Take 2 by Ruchi Singh is a beautiful, deeply engaging book that tells a story of heartbreak, redemption, and finding the courage to search for a second chance at happiness.
The story introduces Priya, a young woman trapped in a miserable marriage with Sameer, a selfish husband who only used her for her earnings while openly cheating on her. When her marriage breaks down, she finds herself on an intense emotional rollercoaster. Then came Abhimanyu (Abhi), a chance encounter who quickly becomes her biggest support system, ally, and defender. Their relationship develops beautifully, shifting from initial hesitation into a deep, meaningful connection packed with delightful, well-behaved chemistry.
What truly sets this book apart is the realistic portrayal of societal double standards. This book is not just a love story, it also represents how much society judges a woman. They won't see what your partner is doing, they'll always point fingers at you. While Priya's husband is out wasting her inheritance and messing around, and openly cheating on her, still some people expects her to just meekly accept it or fight to save a dead marriage. It's Priya's mistake that her husband is cheating on her. I mean like seriously?????? The story clearly shows that ugly face of our reality, and I really, really liked when Priya finally decided not to listen to society, but to follow her heart. Watching her step out of those shackles and reclaim her value was so empowering.
Abhimanyu is an absolute dream of a hero, he is pure gem🤌🏼he is compassionate, strong-willed, and completely protective without ever overstepping. He shows so much respect and loved her even though she was running away from him. This story also shows great friendships and found family elements which added so much depth to the story.
I just finisheda Hindi book- Take 2 - Nazron Ka Khel by @ruchiwriter and I have to say, I liked it. I loved it especially, because of the whole strong FMC scenario. I love it when women empowerment is showcased in a book 📖
The FMC, Priya is that damsel in distress but also fierce, the kind of girl who doesn’t go down without a fight. And then there is Abhimanyu, our MMC. He is successful, hot, eligible bachelor, an awesome cook and a gentle soul.🤌🏻
The whole story starts when Abhi sees Priya at a pub and for him it’s love at first sight. He has never felt this strongly for anyone, but then he finds out Priya is already married and his heart is just crushed. 💔
What I personally felt while reading Priya’s part is how real her pain is. Her husband Sameer is cheating on her, and torn from that news, the last thing she wants is attention from another man. When Sameer asks for divorce, she is not even ready for it, she just wants to somehow go back and fix things with him and stay away from Abhi, or at least that’s what she tells herself. But destiny keeps throwing Priya and Abhi together, and that’s where the title Take 2 makes sense. It’s so close yet so far, they both fight the attraction they feel for each other. ❤️
Priya, even though she is broken, has that streak of self-esteem which makes you like her instantly, and Abhi with his chivalry and cooking just wins you over. I also loved Aditi and Rahul’s banter. It’s not just a fluffy romance. It asks that one big question - will Priya be able to look past her troubled past and give life a second chance at happiness?🥹
Take 2 : Nazron Ka Khel is a lovely story where pain, sacrifices and betrayal in love have been beautifully protrayed alongside the difficulties it takes in healing, acceptance of bitter truths and treading carefully forward in rediscovering second chances and also adapting to changes afterwards. The book, which also explores the beauty and depth of friendships, have been written in simple Hindi language and a quirky writing style making it very interesting to read.
Priya is a strong-willed lady and a sentimental one who doesn't like to let go of past and takes all steps to ensure that she can somehow get it back even if it shatters her. Abhimanyu is a thorough gentleman who with his great cooking skills and his unconditional help to Priya in her difficult mission to make her realise the truth makes appears to make a very good impression on the reader.
I loved the camaraderie between Abhimanyu and Priya and whether their beautiful bond later takes on a romantic turn or they remain as good friends is very intriguing. Abhimanyu’s help to Priya without any harsh judgements is truly commendable.
Meanwhile, the friendships of Komal and Aditi with Priya and how they tried to explain to a moody Priya to change her perspectives is very heartwarming. The office drama and competitive office environment is also described wonderfully here
It's been a long time since I picked up a Hindi novel, and टेक 2: नज़रों का खेल was such a beautiful one to return to. Priya's journey of heartbreak, healing, and finding herself again felt emotional and relatable, while Abhimanyu completely won my heart with his kindness and patience. The simple writing, slow-burn romance, and heartfelt friendships made this a comforting and engaging read. A lovely choice if you enjoy second chance romances with strong emotional depth🤍
Priya and Abhimanyu's story is a slow burn second chance at love story. Priya is married to sameer who is cheating on her, returns for money. Their relationship is turing toxic and Abhimanyu's feelings for her are affecting her life.
Sometimes the right person arrives when your heart is already broken. It's an emotional journey of strong female lead Priya. Abhimanyu is unforgettable character. This is about heartbreak and romance, moving on in life 💔
