Dawn of the Druia was such a satisfying follow up to Call of the Sidhe and I loved that there wasn’t really a slow restart. We jump straight back into the story and the momentum carries almost immediately.

One of my favourite things about this duet is how easy it is to connect with. The fantasy elements, the prophecy, the magic and the bigger stakes are all there, but it never feels cold or overly complicated. Sommer’s personality and humour shine through so naturally in the writing and it gives the story so much heart. There’s something about it that feels very human despite the huge fantasy world being built.

Brynn was easily the standout for me in this book. She is put through so much emotionally and physically and yet she just keeps going. Watching her navigate everything while still trying to figure out who she is and what she’s capable of made me appreciate her even more as an FMC. She felt strong without losing the softer parts of herself.

I also have to mention the Australian references because they genuinely made me smile. The Woolies moment especially felt so unexpected and fun to see in fantasy.

This book really took me through every emotion. There were plot twists I didn’t see coming, moments that shocked me, scenes that made me laugh, and so many found family moments that made me feel ridiculously attached to everyone. Then the ending completely wrecked me. I was crying enough that my boyfriend looked over and asked if I was okay… which honestly tells you everything.

If you enjoyed Call of the Sidhe, definitely continue with this one. Bigger emotions, higher stakes and a really strong ending to the duet.

Holy Potatoes, My Heart Never Stood a Chance

I knew this book would hurt, but I was not prepared for that ending. It took me an hour to work up the courage to read the final chapter, I was left sobbing in the second last chapter. I immediately messaged Sommer to tell her I loved her… and that she’d broken my heart.

This duet has everything I want in fantasy, humour that lands perfectly, found family, incredible banter, romance that aches, and twists that kept me guessing until the very end. Brynn is the kind of heroine you can’t help but root for, and Tate owns a permanent place in my heart.

One quote that will stay with me forever is, “You are the wild song in my veins, the fire that burns me whole, my endless home.”

And somehow, between all the emotional devastation, Sommer still had me laughing over “Holy potatoes.”

This book didn’t just break my heart. It ripped it out, stitched it back together, then handed it back with emotional damage and a smile. I’d read it all over again in a heartbeat.

I genuinely don’t know how to put this book into words.

One minute I was laughing, the next I was stressed, then my heart was breaking, and somehow Sommer still managed to throw more chaos at me. I became so attached to these characters that every decision felt personal, and there were definitely a few moments where I just had to put the book down and process what had happened.

I loved getting lost in this world. It felt like every chapter gave me another reason to keep saying, “Just one more.”

Sommer, I am so unbelievably proud of you. Watching this book finally make it into readers’ hands has been so special, and it deserves all the love it’s going to get and has got so far. Thank you for taking us on this emotional rollercoaster, even if I still haven’t forgiven you for some of those chapters.

Now excuse me while I impatiently wait for the next one. 😉😉

I binged this duology in 4 days because I genuinely could not get enough of this world and story. 🖤✨

Dawn of the Duria delivered everything I want from a dark romantasy — fated mates, found family, world hopping, dark themes, and that “touch her and unalive” level of devotion that keeps you hooked.

It’s a world that completely pulled me in. The betrayals, the danger, the connections between characters — I was invested and needed to know what would happen next. The balance of darker moments with the bonds and relationships forming throughout made this one impossible to put down.

If you love immersive fantasy worlds, intense chemistry, morally grey energy and a story that has you saying “just one more chapter” until you’ve finished the book… this duology deserves a spot on your TBR. 🖤

This book is absolutely phenomenal!

I loved everything including the plot, setting, and characters. There were some moments that made me rethink everything I've just read, but that only added to my intrigue. This book fulfilled all of my expectations! I adored how there were so many genres/tropes incorporated like action, humor, and romance. Of course, there were some times I almost cried, but that just shows how moving this story is. This book is so well done, and I recommend readers to invest their time in this story!

I absolutely loved this! The world-building was rich and immersive, and the mix of ancient magic, prophecy, and romance kept me hooked from the first page. Brynn and Tate were such easy characters to root for, and I loved watching their relationship grow alongside the high-stakes plot.
There were so many twists that kept me turning the pages, and the ending has me desperate for the next book. If you love romantasy with powerful magic, found family, and fate-bound romance, definitely add this one to your TBR!

Holy potato's this was great!!!! I absolutely loved this final book in the duoology and feel very satisfied with how it ended. I was entertained and engaged the entire way through, which is a feat! I love the authors world building and mythology mixed with Aussie slang and woolies, bloody lol! The internal monologue moments of fucksticks and fucken cardio absolutely sent me! Gold! I had a small heart attack at the end which was a great thrill! Great job Sommer!

But she did it! It ended so well it was paced so well in the end and my heart cannot take the ending!!!

I love Tate and Brynn, the found family and all the twists and turns. i do wish we got more because i didn't want to stop reading about them at all!

After devouring the first book I was waiting anxiously for this book to be released and stalking the authors socials in anticipation.

Dawn of the Druia is exactly what I had wished for. It leaps straight back into the action where we were left at the end of book 1 and the adventure, twists and turns do not disappoint.

The spice is amazing and the banter had me laughing out loud!

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to read Dawn of the Druia as an ARC reader and I had such a good time reading it! Sommer's writing has developed so beautifully since Call of the Sidhe and as a result this story was compelling, immersive and witty all at the same time!

If you love tension, spice and magic then this book is for you!

Sommer, I am so proud of you and how far you've come in your writing.
After reading the call of the sidhe, this story truly was everything I'd hoped it would be in more.
TRAUMA AND ALL.

The layering of the banter, the twists and turns that i didn't see coming and the heartwarming story was so so incredible.

You so deserve this 5 star!!

I was so excited to pick up this sequel to Call Of The Sidhe, since I loved that book so much! This did not disappoint!

Picking up where the last book left off, Brynn finds herself held prisoner by the Merrow, subjected to all kinds of torture and violence. Their sinister plans for her left me feeling sick and heartbroken.

Meanwhile Tate is totally lost as to where Brynn has gone, and sets out in search to find her and rescue her. There is nothing that will stop him from rescuing his Vicious Bon!

The Celtic inspired world and story contains lots of magic, danger, shocking twists and politics. If you love a romantasy with a swoony MMC, a powerful FMC, fae folklore and found family, you won’t be able to put this one down (just remember to read book 1 first!)

This was a beautiful conclusion to this story. A perfect follow on from book one, jumping right back into the story and giving us a little heartache along the way. One twist I did NOT see coming and was HIGHLY concerned but then extremely happy with the ending. I’ll miss this little world.
