A young man who left Russia for the USA as a young boy returns to the village where he grew up, post revolution. The book is a collection of his observations and discussions with, mainly, the peasants who still live there. While the older peasants bemoan what has been lost the youngsters, full of revolutionary zeal extol the benefits of socialism. A fascinating insight
