I've never heard of this anthology, the editor or any of the authors. This was a completely random kindle freebie selection that definitely paid off. It was really good, occasionally even excellent. Who needs name recognition, when the quality is so there. There might have been one story where the writing came across as somewhat amateurish, but the rest were really good, and, more importantly, all the stories possessed that elusive genre trait, originality. Interesting, different, surprising, clever, unsettling, dark, disturbing, scary...this was just a great bunch of short fiction. Very impressive. Really a must for any horror fan. Highly recommended.
This was a pretty decent horror anthology book. A lot of the stories were just “meh” but there were 4 stories I really liked in this book. I enjoyed the Manifest tragedy story, Isolation, The game, and The silent crowd of tairngyre. This wasn’t a bad anthology by any means but it was pretty predictable. The middle of this book is a slog to get through though as it has the longest story and it wasn’t as interesting as it tried to be. There are also some subtle horror stories in here which I enjoyed but I wish I had more answers to them. Overall, definitely check out this book if you’re looking for some short and simple horror stories.
I'm not familiar with the authors, but this collection pleasantly surprised me. Nothing was bad, but some were better than others. I think my favorite story was Final Descent by G.T. Montgomery. This was a ghost story with plenty of horror, but really was uplifting and optimistic at the same time. The other stories were good as well, although they were more traditional horror stories. If you are looking for a horror anthology to read that may have flown under the radar, I'd say check this one out.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys scary stories. Since ten more words are required to complete my review and I really have nothing further to say, I will now end my review
I like this book! It was nice to read some horror stories. Some were good and some were bad. If you love horror this is a good read. If you are indifferent this won´t make you fall in love with the genre.
Don't waist your time or money on this book. I was very disappointed. It's some of the worst stuff and most didn't make sense, I am being nice with one star. kozetteksmith
