THE SILVER WOLF HAS RETURNED.

Ceridwen promised the King of Eve City she would bring him the Imperatrix’s head. There is one complication. She made an oath as a Sister of Amara to never take another person’s life, and she will not break that vow.

She again adopts the role of Lady Eve, the continent’s most notorious assassin, and returns to Orion City to hunt the Akriel and its master, and to save Bastian Amulet from his dark fate. Only, what she originally hoped would be simple and swift tasks, prove to be the opposite. Devastating secrets are revealed. A terrible evil returns. And Ceridwen is at the heart of it.

Meanwhile, Yvaine remains in Eve City. Every day she attempts to leave the Cathedral grounds, and fails. Until she receives an ominous warning of an impending war. With no safe or swift way to warn Ceridwen and Genevieve in Orion City, Yvaine takes it upon herself to look into the threat. But she is in over her head, and the perilous choices she makes will be the difference between the Cathedral’s survival or its demise.

The epic sequel to Silver Tongue, a sinister and profound story of sacrifice, hope, and betrayal set in a world that has forgotten its history; to its own detriment.

This was a great follow-up to the first book, and I especially loved the romance! Ceridwen and Bastian had such chemistry and yearning. I really enjoyed their scenes and the magical world-building. However, the sequel introduces many characters and plotlines, which made Yvaine and Genevieve’s chapters less engaging for me. I didn’t connect much with either—though I believe they could become compelling characters later; their stories didn’t develop much until near the end. But even then I was thinking “get me back to the romance, monsters, and her magic elements.”

I was craving more Bastian and even wanting the novel to encompass chapters from his POV! I wish there were a book focused solely on Bastian and Ceridwen.

Loved it, it was even better than the first book.
Can’t wait for Ceridwen to learn more about her powers and what she might do with them. Bastian might be my favourite male character ever, the way he yearned for Ceridwen, chef’s kiss.
Was very surprised by the ending, can’t wait for the next one!!
