Unfortunately, this was one of my least favorite Kindred books. I'm not sure why; the beginning started off well (read: interesting). I felt there was more erotic content than plot and the two characters getting to know each other. The adventure on the alien planet was also not as interesting as other books.
In the epilogue, I would have liked to know if Lexie still plans on becoming an Ivy League English professor. If so, she probably couldn't live on the Mother Ship. She wasn't giving up her PhD as a result of being with Brandt, so I'd assume she must want to still do something with the PhD?

The book is getting 2 stars because the general outline of the story is okay. The coloured in plot is disastrous.
I liked the description of the planet Bio-Terius Centra. Just the description. How the women were treated, the Chapter 29 that the author warns about and the general populace, not so much.
I hate the gimmicky names. Dr. T’Oo-loo, Magistrate GrOin-der.
The smut, the main reason I got the book, (the milking kink) was largely shit for me. Some aspects I liked, others I hated and it was largely due to Brandt even over Lexi. Very bad dirty talk, very cheesy, would not recommend.
Lexi as a character is also very sassy (I hate this description for women but I can't find another equivalent term) or rather can I call her very loud in getting herself into bad situations and then very damsel in distress (which I loathe) in getting herself out of them. The lead up to the Chapter 29 incident, she acted like the stereotypical, does not listen to anyone or bothers to read social queues bad American tourist. She has more than one instance where she is written in like a bimbo/airhead that I didn't like.
Brandt and I mean Brandt not Dr Brandt was the character I hhaaaaaaaaaaatttttttteeeeeeeeeedddddddd with the passion of a quadrillion buring suns. He didn't come off as Alpha (if you read Omegaverse) or rather Dom as the author thought she'd written him. He was an overbearing, boorish MMC. It is Yes, Sir or nothing else, Dr Brandt or nothing else then setting himself up in that bdsm dynamic with Lexi with no discussion. This book is largely coerced CNC with large aspects of medical play (which I am never a fan of MOST ESPECIALLY when the Dr in the role is gynaecology based. Yes, I know he is written as a cancer dr but what were they doing 99% of the time in this book?).
Then the whole oh my-dead-wife/vow thing was so annoying. I laughed, like laugh out loud, this is so preposterous, at the Goddess intervention. Dude was such a hard head divine intervention had to be employed for him to realize maybe I can break this vow.
Then what I'll say was my mistake, I have never read a story from this general world. So having aliens on a mother ship, yet we are having modern day references such as skibidi toilet was so jarring for me.
There is a lot of repetition as well. I hated when Brandt was written in as embracing all her insecurities because it came off as reverse psychological domestic violence. If I have an issue with having cellulite, you telling me, THAT IS NOT AN ISSUE, DON'T MENTION IT AGAIN it's like you're shouting won't make me not have an issue with cellulite.
Anyway, this sucked (ha! quite literally) for me.

Kidnapped by the Beast is Book 11 of Ms. Anderson’s Beasts of the Kindred. Lexi is a schoolteacher whose uncle owes twenty thousand dollars to a loan shark who is threatening to harm him is the debt is not paid very soon. Because she doesn’t have that money to help her uncle, she takes a chance to work with a Kindred Scientist. Dr. Brandt is researching a cure for a deadly disease that has touched her life, so she agrees to be his assistant. But she doesn’t want to go to a dangerous planet, Bio-Terius Centra, for his experiments. Knowing she is the only one who has tested positive for his research, he decides to kidnap her and take her against her will. Brandt was domineering and Lexi finally agrees to his experiment. First they are drawn to each other, and Lexi believes they may end up together. Then he changes his mind. Back and forth the action jerks them until Lexi ends up in serious trouble.
This novel by Evangeline Anderson has so many ups and downs, I felt like a yoyo! On one hand, I really want them to get together, but on the other Brandt can act like a jerk. I feel Lexi is going to be dejected at the end of the book, and I definitely feel frightened for her. I couldn’t stop reading! Fast-paced steamy scenes keep the action going. Will the experiment work? Will the two of them find each other at last or will everything end up a failure? Kidnapped by the Beast is absolutely a Keeper!

Another wonderful book, wonderful characters and a story that will hold you riveted
This was a simply wonderful read that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish, the characters are so wonderfully written and the plot will hold you riveted between its pages.
The story is a real roller coaster that has your emotions on a very active up and down and as well as this you will find yourself shocked, and completely intrigued to discover exactly where the story is taking you as the reader.
The author states at the start of the book as usual any possible trigger warnings, the story is at times awful and you cannot help but take a deep breath as you continue to discover what the actual outcome is going to be.
I am sure that other readers will be as captivated as myself and will look forward to future books by this writer.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

This is another great story by Ms. Anderson!

Such an emotional rollercoaster!
While reading this I was, and not necessary in this order, shocked, intrigued, saddened, extremely angry, fanning myself, saying " oh that's not a good idea", awwing, fanning myself again and extremely happy about how something was handled.
Like the author states at the beginning there is a possible trigger in this book. Even though it was horrible in nature and made me angry and wanting blood, the author handled it very well and I was pleased with how she exacted punishment.
There are a few evil characters in this. However the good out weigh the bad and the smexy times and love aspects are very well written and enjoyable.
I won't give anymore away.
Enjoy the story!

Lexi is a school teacher, her uncle is in financial debt to a very unsavory person. Pay up or die!
Can she earn thousands of dollars doing a job for the Kindred?
Circumstances have her unconscious before finding herself kidnapped by Brandt and on another planet.
You're always in for a fun and yet dangerous adventure when reading a Kindred story, always with a HEA though and a lot of laughs.
This was another entertaining read by this author and I loved it.

Wow wow, this was a brilliant book.i wasn't sure about it I. The beginning but it is so well written that it draws you in and I seriously struggled to put it down. I was looking forward to finishing work each day so I could read some more. I highly recommend a read if this book, absolutely amazing.

Terrible book. DNF.
The heroine is rude and arrogant half of the time and a helpless bimbo with no self respect the other half.
The male lead is an entitled overbearing tyrant.
Their interaction was supposed to be like a sexy BDSM Dom-Sub relationship, but the attempt failed miserably.
I do not recommend.

I'm feeling like the Kindred need to:
1. Make it a Law that no new widowers can make an Irrevocable Vow of Chastity for at least 5 years after the death of a mate and
2. Stop letting these assholes who have taken the IVoC loose around earth women.
Not my favorite. I think this series may have run its course with me. Oh well.
