Omega Protocol #2

Aftershock Protocol

Rate this book
Zero survived HVC. Unfortunately, HVC has always been very bad at accepting defeat.

Still House is supposed to be safer now. Not safe, because that would be adorable and wildly inaccurate, but safer. There are locks on the doors, heat in the rooms, people who knock before entering, and Colt sleeping close enough that Zero can pretend he doesn’t need the sound of his alpha breathing to keep the nightmares from climbing into bed with him.
It should be enough.
It isn’t.
When old HVC signals begin pulsing through the buried infrastructure beneath Still House, Zero’s body starts answering before his mind can refuse. His scent blanks. His heat cues fracture. His bond with Colt glitches hard enough to turn want into panic and safety into something that feels sickeningly close to command, because HVC didn’t just build protocols for captivity.
They built protocols for escape. They planned for survivors to find shelter, form bonds, trust, and love. Then they taught the old systems how to use that love against them.
Colt knows how to protect Zero from enemies with hands, weapons, and names, but this isn’t a man at the door. This is a signal under the floor. A ghost of HVC reaching through the bond Colt would burn the world to keep free, and when Graves arrives to track the dead pockets waking beneath Still House, he hears something worse than an old system coming back online.
He hears absence, silence moving, and proof that Zero may not be the only survivor HVC left buried in its infrastructure. However, before Still House can follow the sound in the walls, Zero and Colt have to survive what HVC left inside them, because the aftershock protocol is waking. Zero has never been good at staying quiet when something tries to own him.

Aftershock Protocol is a dark MM alpha/omega omegaverse novella set between Omega Protocol and Alpha Signal. It features post-captivity trauma recovery, corrupted heat cues, bond reclamation, Still House chaos, old HVC systems waking under the floor, Graves being quietly terrifying, explicit open-door intimacy between consenting adults, and one feral omega refusing to let the people who broke him have the last word.
HEA/HFN guaranteed.
The damage still bites, and so does Zero.

Aftershock Protocol is the third book in the Omega Protocol series. This series is best read in order because of the overarching plot. We are back with Zero and Colt for more of the story. I'm still in love with Zero and Colt because they are so perfect for each other. We get to learn new things about HVC in this book. I hate watching Zero go through all the things he has but it makes the story that much more interesting. So much happens in this book that I know I will be rereading it to see what I missed the first time. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book and series as 5 star reads.

Aftershock Protocol reminded me exactly why Zero became my favorite in the first place. His commentary and banter are still absolutely my kind of humor, and getting more of him only confirmed that I am keeping him. Sorry to everyone else. The world around these characters continues to be complete chaos, but somehow Zero can make me laugh right in the middle of it, which is probably one of my favorite things about this series.

I also loved getting to see more of the relationships and dynamics that have been building since the beginning. There is still so much happening in this world and plenty left unresolved, so naturally I finished this one already wanting the next installment. Apparently this series is just going to keep handing me pieces of the story and expecting me to wait patiently for the rest, which feels unreasonable. Especially when Zero is involved.

Thank you to Jenna for an ARC!

Another incredible addition to the Omega Protocol world! I am obsessed with Colt and Zero and loved getting to see more of my precious babies. Zero was feisty as ever and Colt loved every second of it. The way HVC was messing with them had me livid, but I was so proud of how they fought back, especially my favorite feral omega. I also adored getting to meet Graves and Hush and can’t wait to see more of them in Alpha Signal. I highly recommend picking this one up after reading the earlier books in the series!

Book 1.5 of the Series. MM Romance, one open door spicy scene, and a whole lot of sarcasm/attitude from the two MCs. I’m in love with this series. It’s a must that you read book one and Zero’s story. Be ready for a whole lot of sarcasm, a unique writing style, and an unhealthy amount of banter in dangerous situations! 🏚️🔈🚰🚫🥄🕳️🩸🎨

I love Zero. His whole life he has been a prisoner and now he is "free", or as free as he can get. Colt has been by his side since they broke out of HVC. But HVC wants Zero back and tries very hard to track him down and put him back in HVC.

Thank you for the copy.

Omg I just love they dynamics of the people in the book. I am definitely planning on buying them to reread later.
I inspire to be as sassy and very quick with jokes as Zero!
