The gatefold cover is the best part of this atlas, produced as a tie-in to Final Fantasy XI Online. (Fun fact: up until March 2016, the FFXI server was the last one running on and supporting Playstation 2 systems.)

The biggest problem with this book is that it's out of date. Based on the limited playtime I had with the game a couple years back (via its PC incarnation), very little of it matches up to the gameplay and locales. That's the problem with online games - they change so rapidly over such a long period of time that what it ends up as looks nothing like its original incarnation (see Final Fantasy XIV for further evidence). As a result, this book is more of a showpiece than anything else.

Worth picking up for completionists and curious players who want to see what the original version of the game looked like, but not worth it for anyone else.

Good book, but became dated very quickly... and as it stands it's mostly like never updated.
