BBW biologist + bear shifter pilot + huddling for warmth in the wilderness = one blazing-hot story!
Wildlife biologist April has given up on love. She's curvy, stubborn, and wears jeans and boots instead of skirts. If that wasn't bad enough, her job takes her all over the North American continent. What man would want that?
Hunky bush pilot Nathan has spent his whole life hiding his true polar bear shifter nature. But when gorgeous April walks into his life, his bear wants to rise up and claim his mate. Unfortunately, all April wants is a pilot to fly her across the Canadian tundra to count polar bears. But Nathan's touch sets her on fire ...
After their plane goes down in the wilderness, the two give in to their red-hot passion. But can their love survive April's discovery of Nathan's secret? And when they get back to civilization, can the bear and the girl who loves bears find their happily ever after?
**Standalone BBW bear shifter romance. No cliffhangers!**
Lauren Esker writes romantic suspense and paranormal romance that’s just a little off the beaten path. Which isn’t surprising since she’s a lifelong Alaskan who is a little off the beaten path herself! (Literally and figuratively.) She also writes graphic novels and scifi/fantasy as Layla Lawlor, and m/m romance as Layla M. Wier.
Like the part of this story how they met and what happened during the flight and the crash. But the part when they are back in town I liked less, I was afraid they were messing up there change to be with each other.
Bear Down (Bears Gone Wild) by Lauren Esker. April was in the Canadian arctic to survey the polar bears. When she met Nathan, the pilot who was flying her to do the survey, she was instantly drawn to him. Nathan knew instantly that April was his mate. Whilst flying a storm blew up and Nathan had to land but crashed the plane. While they waited to be rescued a bear came too close and Nathan had to shifter so he could protect April. It wasn’t the way he wanted her to find out he was a shifter.
What could be scarier than crash landing in the wilds of Canada? The polar bear surveyor biologist is about to find out. She's about to get closer to the bears than she ever thought she would!
The three stories in this series are an exciting mixture of drama and sexy romance with a side of fun. The novellas are quick reads. Perfect for lunchtime or bedtime. Very enjoyable reads. I wish there were more Bears Gone Wild.
This began really strong, I enjoyed the writing, but I wish it ended up being more about being stuck out there after the crash and it ended with them being found, as opposed to what happens. A bit disappointed in the author that this ends at 85% and is followed by pages and pages of their books and synopsis, a list of the titles would have worked exactly the same and followed the guidelines.
Thoroughly enjoyed April & Nathan's story very much. I love reading a happy ever after story it makes me feel better after a very hard day. Thank you for writing this story.
Short and sweet and to the point. Love how you make the simplest stories interesting, I love all your books, and looking forward to more captivating stories like this one..big fan as alway Winzie19🤗💞.
Such a sweet story. Both Nathan and April are adorable. Reading their story just made me so happy. The Zoeies always do a wonderful job of world building and story development even in their short stories.
He's taking a biologist on a trip to count polar bears. She doesn't know that he is a polar bear shifter until he changes into a bear to chase another bear away.
A sweet shifter read with a polar bear as the hero. Heroine was plucky and took things well in stride. Not a lot of depth and it was pretty much over within a 36 hour timeline but still enjoyable. Read in the KU box set BEAR DOWN & BEAR WATCHING.
This was a cute, short love story with a happy ending, a female main character who readily accepts her bear, and a bear that has finally found his mate
After seeing a FB post of this being one of the first Zoe Chant books, I decided to check it out.
This is a super sweet, super quick read. April is a fun character, and Nathan is a smokin' hot Polar Bear ... in Canadian tundra. A plane crash actually helps jump start this couple's relationship.
Kindle Unlimited standalone book. She is there to study the Polar bears and he is supposed to take her for a flight so she can gather it. Problem one is a bear. Problem two she is his mate. Problem three they crash. Was an okay read. Kind of slow to start and the Alpha wasn't as strong as the female character. I'd say it's a 3 - 3 1/2 read for me.
This was a cute story. I liked Nathan. He was a sweet polar bear. April was sweet too. She actually took him being a polar bear really really well. She didnt freak at all. He kinda ran off afraid what her reaction would be and she chases after him looking for him. LOL. Great light hearted book. Good secondary characters too. His business partner Lee was cool.
I was binge reading and had quite a few of Zoe Chant's books that I had one-clicked and wanted to read, but would always have something else come up. I have to say. TAKE THE TIME AND READ ALL OF HER BOOKS!! They are each unique, some follow a specific group, but each can stand alone and have a happy ending. They are feel good and quick reads! I absolutely loved all her books I have read!
This was a fun short story. Loved how the hero and heroine meet. The crash scene was exciting. I differently enjoyed the non cliffhanger ending. Great Story. An easy fast read.
This was a cute short. The characters were very likable and relate-able. She hires him to fly her around for her job and he realizes that she's his mate. Crash landing on the tundra leads to hot sex and him shifting to protect her from another bear.
April has contracted with Nathan's charter service to fly over the tundra to perform a polar bear study. What start as a crash landing ends up with her learning that shifters are real.
Bear biologist human meets bear shifter pilot. From the moment he locked eyes on human bear researcher he couldn't look away. Will they get a chance at thinking of a future together when they crash land during a storm on the tundra? Very well worth reading!
I enjoyed this book but really wish it was a full length story I am so into shifters and like it so much more when they give more about them and the dark secrets they are fighting
