The origin story of Jenna Avery is complex, weird, and requires numerous alcoholic beverages to regale. The current story? She's an elder millennial with a penchant for evolving and growing. This is a polite way of saying her ADHD makes her choose a new hobby every three months. By the time you read this, who knows what she'll be into. Just ask. Otherwise, she lives with her horde of kids and pets, a golden retriever husband, and rotating residency of soon-to-be-dead plants.
Heimlock was a collection of tragic backstories concluding a beautifully built world. The friendship & trust built over sharing a story & stiff one made this the perfect title choice. The anger, grief, & shared vulnerability were so well expressed here. Having all 3 stories meet back in the end for the sweetest found family pricked even more tears.
Honestly I’d read Jenna’s grocery lists 🤷🏻♀️ every “fantasy romance” she has written covers such intense topics so elegantly that you’re feeling every emotion in an hour just as real humans do irl. I feel immersed completely in every story she tells. & as always the spice is more than delectable 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
“I’d climb out of every single one of our graves just to have the chance to plant flowers with you.” 🌹

Once again, Jenna has written a story that had me feeling such a vast range of emotions! The topics are heavy but the healing is so rewarding and the mental health rep is so insanely appreciated.
I devoured books 1 and 2 and it's was no different for this final book. I am in love with Kyrielle and we're practically besties because we both take our coffee with obscene amounts of hazelnut creamer 🤣 and Trinte will always have my heart for overcoming the things he faced. The dynamic between these two was so fun and the healing that they discover together was so beautiful. I swear every book in this series had me in shambles at one point or another but I wouldn't have it any other way!
Thank you to the author for sending me this ARC. I am leaving a voluntary and honest review.
This 3rd book in the series is for Trinte and Kyrielle and they sure have led a very traumatic life. They both are tough and stubborn, but somehow are perfect for each other. There’s a lot of triggers so be sure to check those out first, but if you can get through them then you will enjoy this fantasy world that this is in. I also loved how Jenna Avery tied in the other characters from the first two books.
With Heimlock, we are treated to an amazing closure to this fascinating series. This story is full of many high moments, from dialog that will have you laughing out loud, to scenes where the emotions hit incredibly hard. The thrills are intense, as is the spice; Jenna’s storytelling talents putting it all together to give us a story to both enjoy and remember. Heimlock, and the entire series, is easy to recommend!!!
This was a great story full of adventure, chemistry, and of course- dragons!
I the writing was great, the pacing and plot was well done and the story was intriguing and interesting to follow along too. Trinte and Kyrielle were adorable together and I absolutely loved reading their story!
