When Demi, Missy, and Skia venture to the west coast on a search for some magical books, they also get to enjoy a beach-side vacation! With high hopes about some magical artifacts, a new friend with a gorgous B&B, and a lovely coffee shop with free refills, the trip seems like a perfect break from hustle and bustle.
But the bookstore owner is gone, the item Demi searches for is missing, and there is something causing strange problems in town.
“The Tell-Tale Cat” reunites Demi, Missy, and Skia as they head to the West Coast in search of rare magical books and artifacts. What begins as a relaxing getaway filled with cozy cafés, a charming bed-and-breakfast, and the promise of a peaceful beach vacation quickly takes an unexpected turn. A missing bookstore owner, a mysterious missing magical item, and a series of strange happenings around town pull the trio into yet another supernatural mystery that will test their magic, teamwork, and curiosity.
I continue to enjoy this series for what it is. These books are quick, cozy paranormal adventures that are easy to pick up whenever I’m looking for something light and fun. It feels like catching up with old friends every time Demi, Missy, and Skia set off on another magical adventure. The mystery in this installment kept me interested, and I enjoyed watching the group piece together what was happening in the town. The magical elements continue to be one of my favorite parts of the series, and I like how each book introduces a new location and a fresh mystery while still keeping the familiar charm of the recurring characters. As always, the cozy atmosphere is one of the highlights. Between the beach setting, magical bookstores, quirky characters, and the small-town charm, the book creates a fun backdrop for the adventure. I also appreciate how easy these books are to read—they’re perfect palate cleansers between heavier novels. I’m looking forward to seeing where the series goes next. -3 Stars!
