They came in the night breaking and smashing. I heard my ma put up a fight, but then came the shot and I heard her body hit the floor of our old cabin. Now I was crouched under the old foot bridge, the water although still ice cold from winter melt higher up in the mountains couldn’t compare to the chill I felt in my heart. These men meant to kill me stone cold dead. All because of my blood some said, but I knew the truth. This was no backwoods feud. These were government men. I had to get west to my Uncle Taran. He’d help me.

Tara Collins wasn’t use to the ways of civilized society the likes of which could be found in the valley bottoms that rivers meandered lazily through. She’d been raised high up in the hills of the Allegany Mountains where those bottom land rivers were first given birth to. It didn’t matter now how well she knew the byways and secret places of the mountains. No place was safe for her. She was to her knowledge the last of her kin left in the East. It was time to go west and make her own way.

Drift Wind is a continuation of a series of western sci-fi novels that feature adventure, action, and faith. Christian Speculative Fiction – learn to love it!

I’m a redeemed ordinary person intent on bringing
my Heavenly Father, pleasure and a return on the
priceless investment that He has made into my life. I’ll never be able to fully repay Him, but my goal is to try and when my time comes to go that I’ll
be caught away in the very act of still trying to do so.

Read my books and you'll learn everything there is to know about me in a way that only several hundred thousand words can do, but in a nutshell I'm imaginative and I love to write and at some point in my busy life I have apparently had a lot of time to do just that.

Do a few stretches to warm up, because this time, Guy Stanton III thrusts us into his tale mid-chase, as young Tara runs from the nightmare that her life has become toward the safety promised by an uncle she doesn’t know. Alone and innocent, she leaves the safety of her mountain to head West. But can a girl survive safely in a world where she is considered a commodity to be traded for money? Tara’s faith is strong and she prays for guidance, anything to give her strength and she receives three paths to take. The path she has chosen will be the most difficult, but could reap the most rewards as she touches the lives of others, including a mute warrior who becomes her fellow escapee from a slave’s prison. Will he help her reach her goal of finding her uncle or does he have his own agenda for the young girl? Her faith runs deep, her bloodline is strong, but she is also human, with emotions that are awakened by her warrior’s kindness.

Told with the young voice of a teen sheltered from the evil in life, as each page progresses, Tara’s maturity grows in leaps and bounds as life teaches her so many lessons and her faith protects her.

Guy Stanton III has packed more story, more action and more atmosphere in these few pages then many much larger tales, and he does it without sacrificing depth or vividly described scenes. A very quick read that fits well into the scheme of previous novellas in this series, that special touch of sci-fi is there, the feel of a western is there, all bundled together perfectly with a faith-based tale. Nothing is in excess, but what an ending, indeed!

I received this copy from Guy Stanton III in exchange for my honest review.

Another book I just couldn't put down. The Collins are getting fewer and fewer on Earth, but more in space. Why die quietly and unnoticed, when you can have adventure?

I was given a copy of "Drift Wind" by one of my favorite contemporary Christian authors, Guy Stanton III, in exchange for an honest review. This is book four in the Wind Drifters series. I enjoyed them all. This one is a little different. It is told through the eyes of a young adult girl. It also includes some sexual content that is more than just the usual implied type by this author. The scene is a rape scene. Though it isn't terrible graphic, I just want those who stick to only "clean" zero sex and swearing books to be warned. It is still very much a Christian book and the scene is part of the story line and wasn't just thrown in to sale books. There is still no swearing. I may have liked this one the best of all of the Wind Drifter books, probably because it was told from a woman's point of view. I really liked it, and am looking forward to finishing up the series. I probably haven't mentioned it in a while, but all of Mr. Stanton's books have great covers! I give this book four stars and recommend for sci fi and western lovers. Due to the mature content age 17 and up.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Mr. Stanton, a contemporary Christian author, has written another awesome book in the Wind Drifter series. Drift Wind continues with the theme of goodness verses evil. It shows us the right decisions made, even though difficult/hard to live gives us an everlasting joy and closeness with the Lord.

This book is a little different as it is told from a young woman's point of view. Tara Collins has a strong faith, prayer life and follows God's prompting stop her heart even though the path chosen is difficult. She is thrust from a sheltered life into the world that shows its evilness and harm to herself. Tara's faith/maturity by the end of the book is amazing. The storyline is also different as it includes a rape scene. Mr. Stanton does not use unnecessary graphic language or imagery to make his point. The scene is part of the story and not used for sensationalism or book sales.

I enjoyed Drift Wind immensely and looking forward to the next book!

Tara Collins family is being systematically hunted down but doesn't understand the reason why. Tara's Uncles Logan and Taran have moved on with their lives. It's only through Tara's faith that she's spared any more suffering or so she thinks. The Creator has an unique plan for Tara's life if only she trusts him completely. Tara takes a step in faith. Tara finds hope and heartache on her journey thus far but surely this isn't The Creator's plan for her life. Tara is made a slave to better understand The Creator's plan. Tara lives in fear but stays strong in her faith. A handsome stranger watches as Tara attempts to escape offering her alittle assistance. Together they escape their prison. Can Tara give people hope? Who is the handsome stranger? Your answers await you in Drift Wind.

Guy Stanton has created a wonderful universe. The character are honest, strong, raw, and intriguing. The story is a quick read along with elements of surprise, compelling, and hint of sadness. i look forward to my next adventure in this series.

This a very well written book, I enjoyed it quite a lot. The writing is some of the smoothest Stanton has ever written. It was a fascinating story, the main character was good, and it was nice change to have a female in that role.

I would have given the book a five star but there was a
