Life as a professional cuddler is far from glamorous—until I find myself in the penthouse of billionaire bachelor Cade Westbrook.
He lives a life of luxury I could only dream of, except the business mogul doesn’t seem thrilled to see me. Judging by his cold demeanor, I’d guess he’s never happy to see anyone.
Turns out there was a mix-up—Cade hired a cleaning service, not a cuddling service. But luck is on my side, because he told a few white lies for work, and now he needs an imaginary fiancée to vacation with him… on his grandfather’s superyacht. Cade thinks my nondisclosure agreement is reason enough to hire me for the job, and the money he’s offering if we pull this off is no joke. All my cat’s medical bills would be cleared, including the surgery he desperately needs.
My plan is simple a bunch of strangers I’m madly in love with a man I just met.Keep the kleptomaniac cat I smuggled onboard from wreaking too much havoc.Survive 7 nights sleeping next to a man whose body’s as warm as a furnace but whose heart is made of stone. It’s too late to back out when we discover the trip is actually a couples retreat, where we’ll have to demonstrate our “love” in more and more ridiculous ways.
Crazy for Cuddles is an M/F Romantic Comedy with a HEA that can be read as a standalone or after Hot for Hostage. The book features a sweet & quirky heroine, her grumpy hero, and a meddlesome cat with sticky paws.
OH I HAD SO MUCH FUN WITH THIS BOOK, IT’S EVEN BETTER THAN THE PREVIOUS ONE GUYS, I NEED A BOOK 3 RIGHT NOW PLEASE MAGGIE!!!
A super cute fun romantic story, easy and quick to read, not too realistic at times but with powerful realistic messages: no one is “normal”, you don’t need to be perfect to deserve love, you shouldn’t allow anyone to make fun of your choices, never change yourself for others, the love of your life will love you for who you are, your partner doesn’t need to be exactly like you, love the job you work, be nice to every new person you meet, always try to have fun and romanticize your life, carpe diem
I liked the previous book’s cover art way better though, not because this cover is ugly but more because I feel like this picture doesn’t represent the true essence of this book because of the moment it represents, I would have rather see one of the many fun iconic moments they spent together (SPOILERS AHEAD) like when the cat dropped the ring from the boat into the water or when the cat was thrown from the boat into the water
When i saw this I was excited to read another story in this universe. And a job as a cuddler sparked my intrested!!! We have billionaire Cade who is always about work and work no family time even for his own family. Que the grandfather who doesn't feel like he should get the position. Making Cade little angry this is where he meets Ellie when he's asleep in his penthouse. Ellie her job is a little extreme but it pays her cats medical bills. And she's elbowed in the face when she meets her next cuddler. But the misunderstanding happens Cade never booked her. Confused but let things go when they do cuddle. It should be all good. Until he finds her and ask for a huge favor and deal. Fake fiance at his brother's couples trip. Deals are made and they are off on vacation.
But it isnt easy for them. Since we'll this is were it hits a snag for me. I felt Cade never really opened up and let Ellie in. There was more push away from him and it made me sad only time I was like ahhh was when Cade jumped into the freezing water to find The cat. After that it was hard for me to want them together. Since ol boy really made it ugh.
But its okay. It was a good read anyways.

Ok, this has the same off the wall cute and quirky romance as the first book. This is a grumpy - sunshine, fake dating rom-com. Add in a super sassy and spoiled cat with a penchant for thievery and it’s a really fun read. Probably the most unique and hilarious meet-cute I’ve ever read. And the chemistry between Cade and Ellie is perfect.
Ellie is a cuddler. Professionally. Her latest assignment has her seeing a new client - who is noted to have a love of unicorns. After getting past all the security and obstacles, she finds her way to her customer. She sets up for the cuddle and it’s the surprise of a lifetime for both of them. See, Cade never hired a professional cuddler and is as cuddly as a cactus. So to say things go horribly is an understatement. But when Cade is close to finally getting a promotion at his family’s business, the only thing standing in his way is that his grandfather thinks he needs to have a life and interests outside of work. Cade comes up with a plan to show him that he’s not only got stuff outside of work - but a whole fake fiancée - and who better to fill that role but Ellie. But first they have to jump through the hoops of a week long couples retreat cruise with Cade’s brother and other couples. Including therapy. Everything that can go wrong, will.
So freaking cute! Billionaire mixup with a sweet girl ,fake fiance.finding love and a adorable cat sidekick.its such a great cute read ,you dont need to read Hot for hostage to love this one ,theres a very small mention about the leads in the other book.
Yet another cutesy, embarrassing read from Maggie Evans. While not as grabbing as Hot for Hostage, I still had a lot of fun fighting my facial muscles throughout most chapters. The humour, the possessiveness, the absolutely cringey actions and dialogues... it was a very enjoyable read. The pacing didn't wow me with the brevity of some areas, and I also kept wishing for more details about our Darling. This might be one of the first books I've read where the MMC got a more detailed backstory and life than the female lead, and I did not love it. I don't see myself rereading this one, but I'm happy to have read it now. Also, fuck that Fletcher guy. May his name never appear in any of my future reads.
This book was not what I expected but I loved it so much!
I must admit, that I went into this book completely blind, trusting that it was just as good as the first one. I kind of thought that we would stay within the Mafia realm, but this book was a billionaire romance.
Ellie is a professional cuddler and she loves her job. When she is met with a grumpy doorman, that wouldn't let her into the building where she is supposed to meet her client, she has to get creative. But when she finally makes it into the building and the penthouse, it turns out that her client doesn't know about her and isn't really interested in her services. Cade's whole life is his Job. The company his grandfather built takes up all his time and making more money than he could ever spend is his calling in life. Or so he thought. When the bubbly, blue haired cuddler dares him to try out cuddling, he reluctantly agrees, only to find out that she was right. Sleeping next to someone else helps. And when he finds out that his next promotion depends on an increase in his private life, he hires Ellie to be his fake-fiancee to prove to his grandfather, that he doesn't work too much.
But is it really a ruse when they both start feeling more for each other?
This grumpy-sunshine RomCom made me laugh so hard and I was glued to my kindle to find out how this story ends. I felt like this one wasn't as spicy as the first one, but I couldn't care less, when the romance and feelings are so good! I don't read contemporary romances very often, but Maggie Evans just writes the funniest, silliest romances and I would recommend this series to everyone who needs a fun little summer read to cleanse their pallets.
I love this author - She writes the greatest books!
I read "Hot for Hostage" last year, and it was one of the funniest books I had read in ages. I recommended it to everyone! When I saw she wrote another book? I knew I had to check it out.
I was a LITTLE skeptical when I saw it was about a "professional cuddler," but if Maggie's other book was anything to go by, I knew I had to give it a chance. She did not disappoint. I laughed at this book multiple times, highlighted quite a few scenes and quotes, and fell in love with many of the characters. Whiskers and his "sticky paws" was adorable, and I loved his occasional shenanigans.
I really don't want to give anything away at the risk of making things in the story less funny (they're much better when they're completely unexpected!), but from pretty much beginning to end, I loved this book.
Congrats, Maggie, on another successful, hilarious, sweet book! I'll recommend this to all of my friends just like the last one!
4.5⭐️ I really enjoyed Ellie and Cade, and I'm a cat person, so I extra enjoyed how important Whiskey was to Ellie, as well as the cat café. I only took half a star because I felt Fletcher's second go around at being an absolute douche felt unnecessary to the story. After the (Cat)astrophe, we already see Cade's protective, swoony side, so I felt the creepy proposition was overkill.
What I really enjoyed was Ellie charming all of Cade's family. I'm so glad we didn't have to deal with an evil mother-in-law throughout the story.
I'd consider this book a slow burn. This author is such a tease 🤣 that massage room scene was 🥵
Absolutely LOVED this book, maybe even slighter more than the first one which I thought wasn’t possible!! These books are just so fun and so random, I can never predict what’s gonna happen next! I loved that they were the perfect grumpy sunshine duo until Cade turned into the biggest simp for Ellie!! I absolutely loved the thieving cat Whiskey too! I love how all of Cades family loved Ellie so much by the end of the book! I couldn’t put this book down, such a great fun read because an unlikely couple trapped on a yacht during a couples retreat!
I had no idea what I was in for but this was so cute. The storyline felt unique (I’ve never read a book about an expert cuddler before lmao) and it had me laughing hysterically at some points. The narration was perfect, I’m such a sucker for duet audio. I did think the FMC seemed a little immature at times and I was mortified by how a character treated her cat. He deserved more than to get beat up imo. Thank you Simon maverick for the alc 🖤
I had a great time with the book. A romcom for anyone who is at all interested in a professional cuddler and a billionaire grumpy romance with a thieving cat thrown in.
Listen, this is not a serious book. It's not the one you pick up for realism or tear jerking moments or whatever trauma dumping insanity some authors roll around in. This is the book you grab for some mindless entertainment. The hijinks and silliness that make the real world step aside. Somehow the author still manages to place her characters firmly in the world of ridiculous improbabilities while having them flirt the line of realism *just enough* that the suspension of disbelief required is completely feasible.
We've got Ellie, a woman struggling through life as a single adult with little to no support system beyond a medically challenging cat. With debt out the nose and desperation to save her best friend (the cat), she does what she can to survive - a job with stigma and danger, few benefits and barely survivable wages. It's an easy character lifestyle to accept because it is so real for so many people, especially young women. Making her one of the sweetest genuine characters possible, with a strong love of the silly possibilities in life, makes her a character readers can love. Keeping her intelligent despite her slight forays into absurdity is a wise choice by the author to keep her FMC likeable. Ellie doesn't need to be made idiotic to be a party of silly chaos, she just has to have humility and free spirit. Throw in the slightly repressed Cade and you've got a duo that will absolutely keep the reader hopping.
The character progression works well because they both keep their personalities. Cade just remembers how to have some self respect disconnected from his name.
The antics, the plotlines, Mac, it all works because it's not so over the top or egregiously impossible or reprehensible stupidity that the reader can't accept it. We can accept the meddling family, and obnoxious brothers, and the MIL from hell, and the influencer worshipping over privileged women, and the long time friend who is actually a dirtbag because we have seen, experienced or heard of all these people.
The pacing is steady on the quicker side, the editing/proofing is more than acceptable (I only noticed one typo that made me double back to figure out why I didn't understand the sentence and it was literally one letter off).
It is an open door HEA. There aren't a ton of scenes but the younger readers and puritanical minded should go find something else to read.
This is just a fun giggly time! Not as good as the first book (in my opinion) but still such a good time!
I honestly thought Mac (who is a minor character in this) would make a more impactful presence, but he was very in the background.
Besides that, I loved the MC’s, the mischievous cat named Whiskey, the fake dating trope, the billionaire trope and the grumpy/sunshine trope! Plus this is a rom-com and will have you just laughing at the banter and the antics of them all!
Caden, the MMC, needs a fake fiancée in a pinch and why not hire the professional cuddles he tried throwing out the day before? Ellie, the FMC, no matter how surly or grumpy the MMC is, doesn’t let him push her around or dampen her smile. Their characters shouldn’t work together, but man do they!
I legitimately stayed up until 3am finishing this book. I could not put it down. It is so engaging and hilarious.
I laughed, cried, laughed some more, and finally went to sleep dreaming about more books to come!
If you are a fan of quirky heroines who absolutely own their weird (and refuse to change it) and emotionally stunted hero’s who learn to love hard (but only for the heroine)… this book is for you! Oh, and let’s not forget adorable animal sidekicks, we get a cute grumpy cat in this one!
The plot was 10/10 Spice was amaze, but slow to start (definitely a slow burn).
I waited and waited for this book release and wasn’t disappointed. I loved Hot for Hostage so I was hopeful this would be just as adorable. I’m picky when it comes to sunshine heroines. They need to be really positive, really adorable and really lovable and Ellie was all that. While I loved the book I didn’t find there was a lot of time spent with either Cade or Ellie falling for each other. There wasn’t a lot of inner monologue of either of them swooning over but the last 14% made up for it.
Notes: Slow burn Low spice No OW or OM drama Hero isn’t a playboy or man whore Good grovel Adorable pet
I fell in love with Hot for Hostage the second I read it. I still reread it often because it’s hilarious and endearing, and just everything you’d want in a romcom. That same energy was brought to Crazy for Cuddles.
Ellie’s and Cade’s journey to a HEA is one many books cover (fake fiancé) but this one is also unique. Without giving anything away, let’s just say there’s all kinds of whacky things people (and a partially blind cat) can get up to on a yacht.
Sadie makes a couple of small appearances in this one as Ellie’s friend, so if you’re looking for some updates on her and Davian, you’ll find that bonus inside the pages as well!
I loved this book, it was such a cute romcom! It was a nice palette cleanser between heavier/darker books. The FMC was quirky and a ray of sunshine while the MMC was grumpy and a bit of a cloud. I loved that as the reader you could clearly see the MCs falling in love well before they’ve figured it out themselves. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️
Tropes/content: MF Fake engagement Billionaire x Professional Cuddler Rich x Poor Contract relationship Thieving cat
CW/TW: Mentions of parental dëath Mentions of sick cat Sëxual harassment (not by MCs) Animal äbüse (animal was not harmed and was saved quickly)
I am absolutely in love with this book. The first one was great and hysterical and while this book was a little less on the funny side, the plot development, their chemistry, and everything about it was just so creative and interesting while telling a well known style of story. These books are almost written like a 90s-2000s romantic comedy movie. I wish she had 500 books to read because I'd buy them all.
It was so over-the-top that I was completely entranced. I laughed so hard at the beginning that I was caught. It didn't take very long until I completely forgot the rest of the world and just followed the 2 main characters through their story. A book that I completely enjoyed and had trouble stopping at bedtime. I got up the next morning and did nothing until I finished it. A must read for those of you who love a fast moving, fun jaunt.
I had the absolute best time reading this book. It made me laugh and giggle and kick my feet throughout! I couldn't wait to keep reading and thought about it constantly. Ellie was so much fun to read about and Cade was a perfect MMC. The plot kept you interested and entertained without being repetitive, which was such a breath of fresh air from what I have been reading lately. Genuinely loved this one. I hope there is a third!
If you read Hot for Hostage and enjoyed Sadie’s story I think you’ll enjoy this one! Cade and Ellie’s story has some more emotional tension than Davian and Sadie’s but still retains that innate sweetness that drew me into Hot for Hostage. Really really enjoyed it!
I loved the first book of this series so as soon a si got the chance to read this one I took it! Characters are funny and interesting personality! They really do love their fur babies in these series. If your looking for a good sweet funny read with a good smooth nice story line this is a good one!
I don’t think I have laughed this much since reading book one in this series! I love everything about this book but now I need a unicorn onesie. This book is really an opposites attract love story. I love the glimpses of the family dynamic and the friendships. Also I want a cat that steals things lol maybe I can train mine. I will be rereading this.
I loved the first book and the second was just as good. I like a book that I lose track of time while I am reading. You laugh and get invested in the characters. Blue hair this time and a strong and warm female lead that you root. Male lead that needs his world opened up. Great read start early in day so you are not reading at 2am like I was.
