform this audiobook in duet narration, and a Craismoor pairing is always a winning combination. Samantha’s soothing, expressive voice captured Ginny’s dedicated demeanor to make people happy while also giving into her desires for Declan. Connor’s deep, inviting timbre conveyed Declan’s steadfast love and protective persona to finally be the man Ginny needs. He also animatedly voices some drag queens, and I was dead! Stella Hunter and Kristyna Zaharek add their voices to several side characters to make this audiobook an entertaining immersive listening experience.
Overall, I loved this book. If you are a fan of a small town romance with a hot retired hockey player turned amateur documentarian, a former child reality star, female friendship goals, barn fire mishaps, funding a new winery, best friend’s ex, nosey mothers, a loyal dog named Flow, anonymous envelopes of money, slow burn spice, pottery moments, drag queen shows, intimate conversations, love declarations, truths about the past, and a HEA that will trend in your heart, then you will love Ginny and Declan’s story. I always look forward to more from Pippa Grant.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ + every single star I can possibly give.
How do I even put into words what While You Were Trending by Pippa Grant made me feel? Because “I loved it” doesn’t even begin to cover it.
This book completely consumed me. It had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes one minute, absolutely melting the next, and then grinning like an idiot over the sweetest moments. I was so invested in these characters that the real world simply didn’t exist while I was reading. Every time I had to put the book down, I couldn’t wait to pick it back up again.
Pippa Grant has officially worked her magic on me because this is everything I want in a romantic comedy. The banter? Absolute perfection. The chemistry? Off. The. Charts. The humor? I laughed more than I have with any book in a long time. And don’t even get me started on the heart. Beneath all the hilarious moments is a story that is so incredibly sweet, heartfelt, and full of emotion that I found myself falling more in love with these characters with every single page.
I honestly didn’t want this story to end. When I turned the last page, I just sat there staring at my book because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. These characters found a permanent place in my heart, and I already know this is a book I’ll be rereading whenever I need a guaranteed smile.
This isn’t just one of my favorite romances of the year… it’s one of my favorite books, period.
If you’ve ever trusted one of my recommendations, let this be the one. Preorder it. Read it the second it releases. Cancel your plans because you’re not going to want to stop once you start. While You Were Trending is funny, swoony, heartfelt, unforgettable, and pure happiness wrapped up in one incredible story.
Pippa Grant, you’ve absolutely ruined me in the best possible way. 💜✨📚
Another AMAZING book in Pippa Grant’s Accidentally Famous series! I enjoyed Ginny and Declan’s story from start to finish.
THOUGHTS 💭 🍷 I loved how our FMC Ginny HATED our MMC Declan. He, on the other hand, loved her wholly and wanted to be her savior. Seeing both of their POVs allowed me to better-understand our MCs motivations and dreams and thoughts and regrets. 🍷 Ginny’s mom was the absolute worst, and, from the very first chapter, Declan stood up for Ginny. It endeared me to him immediately. 🍷 I love a man with regrets who grovels; years ago, Declan masked his feelings for Ginny by being mean to her and I loved watching him make amends/try to win her over with his steadfastness and thoughtfulness. 🍷 Declan‘s dog, Flo, and her love for Ginny was so very sweet. I loved their reunion after years apart. 🍷 My heart hurt for our FMC. Her childhood really messed her up and I was just so sad for her. 😭 🍷 I love that Ginny felt comfortable enough with Declan to be her true, sassy self. The banter between these two was perfection. 🍷 Declan was quite the MMC. He was thoughtful and steady and supportive and so darn sweet. He reminded me of my own golden retriever husband who puts up with my sass and is a great partner. 🍷 My cheeks hurt from smiling, especially during the bonus epilogue! 🐶🐱🐓 🎧 Oh my gosh, that multicast narration! It truly brought the story to life by giving the main characters their own voices. 🎧 The narrators WERE the characters for me; Pippa couldn’t have chosen better. 🤩
Thanks so much to Pippa Grant and her team for this amazing ARC and ALC!
4.5⭐️ Pippa Grant is becoming one of my all time favorite rom-com authors. You’ve Got Hate Mail was the first book I read by her and absolutely loved in and could not wait for While You Were Trending and it did not disappoint.
I was so excited when I realized we were getting Ginny and Declan’s story!! In what I have come realize that in true Pippa fashion this book is going have you laughing out loud but also give you depth and the absolutely best characters and found family. You don’t just fall in love with the main two characters but also all of the side characters as well. You even fall in love with all the pets at the Winery.
Ginny had had a tough life for growing up as a child superstar on a reality TV show with an absolutely terrible mother to going famous for crashing her exes wedding.
Then you have Declan who is our retired hockey star who has now become famous for his documentary Foxy Goes There.
Ginny and Declan had a rough start because Declan is Ginny’s exes best friend and he had always been super mean to her because he had feelings for her even while she was with his best friend and he didn’t want anyone to know. He shows up at the winery to do a documentary about wine making that they are hoping is going to help turn around their winery and save it.
I think what made this story so amazing is that Declan always saw the best in Ginny and helped her realize her potential and not everything was her fault. There was so much growth in Ginny’s character throughout this story.
I can’t wait for book three because I am hoping we are going to get Mable’s and Tens story!!
While You Were Trending Accidentally Infamous #2 By Pippa Grant Narrated by Connor Crais, Samantha Brentmoor, Stella Hunter, Kristyna Zaharek
Ginny is in hiding after a viral reel makes her the wedding wrecker. She has found a home where others also have had a viral moment and are healing, and while some leave, others stay. Currently, her group is trying get their winery in the black, but they need a capital infusion to help. Agreeing to a documentary of their journey, is one way of making some extra money, but when Declan, Ginny's ex's best friend is the person filming, things take a turn. Declan has always had a crush on Ginny, and now seeing a possible chance for them to get together, his protective mode and help is right there for her. But if things progress, what will he tell his best friend? Also, someone is leaving envelopes of money around the property. Who could it be? This is an original story, filled with tragedy, humor and passion. The characters are like a family, each with their own story, personalities that are likable and willing to do what it takes. Loving this series as each installment brings fresh ideas and amazing characters. Can't wait til the next one.
Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor once again bring their talents to my ears. Always a pleasure to hear them work together, they make this listen full of slow burn love along with caring friends. Together with cameos by Stella Hunter and Kristyna Zaharek, this was a listen that was entertaining and full of fun and emotion.
Ex child star, Ginny, has always been used to the spotlight and an overbearing mother who loves the attention she gets. Ginny goes viral after storming into to stop her ex boyfriend’s wedding. An ex boyfriend she broke up with. Declan, her ex boyfriend’s best friend, has always loved her but had no choice but to keep quiet about his feelings. Declan comes back into her life filming a documentary and the man who has been mean to her the whole time they’ve known each other is about to be the one person who knows her best.
Declan and Ginny are officially my favorite couple of the series thus far. Omg, I ate this book up! Ginny has so much unresolved feelings and communication with her family, ex, and Declan himself. She is going through so much by herself and it takes Declan to show her that she is not the problem. That the people around her are the ones who should have made she she’s okay. I love that Declan fought hard to give her space but also show her that she’s had him all wrong!
This book has so much of the hilarious and quirky situations and personality like the first one and I loved this one more. There were so many situations in the book where I’m like omg what just happened. Did she really write that. Omg what could go wrong now! So funny and fun!
I’m so excited for the next book. I’m hoping I’m reading the Easter eggs right for the next couple!
Ginny has a contentious relationship with her mother and brother, but a decent relationship with her sister. So she suffers through a wedding at her hideout for her sister, even if that means her mother will be there. The group has also welcomed a documentary crew to document the reopening of the winery, and the filmmaker is a familiar face too. Declan happens to be Ginny's ex's best friend, and from what she remembers, hates her. Turns out that's not the exact truth. Ginny doesn't exactly trust herself, and the more she sees Declan be nice to her, the more she questions everything. So what happens when Ginny happens to go viral again, and it's all thanks to her mother, again?
Declan and Ginny get their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.
I love this group! The found family here and how protective they are of each other is amazing. I also loved how they push when they see each other being stubborn and need someone to get them out of their head. I do wonder what Ginny's brother has been up to that he unexpectedly came into all this money, and I hope we get to find out how his crush on Mabel began. I also can't wait to see how many more men end up living around their commune over the coming years.
I received an advance review copy from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I am completely obsessed with While You Were Trending! 💖 This is the second interconnected standalone in the series, and Pippa Grant absolutely knocked Ginny and Declan’s story out of the park! The plot is so unique and fun: ✨ Ginny previously went viral for ruining her ex’s wedding.🏡 Now, she lives in a beautiful commune of women who have all survived public, viral scandals. 🎥 In walks Declan—her ex’s best friend—who arrives to film a documentary. Ginny tries to avoid him, but Declan is NOT the man she remembers. In fact, he’s been secretly pining for her for years! 😭 suffering from a major case of "he fell first and he fell HARD."I loved getting crumbs of Ginny in the last book, but her full story was even better than expected. The found family inside this commune is so supportive and beautiful. Ginny’s emotional growth and strength made her an incredible main character and watching her heal was so rewarding. And Declan? Total GREEN FLAG. 💚 The slow-burn tension, the banter, and the spice were all perfection. He becomes such a safe place for her. Plus, Declan’s dog, Flow, was the absolute sweetest addition to the story! 🐕🐾If you want a heartfelt, funny, and spicy romance with incredible tropes, add this to your TBR immediately. I can't wait for the next book! 📚✨
This was yet another amazing book from Pippa Grant. I am absolutely loving this series. Ginny and Declan were so great. My first note when I was reading this book was “I love a man who yearns” and boy does Declan yearn.
Declan is Ginny’s ex-boyfriend’s best friend. Add in the fact that Ginny kinda went viral at her ex’s wedding, where Declan was the best man, and he never seemed to be her biggest fan while he was in her life and you get a recipe for a messy situation. Especially when Declan is back to make a documentary that will help save the winery where Ginny has been hiding out. Seeing their relationship grow despite all the obstacles was so fun. They really did not have an easy path to getting together.
Seeing Ginny get to know Declan now 4 years later when he doesn’t seem to hate her as much was so sweet. And Declan is so sweet and kind to Ginny and everyone else at the winery. I absolutely adored how supportive Declan was of Ginny. He was always there for her and wanted to help her however he could. The way he helped reassure her whenever her mother or the internet got to her was so sweet.
As usual the rest of the cast of characters was so great. I love everyone at Makepeace Cellars so much, it’s such a fun group and I love how they all support each other. A fantastic found family which Pippa is so great at writing, along with plenty of hilarious hijinks. I absolutely cannot wait until the next book comes out!
