I DEVOURED this spicy mafia romance! Let me tell you, this one had me begging for more. I thought the last Boston Blood book was my favourite, but this one has officially stolen that spot.
Chiara started off as a shy, keep to herself kind of girl who was used to doing what was expected of her, but as the story progressed, I absolutely loved watching her come into her own. She started making her own decisions, standing up for what she believed was right, and refusing to let other people dictate how she should live her life. She was done being told what to do and how to act, and I was HERE FOR IT!
Then we have our blonde, blue eyed Lucas, the mafia’s second in command. He’s not afraid to resort to violence, and I’m internally screaming because, let’s be honest, I LOVE when a man takes charge.
Lucas doesn’t realize what he has until it’s taken away from him, and losing Chiara drives him absolutely crazy. He becomes completely obsessed with getting her back, and when I say he’s willing to tear the entire world apart for her… I mean it. And that is exactly the kind of burn the world for me energy I love in an MMC.
I also loved that Chiara didn’t simply give in. She wanted her freedom, and she fought for it, even though deep down, her feelings for Lucas were still very much there. And the things Lucas did to win her heart? Some were definitely over the top, but WHO DOESN’T LOVE THAT?! 😂
The moments when he talked to her about his cars and what he wanted to do with them, and with her had me swooning. There was just something about those conversations that I absolutely loved.
And that ending?! I was in TEARS. I’m a sucker for a good HEA, and the whole thing with Lucas having the garden redone and lined with her favourite flowers? My heart was swooning all over again.
This book had obsession, spice, possessiveness, romance, and all the mafia goodness I could ask for. Absolutely devoured it! Now I’m just sitting here wondering how I’m supposed to move on. 😭

ARC Review
I went into this part of the series, not really sure in what direction she was going to take the story of Chiara and Lucas. I wondered if it would live up to the other two books…. Maaaaan…
I gasped, I gusped and clenched my imaginary pearls. I cursed and I’ve cried. All the feels were felt
And the twists, perfection!
Lucas Romano…. Broooo. This man… that’s all I can say without spoiling it
Elena has created these men that are so perfectly possessive in the way that us dark romance readers fawn over

I typically bounce around a series based on tropes, but I read Elena Woods Boston Blood Dark Mafia Romance in order, even though it can be read as a standalone. How can I not? If Obsessive/Possessive MMC is your type, then you’ll love each one. Especially Lucas in Book 3, My Sunfall. He’s known as the playboy/womanizer. The one that doesn’t do relationships. But Chiara is different.
I loved Chiara. She’s tough. She’s worked hard to be where she’s at, and it showed. After losing her mother and then unexpectedly her father, everything falls apart for her. I loved how assertive Lucas was and how quickly he thought on his feet when he needed to. Marriage was the only answer, but it was worth it in the end.
My Sunfall, like the other two books before it, is also filled with action, suspense, and a bit of mystery with a whodunit twist that I really liked. And the spice scenes were poppin’ in this one—definitely a winner.

I’ve been waiting for this book for a LONG while 😭 Ever since I read the prologue in My Ghost, I knew Chiara and Lucas were going to give us something special. And after finishing it… I was right.
But first, Elena Woods. Her writing has such a distinctive, elevated style that reading her books feels like stepping into the world of the classics that became milestones in our lives: Les Misérables, The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, Peter Pan… And then she gives us Manticore, the Cheshire Cat, Apollo, and all those little references that made me smile the biggest smile ever. 😭 I absolutely love how she weaves them into her stories.
Chiara has spent her life feeling like she’s living someone else’s life, waiting for her own to begin. At twenty-six, she finally decides to choose herself and Lucas, the golden boy she has loved for years. Her Phoebus, her Sun God. She wants to tell him how she feels, only to hear that she’s just a friend who has no one else. Devastated, insecure, and desperate for a life of her own, she disappears.
Lucas completely loses his mind. The charming, carefree womanizer of the trio (Damiano, Matteo, and Lucas) suddenly becomes obsessed with finding her, neglecting everything else until she’s all he can think about. Her disappearance ripped him open and revealed a side of him, a blackness, we’d never seen before: dark, jealous, possessive, ruthless, and completely unhinged. Once he finds her, there is absolutely no way he’s letting her go again. His obsession spirals into something dark, painful, and honestly shocking to read. He wants to punish her for leaving him...
But Chiara is NOT weak. And even when Lucas tries to take control, she keeps fighting him. Then comes the marriage… because apparently they had no other option to avoid a war. 😭 “My wife.” He won't let anyone take her from her, whatever the cost.

And Lucas will do whatever it takes to make sure she never leaves him again and never needs anyone but him. She is his “Sunfall.”
Elena Woods has become such a special author to me, and I genuinely appreciate her more than I can put into words... more than she’d ever know. There’s something about her writing that completely pulls me into her worlds, and My Sunfall was no exception.
It was painful, obsessive, dark, emotional, and absolutely delicious.
And Elena… you know I’m always here for your particular brand of crazy. I love you. 🖤

Y’all I am shook! Elena has done it again. My Sunfall is told in dual POV, has a medium to fast pace, is set in a contemporary world that’s easy to digest with equal parts plot, character building, and delicious spice. Damiano, Matteo, Lucas, Lucas, Matteo, Damiano! Too bad these book boyfriends are not the sharing type (insert image of me fanning myself) because I can’t choose who’s love story I enjoyed more. Lucas and Chiara’s transformations though, are top notch. From the small homages paid to Victor Hugo’s The Hunchback of Notre-Dame where saving the neglected cathedral is important to the liberating feeling of finally being free to truly be yourself in your own skin and on your own terms. My Sunfall is a true example of beautiful writing. My only complaint is it is OVER!!!! Lucky for me, books are forever and I can re-read the Boston Blood series. Please note, although these are interconnected stories, it is best to read them in order to completely understand the plot. From a series standpoint, I really enjoy seeing glimpses of the “gang” and the true possessive nature these mafia men embody.
As always when enjoying dark romance, be sure to check the trigger warnings first BUT if you enjoy found family, mafia vibes, age gaps, fake marriages, touch her and 💀, morally black mmc’s, and non-con/dub-con stories My Sunfall is a must read.

This book surprised me immensely; it far exceeded my expectations.
Poor Chiara, she's been in love with Lucas for years. Chiara is a mafia princess; her mother raised her to be the perfect wife, manipulating her rise to power to suit her own purposes. After her mother's death and betrayal, her life changes completely. Her father becomes an alcoholic and hurts her with insults. Lucas has always been there for her as a friend. At a party, she overhears Lucas telling his ex that Chiara is just a friend and that nothing will ever happen between them. This deeply wounds Chiara, and tired of her life and unable to make decisions, she decides to run away, to leave everything behind.
Lucas is almost the ideal man: fun, cheerful, polite, but is he a womanizer? 🤐 Everything changes when Chiara runs away. The brilliant man disappears; he has become cold, moody, and selfish. He has stopped flirting, he has completely lost his mind, and he won't stop until he finds Chiara.
I had Lucas's personality in mind; I thought he would be the same with Chiara to win her over, but no, he had to make her obsessed with him.

TL/DR: The beginning fails to grab the reader, the mechanics of the story are awkwardly skewed to support the way the author wants the story to go, the characters and the storyline lack depth.
Right off the bat we have another gala. That’s 3 of 3 books starting at a gala (but not the same gala so it isn’t a layering story). Had it been layering the different viewpoints of everyone from that same gala it would’ve created some much needed depth to the story.
There’s only the FMC’s viewpoint for the first few chapters in each book which adds to the lack of depth in the story. There are perfect opportunities for the MMCs POV that are ignored. In this particular book having Lucas’ POV from when Chiara goes to the restroom and having his conversation with Tiffany as a 1st person so we got some of his inner monologue would’ve been an improvement. Could still pick up with Chiara after that echoing what she heard, then add in the run in with Nathan as she ‘s walking away, further prompting her to flee the gala.
Then a mafia princess and mafia don’s sister in law disappears and they’re just cool with it. We know that Erin knows it was Chiara’s choice, and that she lets Lily know this. But the Don should’ve seen this as a concerning problem and doesn’t. Then the interrogation of her driver is stopped by the Don? In every other mafia book I’ve read the whole household staff would be questioned. And what kind of interrogation was it because it seemed pretty mild by mafia standards.
I’ll be honest. I DNF’d at the end of chapter 9. Maybe the story will be amazing. My Ghost ended up being better than I expected. But we’re 3 books in of me convincing myself to keep going and I’m just over it.
I should’ve DNF’d early in book 1 when I first considered it and saved myself the time. Each book and the series overall need to be reworked.

Then a mafia princess and mafia don’s sister in law disappears and they’re just cool with it. We know that Erin knows it was Chiara’s choice, and that she lets Lily know this. But the Don should’ve seen this as a concerning problem and doesn’t. Then the interrogation of her driver is stopped by the Don? In every other mafia book I’ve read the whole household staff would be questioned. And what kind of interrogation was it because it seemed pretty mild by mafia standards.
I’ll be honest. I DNF’d at the end of chapter 9. Maybe the story will be amazing. My Ghost ended up being better than I expected. But we’re 3 books in of me convincing myself to keep going and I’m just over it.
I should’ve DNF’d early in book 1 when I first considered it and saved myself the time. Each book and the series overall need to be reworked.

And Lucas this man had me frustrated, angry, swooning, and yelling at my phone all at the same time. 😂 He starts off as the charming, carefree guy who seems to have everyone wrapped around his finger, but seeing how completely Chiara’s absence affects him was EVERYTHING. His obsession with her definitely takes things into dark romance territory, but also loved getting to see the softer side of him underneath all that possessiveness.
I really loved the emotional connection between these two. There were moments where I wanted to shake Lucas, and there were moments where I just wanted to hug Chiara.
I also really loved Chiara’s relationship with Lily and Erin. Those friendships gave the story some much needed lighter moments, and I loved seeing that Chiara had people who genuinely cared about her even when she couldn’t see her own worth.

This was the third book in the Boston Blood series, but it could be read as an interconnected standalone. This installment was by far the most dark in my opinion. There was so much intensity and emotion throughout this entire read. I am not sure I have seen a MMC this completely overtaken by obsession.

There were times it became borderline uncomfortable with the interactions between Lucas (MMC) and Chiara (FMC) until it became clear and obvious how much she was on board. (No spoilers). This was such a dark and haunting love story, watching both characters find their way back from the deep end.
Please make sure you read your trigger warnings before diving in. This is not for the beginning Dark Romance reader in my opinion. This was a 4.5 ⭐, 3 🌶️ read. I was so glad to experience the absolute utter devastation within.

I really loved Chiara and Lucas. Chiara has the biggest crush on Lucas and finally decides she wants to tell him how she feels… until something she overhears completely stops her in her tracks.
Then came this quote:
“It’s like…I’m living someone else’s life and waiting for mine to start.”
And that’s exactly what she does. She disappears to start fresh, needing to get away and figure out her life. But her absence makes Lucas realise just how much she had become a part of his.
And this man…
He is FERAL for her. No, actually, worse than feral. He needs her to breathe, to function, and when he realises she’s gone, he is NOT messing around. My god, does this man go and get her!
And the gym scene?! I was GASPING.
ON. HIS. FACE.
I loved watching their relationship unfold, and that ending was absolutely perfect. It was exactly what was needed and left me very happy!

I devoured all 3 books in this series and I loved everyone of them!! Yes they are dark and the men are...forceful and very demanding of their women but their women still love them!!
This book alone had my full attention from the very start, mainly because I like the misunderstanding trope 🤭.
I was so excited to read Chiara and Lucas' book from he very first book in the series and it didn't disappoint!! I love that they were friends first before she left. It was heart wrenching to read both their pov's of what happened the night of the gala. While it does suck for the misunderstanding it was amazing to hear how Chiara built her life up and tried to move on and make something of herself. When Lucas finds her all bets are off, he hilarious in the way he stalks her and she gets so mad about it.
I loved the background story going on with the Manticore’s and how it traveled in all 3 books. And I loved how it ended!!
All in all I absolutely loved this series and I can't wait for more!! Also 👀👀 if we happen to get a book about Judge Calloway I wouldn't be sad 🤭🤭 he seems like fun.

The writing is perfect and flawless! So addictive and the book is so easy to get into. There's definitely a few heavy TWs in there so check those out.

Lucas Romano is the perfect example of an unhinged and obsessive MMC and holy smokes he was hot!! 🥵 He totally lost it when Chiara disappeared and becomes obsessed with finding her!
And Chiara such an amazing, strong FMC!! After been let down and devastated by it she decided to disappear and grew stronger every day away from home.
The chemistry between them was so hot!! You could feel the fire between them. The story is so descriptive and intense and I really enjoyed every single chapter!

Lucas Romano is the perfect example of an unhinged and obsessive MMC and holy smokes he was hot!! 🥵 He totally lost it when Chiara disappeared and becomes obsessed with finding her!
And Chiara such an amazing, strong FMC!! After been let down and devastated by it she decided to disappear and grew stronger every day away from home.
The chemistry between them was so hot!! You could feel the fire between them. The story is so descriptive and intense and I really enjoyed every single chapter!
Highly recommend this book AND this entire series!!

Chiara starts off in book one as Lily's shy sister who always does what her parents expect of her, but in this book something in her shifts as she really finds her inner confidence and doesn't let anyone dictate her life anymore.
Lucas doesn't realise what was right in front of him until Chiara leaves, after hearing him say he would never want to be with her (silly drunken comment). He goes crazy trying to find her, and his personality becomes dark and obsessive, he will hurt anyone who gets in his way of finding her.
When he eventually finds her, she is having none of it, and even after he captures her she doesn't give in to him. Which i absolutely loved about her, especially as she has loved him for years.
The things Lucas does to win her heart are indeed dark, questionable and over the top, id say he is the most possessive of the 3 mafia brothers. But ive come to realise thats how they show their love.
There were so many twists and turns in this book, some emotional and some completely unexpected.
I highly recommend this book and the series.

I loved My Monster, I loved My Ghost, but I adored My Sunfall.
Chiara and Lucas, who we’ve come to know and love as side characters, finally take centre stage—and together they’re absolutely explosive. Their story has been quietly building in the background of the previous two books, and getting to finally watch everything between them unfold was so worth the wait.
I loved discovering completely different sides to both of these characters, and their chemistry? Sizzling. Their history, tension, and feelings for each other made this one so easy to get completely consumed by.
And honestly, I’m a sucker for a second-chance romance with no cheating, so this one was always going to get me.
I think this might have been my favorite book from the Boston Blood series.

Lucas, after he couldn't find her, had a lightbulb 🤔💡moment and realized he had feelings for Chiara. He was frantic, using all resources to locate her. Once he found her, he made it known that no matter what, he was not letting her go.
Their chemistry is incendiary, the chase is fascinating, and the ending is as it should be.

My, my, my... this was such a dark, spicy, and unexpected read. I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series, so I couldn't wait to dive into this one. Even then, I wasn't prepared for the twists Elena Woods had in store because this story completely shocked my senses.

Chiara removes herself from Lucas’ life and it drives him crazy. She overhears his conversation and is heartbroken by it thus she decides to start a new life.
This is the perfect “you don’t know how good you have it until it is gone”. Lucas is an obsessive man and even more so for the woman he loves. Chiara is not a doormat and I just loved her. These two have tremendous chemistry and it radiates off the pages. This was a definite page turner and make the reader add the author’s backlist to the TBR list.

Elena does it again! Another one of her books I read in less than a day. I feel like I’ve been waiting patiently for Lucas and Christa’s story and it felt so rewarding to finally read it! Sweet sweet Chiara, you are SO much more than you give yourself credit for and we do love a man FINALLY coming to his senses! Ohh this book was everything I hoped for!

Elena Woods has kept me as a through all of her books. This is Book 3 of the Boston Blood series. You will love it as much as the others. Lucas and Chiara have a great book and it will make you not want to put it down. It quickly became one of my favorites and I will definitely read the series again.

i'd say this is the spiciest of the series. i wish the friendship backstory could've been explored more. but, their chemistry got so much more intense as the story goes. the ending introduced some new twist that felt slightly forced and rushed.

This is a dark themed mafia romance with an age gap, trauma, possessive relationship and a loaded chemistry.
Fascinating and intriguing characters are pushing the story. The storyline is interesting and keeps up a good pace.
Overall I think it’s a very good book in its genre of dark mafia romance.

This story did keep me drawn in, just when I thought everything was great something would put me back on the edge of the seat.
I didn't find it overly dark however I usually read a lot darker but this had a good mix of spice, dark elements (read the triggers) and a good story line.
