This was the first book dealing with EMP that I decided to read. Melinda had been employed for 17 years to kill individuals who broke the laws of society. Eight times she was ready to use a sniper’s bullet & someone changed his/her mind and called off the killing. Over the 17 years, Melinda kept a book with the names of the individuals whose lives were spared at the last minute! When the EMP occurred, Melinda met Tessa, a 17 yr. old who became her constant companion. The book takes the reader on a very descriptive journey as Melinda carries out her justice.
Interesting story line, ruined by repetitive lines, phrases and actions. Every chapter reads the same and sometimes several pages in the same chapter are almost identical. What started as an original story became an old scratched vinyl record repeating, repeating, repeating, repeating …….
A CIA assassin is stopped from her current assignment. She has a list from other assignments that have been interrupted from her targets. The "pulse" happened and she decides to fulfill the List. She aquires a sidekick and they take on the 8 other "assignments" and kick ass! Fantastic story! Send me the next one for a free download and I'll buy the rest of them !!
As the story progresses there are scenes that use the exact same words to describe a cabin or situation in different locations and times. It makes you think you lost your place in the book and are reading an earlier scene in the book.
When does she sleep ? ““Except us,” Tessa said. “Which isn’t a large committee, but I appreciate its standards.”” How do they know her name ? Grapevine still works in EMP. Too much talking at end.
I liked the book but the author kept repeating passages so I would think that I went back to the first time I read the passage. That is why I gave it four stars. Strong female characters.
