A simple dinner. A cute outfit. A chance to prove she was healed, mature, and open to love again.
But when her cousin Raven sets her up with Malachi, a handsome, confident, successful businessman who also happens to be blind, Shamari quickly realizes this is not just a regular blind date. It is a blind blind date — and baby, it goes left before the sweet tea even settles.
Between an ex-girlfriend making a dramatic entrance, a drink flying across the table, family opinions, old wounds, and Shamari’s own fear of trusting a good man, this date turns into a hilarious, heartfelt ride full of drama, comedy, and unexpected chemistry.
Malachi is calm, grown, funny, and steady in a way Shamari is not used to. He does not just hear her jokes. He hears the hurt underneath them. And for a woman who has spent years protecting her heart with sarcasm, that might be the most dangerous thing of all.
Funny, messy, romantic, and full of heart, The Blind Blind Date Went Left is a feel-good urban romantic comedy about taking a chance on love, healing from the past, and learning that sometimes the date that goes left can lead you exactly where you need to be.
Now THAT was the intro I needed to a new author! 🙌🏾 I love, love, love, LOVED this short story! It had the perfect beginning, a captivating middle, and an “I’ll read more of your work” end. Sometimes, shorties can feel incomplete or rushed, but this one was the total package. I don’t think I’ve ever read a romance focused on a blind main character before, so I loved the originality and representation in this book. 👩🏽🦯✨
I laughed out loud from the first page to the last and I connected with the characters instantly. I definitely wanted more of their shenanigans which forced me to resort to lurking in every scene. I needed to be up close and personal to get a better visual of Malachi! Mind ya bizness please! 🙄🤣
I am not mad at this book at all!! The wit, the quips, and the banter gave this story such a down-to-earth, homey feel, like listening to a close friend spill her tea! 🥂
The Aftermath 🌷: This was a fun FIVE-star read for me! The pacing was fluid, the premise was unique, the story progressed rapidly, and Indya did exactly what she came to do. I flew through this in an hour, maybe less. I highly recommend adding this book to your TBR! 🔥
I absolutely loved this story! From the moment I seen the cover I knew I had to read! Funny! Full of meaning with the right dose of everything you would love in a rom com! I’m so glad I read this! I’m still love the writing and characters!
I fell in love with the FMC. Her humor leaves you wanting more to cry laugh a little longer. This short story was sweet and impactful. Thank you for your creativity!
Imagine going on a date a blind day with a man who was actually blind. Blind blind date was hilarious. I cackled so loud this author is hilarious. I love her work, I think I’m on the third book that I found in her catalogue of short stories and is good so a blind blind date is a book about a girl whose cousin set her up on a blind date with a guy she knows who’s actually blind, but what she thought was the date was gonna go a certain way, but it didn’t like he saw her no pun intended, but he saw and she never been seen before. There was some drama a little bit of mess, but this was funny I reckon everyone reading this book. You will not be disappointed.
This was a real funny short story about Shamari and Malachi being set up on a blind date with him actually being blind but very handsome, sexy, and observant. All the things that could go wrong on their first date did but they persevered through the date and later began a beautiful relationship.
Funny and straight to the point. This is a perfect starter book for anyone in a reading slump or just starting to want to read again. Gives you hope about finding love, a few good laughs and just overall a feel good straight to the point short book.
