Property of Nash: Kings of Anarchy MC, West Virginia, 1

Rate this book
Cassie Berry hasn't set foot in West Virginia in over ten years. She left without a goodbye and built a life as a concert violinist, with no plans to ever return to the small Appalachian town that broke her heart. But when her brother suddenly dies, she's pulled back to Clifton Ridge—where the past plays louder than any piece she's ever performed.

Nash Walker has spent the last decade hardening into the man who runs the Ridge. As president of the Kings of Anarchy motorcycle club, he knows blood. He knows betrayal. He knows hard roads and heavier rides. But nothing could have prepared him for Cassie's return—

One look and it all fire, fury, and everything he never got the chance to say.

Cassie didn't come back for closure.

And she sure as hell didn't come for Nash.

But Nash isn't a man who can be ignored.

She was his once, and he'll be damned if he's going to lose her again.

What's buried in Clifton Ridge just kicked over and started to growl.

And if Cassie and Nash want to survive the past—and each other—they'll have to face the truth before it devours them both.

"Lyrical and emotionally raw, Property of Nash is a story of grief and resilience, family and forgiveness, and the merciless gravity of first love."

Madeleine Sheehan is one of my favourite authors, and it's been 10 years since I read her last book. I'm happy to say she didn't disappoint.

Cassie returns home after 12 years away. She's an accomplished violinist who performs all over the world. She left West Virginia in search of bigger and better things, but in doing so, she also left behind her childhood sweetheart, Nash.

Nash has moved on with his life within the motorcycle club and is now its president. During the years Cassie has been gone, he's become harder and more guarded, doing what he needed to do to survive and move forward.

But when he sees Cassie storming back into the club, those old feelings quickly resurface. Cassie, however, has her own battles to face, and long-buried secrets begin to emerge. Can Nash stop Cassie from leaving again?

There's something special about Madeleine Sheehan's writing. You feel as though you're watching the story unfold from afar. Her descriptions are so vivid that you can almost smell and taste West Virginia. I loved the characters. Nash was a fantastic leading man, and Cassie was fiery and strong while still showing a vulnerability that made her feel real and relatable.

Although the writing style is different from the Undeniable series, that's exactly what makes this story stand out. It has its own unique charm while still delivering everything I love about Sheehan's books.

Now I can't wait for the final instalment in the Undeniable series—Zz's story.

Interesting premise and I liked the WV setting, but tbh, Cassie was really unlikable. Nash wasn't great either and neither seemed to be good people. Nash was a cheater (with her bff) and his club was a bunch of criminals. Cassie was a hothead and a liar (abortion she never mentioned to Nash). We kind of knew about the cheating, so we understood why Cassie would have ghosted Nash- but of course their chemistry was so strong, there was no discussion of it before they fell back in bed together. 🙄Then she had to have done something wrong, like choose her career and ability to leave town, over her baby with Nash. This is how authors even the score so past actions can be forgiven in the present. Unfortunately, I ended up disliking both the mains and not caring about their HEA or the mystery of her brother's death.

It did make you cry

If you ever had someone die you will definitely cry over Connor. That being said this book didn't really feel like a biker book until about 80% when Cause got taken.

The back and forth between Nash and Cassie felt a bit repetitive, they went back and forth at each other over and over. Unfortunately I started skimming. This book just didn't do it for me.

Guess I'm still hung up on the Undeniable series. At this point I'm sure poor ma's book will fall flat if it ever comes out.

Property of Nash- a review

Madeline has re-entered the group chat, Babes! I had the honor of receiving an ARC of Property of Nash. Let me say, immersing myself back into Madeline’s world, it felt like coming home. No one writes MC like the Queen Babe. Property of Nash, is a homecoming story. You’ve read the blurb, but wait until you meet the good folks of Clifton Ridge. I loved the flash back scenes that helped us understand the complex history of Cassie and Nash. I had an instant connection with Margie and her little drop of knowledge that resonated with my whole being. Madeline did not shy away from the corruption of men, the darkness of life and its happenings, but took me on an emotional ride that had me looking for the happy ending…and the light was not instantaneous, but a gradual revealing. I loved that this story show us that life goes on and not always the way we plan it, and that sometimes you can come full circle on different terms.

Welcome back, Madeline. You proved, again, that your world of words, were worth the wait!!

This was WILD!!!! I just couldn’t stop reading but I don’t think it was in a good way. They were so toxic and you can’t be that dumb and blind but it is what it is I guess. Definitely questioning whether I actually liked it or it was a train wreck I just couldn’t stop reading stop. But definitely worth the read.

Not bad, but their backstory could have been better fleshed out. I didn’t really feel their love too. Also the timelines are very confusing, how long after Cassie left did he marry Addison? How long was he married to Addison? Madeline writes grief very well though, the parts on Connor’s funeral were very touching, I cried.

The things Sheehan can do with words feels effortless and nothing short of magic. She can pull you into a story so thoroughly, you’re practically the characters’ shadow. You feel every single word deep in your gut. It’s addicting, and I will never get enough of her stories or her characters.

The story was ok but I was not a fan of the writing style. Will I read the next book in the series….probably. The way it ended felt like there was more to say from this couple. Does Cassie go back to WV or stay in NYC???? Maybe we will see more of them in whoever’s the next in the series.

There’s something nostalgic about reading a Madeline Sheehan book. Also, it’s in third person POV but I didn’t notice it until Chapter 3. I enjoyed her lyrical writing.

IMO, this ends in a HFN.

So the only thing that stopped this from being a full five-star read and an addition to my "Keeper" shelf was the abrupt ending. The author did an amazing job setting the scene of a struggling small town in the Appalachians in WV. I could visualize the place she was describing and I got absorbed into the atmosphere. I also loved Cas, the heroine. She was the brand of chaos I like in my book heroines, someone who doesn't back down, who screams back, who wrecks property when she's grieving. I also enjoyed Nash, although not quite enough to earn him a place on my "great male lead" shelf, mostly because of the reasons that he and Cas broke up 12 11 years ago.

Another thing I really enjoyed about this one is that it made you care about the supporting characters too. There's a surrogate mother for Cassie, her friends who don't suck, both from her past and her present, a lot of laugh-out-loud moments of banter (not just between the two leads, but between their respective friends and found-family), and a kid who actually seemed like a person rather than a plot moppet. I did find myself wishing that there had been more conversations about the past between Nash and Cas, or even the present, but at the same time, it was to the author's credit that she didn't just spoon-feed everything to me, so I have mixed feelings there.

The book made me cry too. I have a particular relative who is going down a similar road to Cas's brother, involving mental illness and drugs, and I don't think we're going to get her back before we lose her. So the funeral scenes made me cry at work. It also made me miss a friend who did get help when things got hard, and even though it made her life significantly harder, she's still here, just further away from me. (K, I don't think you follow my GR reviews, but if you ever see this, I love you. Thank you for still being here. And yes, this book is why I sent you that text yesterday.)

My main gripe with the book concerned the ending: mostly, I just wanted more of it.

She's back!!! Madeline Sheehan is back to writing MC books and let me tell you, I am beyond thrilled.
I have been waiting forever it seems for more of her fantastic writing. And this book did not disappoint. There is something about the way she writes that lets you immerse yourself in the storyline and this one hooked me in to the point I finished it in a day. It was that good.
One thing I loved was the setting. The Appalachian Mountains, the true mountains, has a different way of life and I think she nailed it. The dialect? Nailed it. Some places (and people) dive more into the unique phrasings and words, but the majority of what I am used to (being a native myself) is spoken like she captured. The setting could've been my backyard from the way my brain understood all she was trying to show of the broken down town.
Now as for the storyline, I loved it. It was raw and gritty and angsty. The grief was devastating, the history of Nash and Cassie was heartbreaking, and the present strife was relatable. She got me in my feels.
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was because the ending was too abrupt. It needed an epilogue or another chapter. It was a HFN sort of ending that left it too open for me, but that's my perspective.
Everyone needs to check this out if you love MC books. And I hope against hope that she writes more of these. I need more from this setting, more of these characters, more of the side characters with their own books (hopefully). Just more.

I just finished Property of Nash and I have a big smile on my face and a happy feeling in my heart.

The OG MC Queen is back!!! And I am SO happy!!!

I’ve been a huge fan of Madeline’s since day one. From the Undeniable series to the Thicker Than Blood series to the Holy Trinity Series to Shut Up and Kiss Me. I’ve read and loved them all.

Property of Nash is Madeline’s first book in a while and it did not disappoint. It feels like Madeline never left. She brings us into this new world set in West Virginia with characters I just love. This is a story of coming home and family and of course there is some drama. And by family I mean actual family and found family. Margie and Luanne, Jordan and the boys of the MC all add something special to this story.

With descriptive and beautiful writing this story is heartwarming and emotional. I couldn’t put it down. If you want a story that makes your heart happy and you feel all warm and fuzzy, Property of Nash is a must read.

I’m sure releasing a book after being gone a while was nerve wracking for Madeline. But she has nothing to worry about. She hit this one out of the park and I can’t wait to see what she publishes next!! I’m hoping it will be more in this series but if not it’s ok. I’ll read anything she writes. Hell she could send me her to-do list and I would read it. Whatever it is I know it will be amazing and I can’t wait.

Madeline Sheehan has made her way back with a MC romance.

This book had my emotions in lockdown from.the very beginning. Tears were shed and I dont normally cry in MC books but of course Madeline for me.
Cassie is back in her hometown from.being a woeks renowned violinist to buy her brother. Her brother was her everything and especially after their parents passed away. And she is back with so many answers and why he died.
Nash was her brother bestfriend and apart of thr mc and now the prez. He tried to help Connor so much with his addictions. But now seeing Cassie again after 12 years and knowing Connor is dead alotnof emotions happen.
She is a sassy lady and when around Nash its like gasoline, she hates him and now even more. And he hates her but not really.
This was emotional but kinda hemmed and hated around them as a couple and then all of a sudden the plot kinda open up to something more that I kinda da seemws coming. Kinda felt slowed down in certain parts and then sped up so pacing was off for me.
They both kinda annoyed me at times with their stubbornness and anger. Both had secrets but they couldn't stay away.
I'm glad Madeline is back to writing and let's see where this series goes.

The Queen of MC is back with a gripping and emotionally charged story that pulled me straight into the heart of the Appalachian mountains. After leaving Clifton Ridge, West Virginia more than a decade ago, a devastating tragedy forces Cassie Berry back to her hometown. Returning ignites a whirlwind of unresolved feelings-sadness, anger, betrayal-all of which take aim at Nash Walker, the unrepentant president of the Kings of Anarchy motorcycle club.

Madeline expertly weaves family, betrayal, and first love into a story rich with the gritty dynamics of small-town life and motorcycle club intrigue, creating a story that is intense and heartfelt. The tension between Cassie and Nash is electric, providing both fantastic banter and beautifully raw emotion. The depth of the characters and the vivid, immersive imagery make the story fresh and authentic. I didn’t just read about these people-I knew them. I laughed with them, cried with them, drank with them...occasionally threw things at their heads. I was all in.

Heartbreaking, hopeful, and impossible to put down, this story stayed with me long after I’d turned the final page. Welcome back, Babe.

The Queen of MC romance is back, and it’s about bloody time!

Did I completely change my planned read the second this book dropped on Amazon? You’re damn right I did! I have waited YEARS for a new MC book from Madeline Sheehan and Property of Nash did not disappoint. I loved all the characters, especially Margie, and of course Nash and Cassie. I loved how wild Cas was, Madeline always writes such fun to read heroines, and gripping stories. This one packed an emotional punch, and actually managed to shock me with the twist! I’m looking forward to more from this series!

great writing. cheating is insane

I love Madeline Sheehan’s writing… and given the right plot backgrounds, a really good grovel or remorse from the male protagonist I can usually overcome characters cheating. But this one needs a warning.

Addictive

“Just One More Chapter” turned into bleary eyes at 3 AM with this unputdownable read! Nash is exactly the biker you expect from Sheehan. He and Cassie make the perfect pair. They’re both completely infuriating and lovable at the same time. A must read!

Welcome back, Madeline !

I can’t rate higher because I’m not a fan of the cheating trope. It’s a personal preference and I wouldn’t probably read the book if I knew it beforehand.
It happened in the past and was basically off page but it still bothered me.
In my opinion the story would be so much better with past chapters about their relationship as teen. It’s something I personally need in second chance.
Anyway writing was spot on and I really recommend it if you’re looking for an angsty story.

🎶Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, growin’ like a breeze

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong……..🎶

But what if those country roads no longer take you to the place where you belong? What if West Virginia is almost heaven, not quite heaven because heaven isn’t filled with heartbreak, addiction, and loss? Yet, true to the John Denver song, even though ten years have passed since Cassie Berry left, West Virginia still comes calling. While driving down the road, she gets a feeling that she should returned home yesterday, even if only to lay the last remaining family member to rest.

Cassie Berry left the hills and hollows of Clifton Ridge, or rather, she ran from them at an early age. She fled not only heartache and betrayal, but also the limitations of the life that she felt was waiting on her there. Cassie wanted more than what a small town or Nash Walker could offer. Against all odds, she has built a successful career as an internationally acclaimed concert violinist. West Virginia may have given her roots, but her musical talent gave her wings to travel the world. Home is now a concrete jungle with latte shops on every corner, and Cassie has no desire to revisit her childhood small town, until the phone call that she is needed to come identify her brother’s body.

For Nathanial (Nash) Winslow Walker, life has never made sense since Cassie quietly disappeared from it over twelve years ago. Now she’s suddenly and loudly reappeared, tearing up his bar with a baseball bat. Nash is carrying the guilt of losing his best friend and fellow MC brother, and dealing with a headstrong Cassie only complicates matters. As Cassie begins to question whether her brother truly died from an accidental overdose, she starts searching for answers in places that she has no business being. Time is running out for Nash. How does he keep Cassie safe from dangers closing in around her? And how does he convince her to stay in Clifton Ridge for good or should he? How can he ask her to leave Carnegie Hall and everything she has worked so hard to achieve in order to return to the small town she once couldn’t wait to escape?

After a long hiatus from writing, author Madeline Sheehan gives us the highly anticipated Property of Nash. This is not a typical MC book; for me, it is more of a story about the resilience and bonds that hold an Appalachian community together. It chronicles the sad downfall of a once-heroic older brother whose life unraveled after being prescribed opioids, and the guilt of loved ones who couldn’t save him. There’s a refreshing maturity in the characters. Cassie wants more than a small town can offer, yet she doesn't look down on those who choose to stay. Give her an instrument and Cassie is just as at home playing mountain music as if she is performing on an international stage. The story acknowledges and respects the idea that it’s okay to want more, while still honoring where you came from.

As always, Madeline Sheehan creates side characters who inspire either fierce loyalty or absolute hatred. Margie is THAT character. Filled with wisdom, grit, and resilience, when life hands her lemons, Margie is making whiskey sours and corn bread for everyone around her. I also have to give a shout out to Luanne Hayes. If you’ve ever returned to a small town years after leaving, you know exactly who she is. She’s that old friend you unexpectedly run into at the convenience store, the one who feels like an old, comfortable sweatshirt, picking up as if she just saw you last week.

Welcome back to the book world, Madeline. I hope that you stay around for a long time, we’ve missed you.

Raw, Emotional, Hot

After a long sabbatical and just life- Madeline Sheehan is back. If you’ve read her work you know no one writes MC like her. She has a gift for character development and storytelling. When she started teasing about this new book she was working on I was excited and would constantly search her social media for updates. So, in preparation for the release of the “Property of Nash” I reread the Undeniable Series. The anticipation. Counting down until it was released. I honestly did not want to read any other books until I finished reading “Property of Nash,” like many I waited for the midnight release and dove right in binge reading.

I could not put it down. I did not sleep. I read. I could not put down “Property of Nash” because I needed to know what would happen with Cassie and Nash.

What an emotional ride. Madeline jumped right in- she did not play. The story is extremely emotional. It is raw, ugly, real. You will need tissues, I don’t see how you wouldn’t. Those moments of ugliness, realness and vulnerability allowed the reader to connect with the characters. It makes the story real- believable and so forth the characters.

One of my favorite aspects of Madeline’s characters is that they’re flawed. No one is perfect. I wouldn’t be able to relate to the characters or the story if they were perfect and had perfect life’s. Cassie’s anger is relatable and believable. Being cheated on by a boyfriend does happen. Leaving, chasing dreams, having secrets are all relatable. I found Nash’s honesty infuriating yet refreshing. It showed growth and maturity.

“Property of Nash” is told in a different writing style from Undeniable Series so don’t expect the same as before. Remember authors are creative beings who expand and grow. Cassie and Nash also use flashbacks to tell their stories. Theresa writing and story telling techniques are fitting for the story. I hope Madeline writes more about Jordan she’s spunky; I see her with a Kings of Anarchy member. I can’t wait to see who Junie grows up to be; and I enjoyed reading how Nash was as a father.

If you love reading books that are raw, real, gritty, ugly, dark, hot, steamy, relatable, with some romance- what are you waiting for? Grab yourself a copy of “Property of Nash.”

I have so many thoughts...I may do bullet points 🤪
- I was STUNNED to see that Madeline Sheehan had released a new book.
- at one point I waited on pins and needles for her next release, but then more than a DECADE went by without a word and I permanently gave up on her
- I am glad she returned by I don't "trust" that she'll stay or finish a series anymore
- this book is like an MC "lite", very light on the MC aspect. Not necessarily a bad thing just surprising from what I remember of her older books
- this book is also light on romance. The first 40% is literally just the heroine, Cassie, coming home and dealing with the death of her brother
- She and Nash have history we get some flashbacks from but we never really know much about Nash even from those snippets
- Nash did Cassie SO WRONG and he never really apologized. Cassie was mad enough to stay away for 11 years but not mad enough to force him to grovel??
-Cassie is a very strong heroine but she gave in way too easily and Nash isn't as hard as Sheehan's heroes of old, but he also didn't seem as repentant as he should have been
- There is no closure. Not with Addy, not with finding out what happened with Connor, the sheriff etc
- The biggest issue is the insanely rushed and unfinished IMO ending
- are they staying together?? Is Nash moving to NYC? Is Cass quitting thr symphony to move home? Do they get married? Do they have babies?! WTF?!
- There's no freaking epilogue!
- I liked parts of the book but there were definitely issues and Sheehan can absolutely write but it felt like she's rusty after such a long hiatus and she rushed through this.
- 3.5 stars rounded up to 4, I will definitely read more if she continues the series. Hopefully we'll get answers about where Cassie and Nash go from here.

Hello Cassie and Nash and welcome back to the world of biker romance to Madeline Sheehan after a very long time. I have been a huge fan of this author ever since I read her Undeniable series over 10 years ago. That particular series stuck with me and I have been waiting very patiently for a new biker book of hers to read. Property of Nash did not disappoint!
A very poetic, at times heartbreaking and also funny story of reconnecting with a lost love and the life you left behind to find a greater purpose. Returning home for the funeral of your only remaining family member is tough, but returning to the arms of your lover after being gone for 12 years was something else entirely. There was the usual biker club business, interesting characters, wise and no-nonsense elders as well as the hopefulness of youth and rekindling lost love and memories. The words just flowed off the pages and at times I could literally hear the music in the background...beautiful and haunting melodies playing as a soundtrack to Cassie and Nash as they navigated their way back to each other.
If you have read and loved the Undeniable series, I highly recommend grabbing this book and savoring every word (like I did). Looking forward to more from Sheehan as this is just the beginning of her best work to come!

Beautifully Written

I like to read cold, I stay away from blurbs & synopsis. So I knew nothing about the book going into it.

There is a certain kind of peace that no drugs can touch when you slip into a world of your favorite author.

The pure poetry and prose this author brings to the MC world is beautifully brutal. She will have you reliving memories you never lived. Every word and phrase landing just right. Just when you think you know where the story is going, it hits a switch back, just like the mountains that she describes so beautifully, you feel the mountains. She makes you feel everything, every emotion, the surroundings , you can almost smell the environment , with out being overly descriptive. Her portrayal of mountain people couldn’t be closer to reality. I have such respect for the perfection of the locals and vernacular. There aren’t any wasted words, no made up drama to move the story forward, no contrived story lines.

This is like no other MC book you’ve read. So if you read it, be prepared to have a new favorite author!

This book is now my number one favorite book of all time!

Property of Nash by Madeline Sheehan

The Queen. The Mother. The absolute legend of MC romance is BACK.

Property of Nash is everything I’ve been missing from the genre. Gritty, raw, emotional and completely unapologetic. Madeline Sheehan has a way of writing characters that feel real, flawed and impossible not to become obsessed with, and Nash is no exception.

This isn’t a polished, watered down biker romance. It’s dark, messy, passionate and packed with the kind of tension that keeps you listening long after you should have gone to sleep. The chemistry is intense, the emotions hit hard and the story pulls you in from the very first chapter.

What I loved most was that this felt like classic Madeline Sheehan. The atmosphere, the brotherhood, the chaos, the heartbreak and the love all had that signature style that made me fall in love with MC romance in the first place.

If you’ve been waiting for a biker romance that reminds you why you became addicted to the genre, this is it.

Welcome back, Madeline. We missed you.

Let me just say... Mads is the QUEEN of ugly-ish MC stories. Seriously though, this aint your traditional romance novel with cute motorcycle BS. Move along if that's what you want. Ya feel me?!

I was in one of my absolute worst book funks until Madeline Sheehan dropped THIS not so pretty love story! From page one she hooked me, I couldn't wait to see how this hillbilly-train-wreck unfolded in it's entirety.

Enter West Virginia. Mountain folk, ridgerunners, hillbillies, fiddle jams, and redneck bikers are all included. Underneath this though, you'll find soulmates, chosen family, brotherhood, tragic loss, toxic love, a dose of "from here on out."

I swear, once upon a time she told me she was never, EVER, writing another MC series. I'm so glad she lied to me, because shut the front door and buckle the *f up, 'cause she did it again. And, it is so f*ing good! I loved this story and cannot wait until Mads can find it in herself to write us another yarn from the KOA MC.

The Queen of MC Romance is Back - and Better Than Ever!

After years of waiting, my favorite author is finally back - and she did not disappoint!

This book reminded me exactly why I fell in love with her writing in the first place. The motorcycle club world was gritty, emotional, raw, and completely immersive. From the first page to the last, I was hooked.

What I loved most was how deeply this story made me feel. I laughed, cried, swooned, got angry, and found myself completely invested in the characters and their journey. It’s the kind of book that stays with you long after you’ve finished the final chapter.

If you’ve been waiting for her return, this book is absolutely worth it. And if you’re new to her writing, you’re in for a treat. I’m beyond thrilled she’s writing again and can’t wait to see what comes next.

Welcome back, Madz. You’ve been missed! ❤️🏍️📚
