Black Communion: A Dark Mafia Romance

Rate this book
Once upon a time, the Devil married an angel, to bury her.

I was raised in silence. A convent in the Umbrian hills, a garden, a name that wasn’t really mine. They told me my mother was dead. They told me I was no one.

They lied about both.

When Luciano De Vecchi walks into my cell, I learn the truth in a single I am the last daughter of a dynasty his family burned to the ground nineteen years ago. He has come to end the bloodline.

So he marries it instead.

He thinks he’s taking a frightened girl. A pawn. A debt to be settled in white silk and a wedding ring. He has no idea my mother spent every year of my life building me into something sharper than any blade he owns.

He calls me Veleno . Poison.

He doesn’t know yet how right he is.

But the longer I live in his glass tower above the city, the harder it becomes to remember which of us is the trap, and which of us is the prey. Because the man the whole world fears is unraveling for me. And the mother who made me is coming to collect what she’s owed.

One of them built me to take a crown.
The other built me to be one.

And I am done being built by anyone.

The story was actually pretty good. There was zero spice, though. The book was written in a manner that I'm not so sure I like. There was a lot of repetitive wording that felt like filler. I don't think I will be investing in the follow up.
