A DARK BILLIONAIRE MAFIA ROMANCE FROM EXCITING AUTHOR ELENA WOODS

Book three in the Boston Blood series

He was the light she left behind. Now he’s the darkness claiming her.

Chiara Bianchi has spent her life hidden in the shadows of the Boston mafia world, molded into a perfect mafia princess by her controlling mother. When she thinks she has reached rock bottom with the betrayal of her mother and the disgrace of her father, she hears the golden boy of the famiglia and her longtime crush, Lucas Romano, dismissing her as just a friend. With nothing left to stay for, she makes the hardest, yet easiest choice of her existence—to disappear and build a new life on her own terms.

But Lucas is far from the carefree womanizer he once seemed. Shattered by Chiara’s absence, his descent into darkness is as brutal as his desire to reclaim her. When he finds her months later, strong, independent, and unwilling to return, he railroads his way back into her life, igniting a relentless game of power and obsession. When her father’s death unravels the last threads of her past, Chiara faces a deal struck long ago, one that binds her to an arranged marriage she was raised all her life to fulfill, not as a choice, but as a pawn. Claiming to save her, Lucas binds her to him instead under the guise of protection. To prevent a war, Chiara is left with no choice but to surrender her future in a loveless marriage to the man she cannot bring herself to stop loving.

When everything begins to unravel, Chiara is forced to step out of the shadows and into her own power. Now, with the stakes higher than ever, she must decide if she is ready to risk it all for the man who still holds her heart. Maybe love isn’t the cage binding her to the world she longed to leave behind, but the one thing that finally sets her free.

I DEVOURED this spicy mafia romance! Let me tell you, this one had me begging for more. I thought the last Boston Blood book was my favourite, but this one has officially stolen that spot.
Chiara started off as a shy, keep to herself kind of girl who was used to doing what was expected of her, but as the story progressed, I absolutely loved watching her come into her own. She started making her own decisions, standing up for what she believed was right, and refusing to let other people dictate how she should live her life. She was done being told what to do and how to act, and I was HERE FOR IT!
Then we have our blonde, blue eyed Lucas, the mafia’s second in command. He’s not afraid to resort to violence, and I’m internally screaming because, let’s be honest, I LOVE when a man takes charge.
Lucas doesn’t realize what he has until it’s taken away from him, and losing Chiara drives him absolutely crazy. He becomes completely obsessed with getting her back, and when I say he’s willing to tear the entire world apart for her… I mean it. And that is exactly the kind of burn the world for me energy I love in an MMC.
I also loved that Chiara didn’t simply give in. She wanted her freedom, and she fought for it, even though deep down, her feelings for Lucas were still very much there. And the things Lucas did to win her heart? Some were definitely over the top, but WHO DOESN’T LOVE THAT?! 😂
The moments when he talked to her about his cars and what he wanted to do with them, and with her had me swooning. There was just something about those conversations that I absolutely loved.
And that ending?! I was in TEARS. I’m a sucker for a good HEA, and the whole thing with Lucas having the garden redone and lined with her favourite flowers? My heart was swooning all over again.
This book had obsession, spice, possessiveness, romance, and all the mafia goodness I could ask for. Absolutely devoured it! Now I’m just sitting here wondering how I’m supposed to move on. 😭

ARC Review

I went into this part of the series, not really sure in what direction she was going to take the story of Chiara and Lucas. I wondered if it would live up to the other two books…. Maaaaan…

I gasped, I gusped and clenched my imaginary pearls. I cursed and I’ve cried. All the feels were felt

And the twists, perfection!

Lucas Romano…. Broooo. This man… that’s all I can say without spoiling it

Elena has created these men that are so perfectly possessive in the way that us dark romance readers fawn over

I’ve been waiting for this book for a LONG while 😭 Ever since I read the prologue in My Ghost, I knew Chiara and Lucas were going to give us something special. And after finishing it… I was right.

But first, Elena Woods. Her writing has such a distinctive, elevated style that reading her books feels like stepping into the world of the classics that became milestones in our lives: Les Misérables, The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, Peter Pan… And then she gives us Manticore, the Cheshire Cat, Apollo, and all those little references that made me smile the biggest smile ever. 😭 I absolutely love how she weaves them into her stories.

Chiara has spent her life feeling like she’s living someone else’s life, waiting for her own to begin. At twenty-six, she finally decides to choose herself and Lucas, the golden boy she has loved for years. Her Phoebus, her Sun God. She wants to tell him how she feels, only to hear that she’s just a friend who has no one else. Devastated, insecure, and desperate for a life of her own, she disappears.

Lucas completely loses his mind. The charming, carefree womanizer of the trio (Damiano, Matteo, and Lucas) suddenly becomes obsessed with finding her, neglecting everything else until she’s all he can think about. Her disappearance ripped him open and revealed a side of him, a blackness, we’d never seen before: dark, jealous, possessive, ruthless, and completely unhinged. Once he finds her, there is absolutely no way he’s letting her go again. His obsession spirals into something dark, painful, and honestly shocking to read. He wants to punish her for leaving him...

But Chiara is NOT weak. And even when Lucas tries to take control, she keeps fighting him. Then comes the marriage… because apparently they had no other option to avoid a war. 😭 “My wife.” He won't let anyone take her from her, whatever the cost.

And the chemistry? WOW. 🔥🔥🔥 The tension, power struggles, fear, anticipation, and those sizzling scenes were everything. Chiara may be frightened by this darker side of Lucas, but she can’t deny the shiver he sends down her spine every time he’s close. And Lucas will do whatever it takes to make sure she never leaves him again and never needs anyone but him. She is his “Sunfall.”

Elena Woods has become such a special author to me, and I genuinely appreciate her more than I can put into words... more than she’d ever know. There’s something about her writing that completely pulls me into her worlds, and My Sunfall was no exception.

It was painful, obsessive, dark, emotional, and absolutely delicious.

And Elena… you know I’m always here for your particular brand of crazy. I love you. 🖤

"She is a sweet little thing, she deserves to be worshipped like a princess, not dragged into the darkness that lives inside me."

Chiara Bianchi was raised to be the “best version” of a  mafia wife. As her life shifts, she feels more lost, suffocated, and alone. Just when she thinks things can’t get worse, her long-time crush Lucas Romano dismisses her feelings, destroying her heart in the process. She does what anyone would do when they feel like they have nothing left, she leaves. In order to get the fresh start she desperately needs, she doesn’t tell anyone where she is going.  Chiara’s disappearance sets Lucas on a rampage and he becomes obsessed with two things; Chiara and finding her. My Sunfall showcases his obsession and dive into darkness. How long does it take for Lucas to find Chiara? Is she the same when he does? Can she accept this darker version of Lucas? Can Lucas allow Chiara and her newfound power to shine within his shadows? Was it really her disappearance that sparked his obsession?

“You were the cathedral”

Y’all I am shook! Elena has done it again. My Sunfall is told in dual POV, has a medium to fast pace, is set in a contemporary world that’s easy to digest with equal parts plot, character building, and delicious spice. Damiano, Matteo, Lucas, Lucas, Matteo, Damiano! Too bad these book boyfriends are not the sharing type (insert image of me fanning myself) because I can’t choose who’s love story I enjoyed more.  Lucas and Chiara’s transformations though, are top notch. From the small homages paid to Victor Hugo’s The Hunchback of Notre-Dame where saving the neglected cathedral is important to the liberating feeling of finally being free to truly be yourself in your own skin and on your own terms. My Sunfall is a true example of beautiful writing. My only complaint is it is OVER!!!! Lucky for me, books are forever and I can re-read the Boston Blood series. Please note, although these are interconnected stories, it is best to read them in order to completely understand the plot. From a series standpoint, I really enjoy seeing glimpses of the “gang” and the true possessive nature these mafia men embody.

As always when enjoying dark romance, be sure to check the trigger warnings first BUT if you enjoy found family, mafia vibes, age gaps, fake marriages, touch her and 💀, morally black mmc’s, and non-con/dub-con stories My Sunfall is a must read.

Thank you Elena for allowing me the privilege to read and review Lucas and Chiara’s love story prior to the release.

ARC REVIEW English and Spanish 🖤🔍👠🔫

This book surprised me immensely; it far exceeded my expectations.

Poor Chiara, she's been in love with Lucas for years. Chiara is a mafia princess; her mother raised her to be the perfect wife, manipulating her rise to power to suit her own purposes. After her mother's death and betrayal, her life changes completely. Her father becomes an alcoholic and hurts her with insults. Lucas has always been there for her as a friend. At a party, she overhears Lucas telling his ex that Chiara is just a friend and that nothing will ever happen between them. This deeply wounds Chiara, and tired of her life and unable to make decisions, she decides to run away, to leave everything behind.

Lucas is almost the ideal man: fun, cheerful, polite, but is he a womanizer? 🤐 Everything changes when Chiara runs away. The brilliant man disappears; he has become cold, moody, and selfish. He has stopped flirting, he has completely lost his mind, and he won't stop until he finds Chiara.

I had Lucas's personality in mind; I thought he would be the same with Chiara to win her over, but no, he had to make her obsessed with him.

Lucas is obsessive and possessive, just like Damiano.

Thanks for the ARC😘🖤🥰

My Sunfall is the third book in the Boston Blood series by Elena Woods. It's a dark mafia romance with a morally gray hero who becomes obsessed with his good girl love interest. Suspense is well written, characters are likeable, steam upon steam, no cheating, no third act breakup, a HEA with a bonus epilogue.

TW: non-consent/dubious consensual dynamics (NC/DC), violence, threats, psychological tension, crime, torture, human trafficking, death, obsession, possessive, and morally grey characters. There is also mention of childhood trauma, dealing with alcoholism and grief, and depiction of panic attacks.

I would like to Thank Elena Woods for my ARC and in return I voluntarily promised an honest review.

Chiara Bianchi is tired of living her life by pleasing everyone else around her. When she overhears her long time crush denying any feelings for her she decides to escape Boston and leave her Mafia Princess image behind.

Lucas Romano has had feelings for Chiara since be first laid eyes on her but uses his fun loving, playboy image to keep anyone from getting to close. But when Chiara disappears it sends him into a tailspin of desperation to find her.

Chiara is living a simple life and now goes by Cara Bailey and works as a barista. It took Lucas 6 months to find her and if he has to glue her to himself to keep her from running he will.

Now that Lucas has got a taste of her and her attitude, he's become addicted. He will give up his second in command position to have her but someone else has showed up and thinks she belongs to him or there will be war.

What lengths will Lucas go to to guarantee that his Cara Mia will not only be his Sunfall but his Sunrise as well?

Lucas Romano. Someone pour some cold water on me… because 🥵🥵🥵 Is it weird that I got more turned on the more controlling he got? No? Cool.

And Chiara, she gave off major do-as-your-told vibes in the beginning. She was desperate for her own life and freedom. And let me just tell you, that girl just straight up took control of her everything the moment she *thinks* she can’t have what she truly wants (ahem *Lucas*). She completely starts over with her new life, until ghosts from her past start to turn up. Lucas literally loses his mind when Chiara leaves. It was hot. And when he finds her, the obsession and control becomes so much more intense. I’m talking, TURN THAT SHIT UP TO ELEVEN!
One thing I absolutely loved about Chiara is that she doesn’t give in to him easily, that girl is a fighter. She knows what she wants and she isn’t about to let him come in and take over. Of course, that was short lived because Lucas is a crazy passionate dude - even though his “passion” is more of a punishment for her leaving. I mean, I wouldn’t be able to say no to him 😂

Loved the chemistry. Loved the dark tones of Sunfall. Loved that we finally find out who is behind Manticore. Loved that we get to explore the relationship between Chiara and Lily a little bit more. This is an excellent dark Mafia romance series!

Ohhhhh and I did NOT see that Lorenzo twist coming! Fucking FIRE.

One thing I love about Elena’s books, she KNOWS how to write a possessive MMC and a kick ass FMC.

Thank you to the author for the ARC!

Once again Please check your trigger warnings before reading this book

Lucas had me completely fooled. Knowing his personality, I went into this story expecting him to charm Chiara the same way he charms everyone else. I thought he’d flirt, make her laugh, and slowly win her over with that irresistible, carefree personality of his.
But Lucas had other plans. He didn’t just want Chiara to fall for him—he wanted to consume her.
Lucas is almost the perfect man: funny, cheerful, charming, polite, and effortlessly charismatic. But beneath that easy smile is a man with a possessive, obsessive side that comes out the moment Chiara runs away.
And that’s when everything changes.
The brilliant, playful Lucas disappears, replaced by someone cold, moody, selfish, and completely unhinged. The flirting stops. The smiles disappear. Nothing matters anymore except finding Chiara.
He doesn’t care how far she runs.
He doesn’t care what it costs him.
He will find her.
And honestly? Watching him unravel over her was everything. His obsession, his possessiveness, the sheer desperation behind his actions—it was intense, emotional, and completely addictive.
I expected Lucas to make Chiara fall in love with him.
Instead, he made her obsession his own—and then made sure she became just as obsessed with him.
Lucas has that same dangerous, possessive energy I loved in Damiano. He may have started out as the charming womanizer, but once Chiara became his, there was absolutely no going back. 🖤🔥

Before I review the storyline of the book itself, I would like to say that there should be a trigger warning on the book about violence, abduction, and what some would consider sexual assault. If reading those things do not bother you then by all means I recommend the book.
First, let me say that I will try very hard not to put any spoilers in this review, but there may be some hints towards outcomes.
Next, let me say Elena Woods built up Chiara’s character very well! I love how she kind of came into her own. That being said, Lucas and I had a love-hate relationship through this book. There were times where I felt his behavior would have been considered assault and I wish Chiara had confronted him in the book about it.
Last, I love the dynamics of the relationship between the girls and their dad in the story and how they all learned to grow from it.
I was so engrossed in the book that I read it in under a day. It was great!
I totally recommend the book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

First, thank you to the author for allowing me an ARC to devour. I inhaled the first two books in this series and was really excited to read about Chiara and Lucas after being introduced to them in the previous books.

The beginning had me hooked and I enjoyed seeing how Chiara developed into her own person, especially with cooking and the Krav Maga! The woman is a warrior! I struggled a tiny bit with the pacing of this third book, and connecting with the two MCs at times, but that may be more subjective. Both characters were well rounded and Lucas was just as unhinged and possessive as the MMCs in the first two books. That man's mouth, lawd! So hot!

The ending was beautiful, where we were given a glimpse into Lucas' history that explained some of his actions from earlier in the book. I had wondered if there was deeper meaning behind his behaviors from the beginning of the book and the author tied it back well. The ending was so sweet!

I LOVE the writing style, and the world the author has created and I cannot wait to return in future books!

ARC Review

Elena Woods does it again with My Sunfall, the latest addition to the Boston Bloods series!

I really loved Chiara and Lucas. Chiara has the biggest crush on Lucas and finally decides she wants to tell him how she feels… until something she overhears completely stops her in her tracks.

Then came this quote:

“It’s like…I’m living someone else’s life and waiting for mine to start.”

And that’s exactly what she does. She disappears to start fresh, needing to get away and figure out her life. But her absence makes Lucas realise just how much she had become a part of his.

And this man…

He is FERAL for her. No, actually, worse than feral. He needs her to breathe, to function, and when he realises she’s gone, he is NOT messing around. My god, does this man go and get her!

And the gym scene?! I was GASPING.

ON. HIS. FACE.

I loved watching their relationship unfold, and that ending was absolutely perfect. It was exactly what was needed and left me very happy!

Another fantastic read from Elena Woods and a brilliant addition to the Boston Bloods series.

🖤 my review for My Sunfall 🖤

By @elenawoods_author

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶🌶,5

My Sunfall is the third book in the Boston Blood series by Elena and it's another amazing masterpiece in the series!

The writing is perfect and flawless! So addictive and the book is so easy to get into. There's definitely a few heavy TWs in there so check those out.

A 5⭐️ read without a doubt!!

Lucas Romano is the perfect example of an unhinged and obsessive MMC and holy smokes he was hot!! 🥵 He totally lost it when Chiara disappeared and becomes obsessed with finding her!

And Chiara such an amazing, strong FMC!! After been let down and devastated by it she decided to disappear and grew stronger every day away from home.

The chemistry between them was so hot!! You could feel the fire between them. The story is so descriptive and intense and I really enjoyed every single chapter!

Highly recommend this book AND this entire series!!

Lucas follows suit of the men in the series by being controlling, possessive and giving off "you're mine".

Chiara is defiant and rebels off the plan her parents had for her to be a mafia bride. She wants what she wants, and that's Lucas.

The spice? 🥵
The plot? 😦
The obsession? 🫠

I devoured it in one sitting (as I do with Elena's work) and found the pacing easy and the storyline flowing well.

I recommend the series for people who like dark romance, with morally black mafia men with unhinged obsessions.

Arc review;
This story did keep me drawn in, just when I thought everything was great something would put me back on the edge of the seat.
I didn't find it overly dark however I usually read a lot darker but this had a good mix of spice, dark elements (read the triggers) and a good story line.
