Cracker the cat who wants to get a job. He searches the want ads. Each job he applies to he gets hired to work. Keeping the job is difficult. All of them want a cat to chase the mice. Cracker helps and respects the mice. Finally, he sees a job advertisement in the window of the Squeak & Company Cheese Shop. "Mice would never hire a cat," thinks Cracker.

The cartoon-like illustrations are colorful and funny. The text, coupled with the pictures, is witty. Cracker is a special cat. He doesn't believe in chasing mice because they never have chased him. In the end, Cracker finds a job uniquely suited to his qualifications.

Crackers is a cute kitty who dresses up in a variety of ensembles to snag a variety of jobs. He learns to follow where his friendships (w. mice) take him in order to find the perfect job. All the bosses he encounters except the last expect Crackers to keep mice away as his main job, but never tell him so.

This is a great, goofy tale about expectations based on appearance. Although it does seem a little strange to me that the dogs, beavers and ducks who employ Crackers would be so anti-mouse.

Crackers, the cat, is looking for a job. Each time he goes to interview he chooses clothes to make himself look the part: tough for a security job, fancy for a waiter job, sporty for a lifeguard job. He gets every job he applies for, but it turns out he's not well suited for any of them: he keeps helping out mice instead of doing his work! He needs to find something that will match with his (overly) kind nature.

Cartoony watercolors are a fun match to the story.

Crackers is a cat in need of a job. And while he has no problem getting a job, he has a problem keeping them because he's too kind to mice. Will his kindness pay off in the end when he goes for a job in a Cheese Shop owned by mice?

Cute illustrations.

Crackers the cat has a hard time keeping a job because he refuses to follow the other animals in discriminating against mice. He gains the support of the mice and is helped by them in return.
