I forgot to write the blurb again. 16 years next week being a published author and I still dread and forget. Shoutout to those of you who have been around since the start or most of that. Love your faces. Hope this made the rest of you giggle and I will get a blurb up here. No one's perfect and sometimes it's just better to admit that. Okay, enough rambling.
I promise the book is good though. I'm really having fun with the series!

so…..

I love Ms Flynn…
I want to write this gently.. it is reading along the lines of tasmins story and bevins. I understand the world is sexist and regardless of how many women we have in power it’s still not enough. There women who are pick me and will always drag other women down. But, maybe spice it up a bit? Onyx reminds me of Tasmin’s warlock mate. And kole reminds me of the bear who had multiple personality disorder. I also would like to remind anyone who reads my review I don’t have 1/10th of the talent ms Flynn has nor would I ever attempt to pretend that I do. I also remember another author writing that they write where the characters take them and maybe this was just a storyline that fit? I enjoyed both books. I love/loved both Bevin and Tasmin’s stories. I love Sagan also, just maybe change the storyline if the characters speak to you? 10/10 will definitely recommend

sure…

Liked it,but the sexism talk is getting really overdone. I’m a feminist, but this came off a little man-hating to me. Some discussion is fine and I agree with almost all of it, but enough already. I want more actual plot. Preaching to the choir this much gets boring. And the scenes where I half expect the cliche of “and everyone clapped”. I’ve read almost all of her books and love them, but this is where she loses me.

MFMMMM - I thought I’d try sampling this author again though her first series didn’t work for me. Conclusion, I’m simply not the target reader

cannot wait for the next book …

Soooo that happened.. honestly what a book. I love how our MC keeps evolving and we get to see that yes she’s incredible but also has her faults and doubts. We get to see a little more of her heart and not gonna lie I a few tears escaped in some scenes. The storyline it’s just that good that you can’t put the book down. If I were to say anything “negative” would be why do the guys suck ? Literally not one.. well that’s a lie I kinda have my eye on a certain prince but who knows where that goes… but I just feel for our girl literally not of them sound worthy… and just plain selfish. However I’ll keep hoping that someone or a couple step up because so far I found them lacking.

Sidenote- it’s kinda sad how much I felt for the MC because I see now more than ever how women are treated. I guess dragons and humans are pretty similar… so thank you to the author for this story I feel it deeply and I’m hoping just like our girl that there is change for us.

Prospects book 2

Book two of series. Sagan, our dragon shifter, is now Queen. She remains pressured to select a mate(s) from the various Alpha Heirs. This book gives us a better understanding of her upbringing and her double dragon issue. I tried to view this New world construct as different from the Artemis series, but so much of the politics remains similar. Honestly Sagan's poor me, all men suck, attitude gets boring after a while. Granted I also agree with her, but it would be nice if the story had a few positive interactions. It seems unrealistic that every male she meets is a conniving sexist moron. Sagan, like Tamsin, is always right and oh so clever at rooting out evil and conspiracies. In each potential relationship, the male inevitably screws up and she just mentally shakes her head. It would be nice if she just had some fun without expectations. The results are exhausting. But, I did enjoy this story, read it all eagerly, and look forward to continuing. I just hope it doesn't end up a 20 book saga of despair and disappointment.

an… interesting read

I found this a very odd book to read. So many sentences and conversations feel abruptly cut off, like we’re missing pieces of what should have been full scenes. It creates gaps in context that make the story harder to follow, especially when the plot leans heavily on PR spin, political fallout, and the logistics of running a country after a ruler dies.
What’s strange is how little the fantasy elements matter. The dragon/shifter aspect barely influences the worldbuilding or the plot, and the story rarely explores anything unique to a fantasy setting. It often reads more like a political drama with dragons pasted in, rather than a fantasy series that actually uses its own lore.
Because of that, the shifter/dragon angle feels unnecessary… the story doesn’t focus on the interesting parts of the genre, and the fantasy elements never really get the development they need.

incredible per usual!

Another amazing story by this author. I am loving Sagan, the FMC. She’s a baddie, bold, and knows her worth! The MMCs are… eh. But that’s more so due to the storyline, not necessarily the MMCs personalities. I love that Sagan has close friends and family she can rely on, and that the plot continues to thicken!

Here’s hoping the author gets these MMCs in line. I don’t think the date Onyx took Sagan on really fits his personality or how he’s acted in the series thus far. It was surprising and disappointing. He’s not shown himself to be selfish in this way, so that was weird. Same with Thorn. He was all about her and then he did a complete 180 and was a prick. It was hard to read.

Overall, another great book! Can’t wait for the next one!

Sagan is a bada$$!!

I'm thoroughly enjoying this series. There are lots of twists and turns and it's intriguing to have an unpredictable story line. I'll also add I love a good spicy book like the next person but this book is WAY more than that. It touches on body image, partner abuse, effects of parental neglect, and the emotional toll and not knowing who you can trust. I was rooting for Thorn and Ones and the predictable arc would have our FMC choose them but now, I really have no idea if she's going to keep either one. It seriously looks like she won't. Loving the shock factor and can't wait for the next one. Impressed Ms Flynn, very impressed.

Was not expecting that.

So I know that Erin R Flynn doesn't write cuddly books about familial love and understanding at the beginning of the story, but the amount of rage that I feel about Satan's deceased parents just jumped up in levels. I was not disappointed in this addition and I'm glad that I purchased it! I would love to see more interactions between Sagan and her inner dragons (I really want her to fly more because she deserves it), plus I was curious about some of the introduction meals and how those went, but overall a fantastic read that I had a hard time putting down. 🙂

I’m Definitely Hooked !

A brilliant follow up from book 1. Being the sole heir to the throne of Thorvudin has resulted in crippling loneliness for Sagan De La Rosa. Now she’s been crowned Queen on her own terms, without the support of the Elders or the High Priest. Her job is an uphill battle against corruption. She does have some help though but now even her ‘help’ needs extra help. She has a plan though and it started with an illegal fight ring to earn money to prevent the country from going bankrupt.

Now though she has to endure the crazy that is interviewing the prospective mate candidates, fun times, if only.

Amazing.

I've read all of Erin's backlog at this point (over 100???!?!) and Sagan has now claimed the spot of my favorite FMC. House of Garner used to be my favorite but I have a feeling this will take the top spot but it's gonna be hard to beat a zombie apocalypse. If you haven't read anything else from Erin R. Flynn you can't go wrong with the OG Artemis University or if you like a little Greek mythology try Karma Bakery. If a long series isn't your vibe her trilogies are top notch too.

Badass Heroin

Erin R Flynn does it yet again! The prospects series is hugely addictive with a strong and passionate female lead with real and imperfect male interests that make lots of mistakes. Sagan is powerful, incredibly intelligent yet emotionally vulnerable as she takes the throne and fixes the mistakes of her parents and combats both corruption and sexism. Slowly but surely we meet the possible love interests and the relationships that grow are slow paced and realistic. I am so excited to read Sagan's story.

meh

I feel like this book is very similar to another series that the author has written. A naive but strong female character who literally explains herself way too much and male characters that aren’t allowed to make mistakes. It makes it hard to relate to Sagan because everyone that makes a mistake isn’t allowed to make up for it or she doesn’t explain why she’s upset. It feels very childish almost and a little removed from reality. It’s hard to read and the world building isn’t in the story but said in conversation instead if that makes sense?

love this story

Can’t wait for the next book!
Love the writing and every bit of the hard stuff sagan is going through but i wish there was more romance she is definitely handling a lot of problems and the sexism is a problem but the talke about it is exhausting.
I am guessing that this is a build up for the story and the characters but it was too much for me
Otherwise the Fmc is totally badass 😍 love it!

This second entry into the new Prospects series felt like a great next step. We started to get into the meat of the story line, learned more about some of our "prospects" and wrapped up a few things from the first book. I'm enjoying a more mature fmc from Erin who is further along in her leadership journey than just starting out like some of the leading ladies from her other series. Looking forward to seeing who else emerges as a top mating candidate. Oh, and a quick mention for that cliffy - can't wait to see who is chosen ;).

another great read!

I’m really coming to love Sagan! She continues the tradition of stronger, female, main characters, and I love the blunt challenges she tosses out on a regular basis. I am always excited to read everything you produce. I always look forward to to the next story, whoever it’s Ben. I’ve read just about everything. You’ve done some probably two or three times each. You’re amazing.

Dynamic

This is book 2 about a young princess who has to take the throne after her parents are killed in a plane crash. Now she is trying to get rid of her crazy ex-boyfriend and people who are trying to control her in a country that thinks women should be barefoot and pregnant. They are about to find out that she is no push over and she is going to do what is best for the country and while she at it find out where the treasury went.

Enjoying the new series

One of the many things I love about Ms Flynn's stories is the strong female leads she writes. Sagan is a great character, smart, confident in herself and ready to stand up for what's right. The men in her life are an interesting mix while not being cookie cutter of each other. So far my favorite is Joris.

Amazing Sequel

The story has started to pick up as Sagan officially takes over as Queen and I love how smart and capable she is a protagonist! While drowning in the piles of issues left for her to deal with she continues to move forward and I am so excited to see where her story goes. Also, I need more Joris!!!

strong Fmc

Enjoying the series. I just want poor Sagan to get a break sometime! I do love that she has some great girl friends around her, but the other male suitors other than Joris are really disappointing (purposefully I think.) but I’m definitely invested in Sagan. Strong, outspoken and doesn’t let people walk all over her.

another great read

Another great read by Erin. As always with her writing I always want just one more chapter. I had really high hopes for Onyx but after this installment I just don’t think he’s the right one. The new guy pricked my interest tho. We shall see how it goes in the next book

One of the best yet

This series is one of Erin’s best yet. The main character is so great. Her story and how her past trauma is showing and made her into the person she is today. Erin knows how to write characters that you just love and invest in how they will turn out. I cannot wait to see where the story goes. I was so sad to see it end.

Good story

I like the story, very enjoyable. Funny points and commentary about our world, both hidden and not, was well done, like always. I just wish that there could be one prospective mate for the FMC that wasn't such an idiot and could not cause issues of any flavor. Overall, this book deserves a 4.5 star rating. Keep up the good work!

Amazing Again

Erin R Flynn always delivers and she did again with book 2 in a really cool new world. I love how she writes about strong women and how they deal with the challenges women face. I highly recommend everything she’s written. And if you haven’t yet read her ongoing series Morrigan University I highly recommend that one too!

Once again….

I am a huge Erin fan and love when a new book comes out! I was super excited to get to start it on the last day of school (middle school teacher). I love Sagan and can’t wait to find out which of the 3, she picks….I have my favorite for sure!

Please continue to write all the amazing stories that I love to get lost in.

Wow!!!!

This poor princess turned queen, can't seem to catch a break for anything. I wouldn't want to be queen of a Nation that was so full of sexism either. We get some answers on important issues like the planes, guards, among other things. We seen some new faces and get to know them a little bit. I can't wait to read the next one. Great job Erin!!!

Fave new series!

And she’s done it again! Such a talented author who creates these magical and often heartbreaking worlds. I’m obsessed again! Sagen reminds me so much of Tams but also so different. I also see we’re dealing with stupid dragons again! I wouldn’t change anything! I’m so glad she has people at her back and can’t wait to devour more!

I'll keep reading.

Not one for reviews. I like the series so far and will continue to buy the next. I'm enjoying the setting but there are so many characters and locations that I think I need another book of context before I have enough info in my head that I can just sit back and enjoy the story.

This was a quick, chill read… not sure how I feel about this series yet. The character feels too much like Tamsin in Artemis University… I do like the world though. Wish there was a bit more focus on the relationships and less on the continuous people drama of her kingdom… would rather there be a bigger problem she needs to address rather than so much gossipy drama.
