Working for the biggest K-pop agency in Seoul was never part of my dream.
But hospital bills don’t care about dreams.
So when I land a job as a makeup artist at LUMINA Entertainment, I make myself one promise: keep things professional and stay far away from idols.
Especially the charming ones.
Then Kim Hyun-woo crashes into my life.
Woo is ECLIPSE’s sunshine—the dimpled rapper with millions of fans and a smile that could melt glaciers. Everyone loves him.
Everyone except me.
I’ve seen what happens when someone believes an idol’s kindness means something more. My mother lost everything chasing that illusion, and I refuse to repeat her mistakes.
But the longer I work with Woo, the harder it becomes to ignore the man behind the spotlight.
The one who remembers the little things. The one who sees through my walls. The one who makes my heart forget every rule I swore to follow.
There’s just one problem.
ECLIPSE has a strict dating ban. Scandals destroy careers. And loving anyone would cost Woo everything he’s worked for.
Falling for him was never part of the plan.
But some promises are impossible to keep… especially when the whole world is watching.
A swoony K-pop romance featuring workplace tension, a forbidden relationship, and the sunshine idol who refuses to give up on the one woman determined to resist him.
Sadly another kpop romance I just did not enjoy. I guess thats not entirely true. I enjoyed the potential this story had. The idea of a a makeup artist and an idol is scandouls and fun but the execution was not it.
The story was overly dramatic and not in the fun k-drama kind of way. More in the over the top way too much kind of way. These two were too intense too fast and for someone who dealt with the trauma she did, the main character should never have been working in the industry at all. The way that the male characters members talk to him was also rude and completely unsupportive. It felt very weird for a close knit group to act
But my biggest issue with the book was the writing. It was so repetitive and really felt like a first draft. If I had to read, building walls, purple tipped hair, pink hair or I’m not my mother one more time I was going to lose it. The characters did so much telling rather than showing it almost felt like fan fiction.
This book has so much potential, with a good couple of rewrites to focus on removing the repetive phrases and constant rehashing of the same things it could be really great.
Book 1 of the Hearts In Eclipse series. And a wonderful start it is! Look forward to more from this world.
'Make Me Blush is a funny, flirty forbidden K-pop romance with all the swoony chaos of your favorite K-drama.'
The characters drove the storyline and they were very appealing and likeable and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was excellent and impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

i’m always down for a kpop-inspired romance and this one was so fun & unexpectedly heartfelt!! a tortured makeup artist meets her new client, the sunshine-y idol who she’s forbidden to date… but when they’re forced to work in such close proximity to each other, their heated glances and sparkling connection can no longer be ignored 👀🌟💌
💜 kpop idol x makeup artist 💜 he falls first and harder 💜 forbidden romance 💜 forced proximity 💜 slow burn
This book had good bones… but the author repeats the same phrases and scenes so many times I found myself feeling like I accidentally went backwards in pages.
