One blizzard. One bed. One dare between best friends.
Valerie
I’d have ditched the small Vermont town I grew up in years ago, if my mom hadn’t gotten cancer.
After exploring the world, I’d come back and marry my responsible friend Jack. Since I never left, we stayed friends.
But when we get stranded together in a blizzard, and I dare him to do something unpredictable…
I don’t expect him to strut around in a towel and woo me like I’ve never been wooed before. And I certainly don’t expect him to be so… skilled.
Except now I’m terrified of breaking both our hearts when I tell him my plans to leave town.
Jack
I’ve secretly been in love with Valerie since high school.
When her mom’s diagnosis dashed her study abroad plans, I knew she needed a friend, not a boyfriend.
After years of yearning, I get my chance when we’re stranded together. But I don’t want a fling with Valerie, even if being with her surpasses my wildest fantasies.
I need to prove that I’m the one for her, because I want forever.
But now that her mom is recovered, the clock is ticking.
I’d do anything to help Valerie spread her wings and soar. Even if all I want is to put down roots with her.
Rebellious & Rooted is a small town friends to lovers romance that includes a road trip. Opposites attract, everyone else can see they're in love, and the forced proximity helps them figure it out. It’s part of the interconnected Flowers of Fairport series and can be read as a stand alone. Guaranteed HEA!
Amber Elwood writes steamy contemporary romance that leaves you feeling hopeful about the future. Her Flowers of Fairport series is led by go-getting women who know what they want, and the men who will stop at nothing to help them get there.
After leaving a successful career in tech, Amber now splits her time between motherhood, farming, and writing. She has more ideas than she’ll ever have time, dark chocolate, or tea to write.
Thank you Amber Elwood for giving me your book to read and review again.
I absolutely loved this book. Val and Jack’s story was set up in book one and I knew it was going to be great.
Val is headstrong and dead set on leaving her small town but when her mum gets cancer she stays to help keep her parents greenhouse business afloat.
Jack loves his small town and never plans to leave. He has a compost business he loves, he has a calm and quiet life he loves. The only thing that would make his life better? The pixie girl he’s madly in love with and has been since high school.
This friends to lovers, one bed, snow storm book is amazing and will definitely be the perfect fall read.
