A great introduction to a new series about a Scottish training school. Cam was destined to remain a blacksmith but fate had other ideas. When his village is burned and his grandfather lost to him, he seeks revenge. He’d heard of The Cal from Isadora who he met in enemy territory. He decides to go to The Cal to learn to fight. Isadora’s father goes to The Cal to purchase a warrior to defend their village. There are a couple of plot twists for the characters and although we know what they are as the reader, you’re left wondering how Cam will react to them. An enjoyable story with an interesting plot.
Another marvellous medieval romance from my favourite author. This is the start of a series based around a place that trains men to be warriors. This place is in Scotland and quite different from the Blackchurch guild that take a "more qualified " fighter and trains them to be unbeatable. We get some very nasty fights and an unlikely hero. Our heroine is strong and brave and will be a big asset in future books. I think. I am sure we will see both characters in the rest of the series. I can't wait to read them. I loved it.
Another amazing adventure you have created!!! I love reading your books because they are so very exciting. The characters as always are very interesting and brave. The adventure was exciting, interesting, and I couldn't put the story down. You create such beautiful adventures!!! Thanks for sharing your world!!!
Not sure if it had to be that way legally or something, but I didn't like going back to the beginning at the end. Should have been at the start, in my opinion. But a good read!
This was a great story, Cam was a blacksmith from Netherton and Isabella was from clan Keith. They meet when they are very young in the Vale of the Demons. When Cam is older he sees her in the village trying to sell her pelts and old feelings return.
