The Vadena Cardinals aren’t just a hockey team. We’re a dynasty built on blood, money and enough secrets to bury an entire city. And when she walks into our locker room wearing fear like pretty perfume, every instinct inside us burns into something dangerous. She was never supposed to be ours. Too stubborn. Too innocent. Too determined to survive the ruthless world circling around her. But omegas don’t belong near a starving pack, and the Cardinals have been starving for a long time.
Especially us.
One heat changes everything.
One scent destroys every ounce of control we have left.
And once the claiming begins, there’s no escaping the bonds that tie us.
Because the ice isn’t the only thing stained red in Vedena.
And denying us might be the deadliest thing she’ll ever do.
Knot Your Pucking Baby is the first book in the Heat & Havoc series by Octavia Knightly and Lexia Arcane. A dark hockey Omegaverse FMMM with a happily ever after...eventually.
I picked this up like a “just one chapter before bed” kind of clown… and next thing I know I’m a feral goblin at midnight emotionally compromised, dehydrated, and spiritually bonded to fictional hockey men.
THIS. BOOK. This unhinged, ice-slick, scent-marked rollercoaster.
We’ve got: ✨ revenge simmering like a pot about to boil over ✨ action that actually ACTIONS (not just vibes, we love to see it) ✨ a REAL plot threading through the chaos like a beautifully unhinged tapestry ✨ and the spice??? hello??? who gave this permission???
But let’s talk about our omega 👏 BACKBONE. SPINE. VERTEBRAE OF STEEL. No doormat behaviour here. No “oh no I’m fragile” energy. She stands up, she bites back, she makes choices and I was EATING IT UP like it was my last meal.
And the dynamics??? The tension??? The hockey boys just existing aggressively??? I was clutching my imaginary pearls and also throwing them across the room.
BUT THEN. THEN. THE CLIFFHANGER.
Ma’am. Respectfully. Fuck off. You can’t just take my emotions, marinate them in angst, set them on fire, and then WALK AWAY??? I am left here staring at the wall like I’ve just been personally betrayed by a puck.
I need book two like I need oxygen. Possibly more.
⭐️ chaotic rating: I inhaled it ⭐️ emotional damage: severe but worth it ⭐️ sanity level: gone, never heard from again
If you like your omegaverse with bite, backbone, and “just one more chapter” lies… congratulations, this book owns you now too 🖤
I wanted to love this one. On paper, this has almost every trope that works for me: dark romance, bully romance, hockey, omegaverse, reverse harem. It should have been an easy five-star read.
Instead… it was just okay.
The premise is genuinely interesting. After her father dies, the FMC inherits his hockey team and steps into the role of head coach as an omega trying to prove she deserves to be there. The MMCs already hate her because they blame her father for events in the alpha pack leader’s past, so naturally they decide to direct all of that anger toward… the daughter who had absolutely nothing to do with it.
That was my first issue.
I can absolutely get behind a bully romance, but the bullying has to make sense. Here it felt like misplaced trauma rather than believable conflict. It never reached the level where I really understood their hatred, and because of that, the emotional payoff never landed.
My biggest frustration, though, was the heroine.
The entire book revolves around her wanting to be respected as a coach and leader in a male-dominated environment. Then, during her first major intimate scene with the man who’s been treating her horribly, she immediately offers herself to calm his alpha rage. It completely undercut everything the story had spent chapters building. Instead of reinforcing her strength, it made her feel like she abandoned her own goals the first chance she got.
She spends much of the story lacking the backbone I kept waiting for her to develop, which made it difficult for me to fully invest in her journey.
The romance also didn’t quite work for me. I never felt like the pack genuinely fell for her as a person. It felt more like they were biologically compelled by the scent match than emotionally drawn to who she actually was. I wanted more conversations, more vulnerability, more reasons to believe these people would choose each other outside of instinct.
The writing itself isn’t bad, and that’s what makes this a little disappointing. There’s definitely potential here. I actually think the authors have a solid foundation. The pacing was fine, and the story was easy to read, but the characters needed stronger motivations, a fiercer heroine, and relationships that felt earned rather than biologically inevitable.
The ending introduces a twist involving the FMC’s parentage that changes everything about her inheritance, and while it sets up the sequel, it didn’t leave me emotionally invested so much as mildly curious.
I’ll still be reading book two because I think this series has potential if the authors commit harder to the bullying, give the heroine the backbone she’s been missing, and spend more time building genuine emotional connections between the pack and the FMC.
Overall: a forgettable read with a great concept that never fully delivers on its promise. 3 stars.
Knot Your Pucking Baby was an absolutely wild ride from start to finish. This book throws you straight into a dark, intense, and addictive mix of omegaverse, hockey romance, danger, and a seriously fierce FMC who refuses to be pushed around. If you enjoy why choose romance, morally questionable heroes, high tension, and a heroine who can hold her own, this one will definitely grab your attention.
Lennon never expected inheriting the Vadena Cardinals hockey team to come with so many complications. After her father’s death, she has the chance to take over the team, but only if she can prove herself as the coach for an entire season. Luckily, hockey isn’t new territory for her. She grew up around the sport, understands the game, and knows exactly what she’s doing. Even stepping into a world dominated by men, Lennon carries herself with confidence and demands the respect she deserves.
The problem? Sasha, Dominic, and Holden aren’t exactly welcoming her with open arms. They have their own reasons for wanting Lennon gone, blaming her for things connected to her father that she knows nothing about. Their plan is simple: break her down. But what they don’t expect is that Lennon is their scent match, creating a connection none of them can ignore.
The relationship dynamic between Lennon and the three men is intense from the beginning. Sasha, Dominic, and Holden bring plenty of conflict, tension, and chaos, but the chemistry between them all is undeniable. Watching Lennon refuse to submit while they constantly challenge her made their interactions incredibly entertaining. She is strong-willed, stubborn, and absolutely not the type of FMC who sits back and lets others decide her fate.
What makes this story stand out is that it isn’t just a simple fated mates romance. There are secrets, betrayal, revenge, and plenty of emotional battles layered throughout the plot. The men’s actions are definitely questionable at times, so checking the trigger warnings before starting is a must, but it adds to the darker atmosphere of the story.
The pacing kept me hooked, and the twists left me needing answers. The tension between Lennon, Sasha, Dominic, and Holden continues building until the very end, and that cliffhanger? Absolutely brutal. I need to know what happens next and how Lennon will handle everything once the truth finally comes out.
Overall, Knot Your Pucking Baby was a dark, spicy, and chaotic hockey omegaverse romance filled with unforgettable characters, explosive chemistry, and a storyline that keeps you guessing. Lennon is the kind of heroine you want to root for, and the dynamic between her and the guys makes this series impossible to ignore. I’m definitely ready for the next book!
Knot Your Pucking Baby came in with hockey chaos, revenge-fueled drama, and just enough darkness to make me side-eye everyone in the best way.
Aesthetic: Why Choose • Dark Hockey Omegaverse • Revenge Plot • Bullying • Enemies to Lovers • Scent Matches • Unhinged MMCs • Pack Dynamics • MM Elements • Cliffhanger Ending
After her father passes away, Lennon is left with one very specific condition in his will: she has to coach his hockey team for one season before she can inherit it. That is how she ends up dealing with Pack Ars Mortis—Sasha Volkov, the star defenseman and captain; Holden Woods, the beta forward; and Domenic Hart, the equipment manager.
She expects the season to be manageable. After all, she has already proven herself as a coach, even in a world that keeps underestimating her for being both a woman and an omega. But of course, nothing goes smoothly. There is a stalker sending her messages, taking photos of her without her knowing, and even invading the one place that should feel safest: her nest. While she tries to keep herself together and act like everything is normal, she also cannot ignore the pull she feels toward the three men who seem determined to hate her.
I have mixed feelings about this one, but in a “this has so much potential” kind of way. The revenge plot worked for me. It really leaned into the bully and enemies-to-lovers energy, and the characters were diverse, messy, and interesting enough to keep me invested. Also, that cliffhanger? Rude. Effective, but rude.
That said, I did feel like the story needed more room to breathe. Some scenes that felt important were summarized or told through character POVs instead of being fully shown on page. And yes, I am very much a “show, don’t tell” book girly. Because of that, the book felt a little too short, more novella-length than full novel, and I think expanding those essential moments would have made the story more immersive. I wanted to feel more connected to the characters, the tension, the fear, the attraction, and the emotional fallout.
Still, there is a strong foundation here. It is spicy, dark, dramatic, and it has hockey. Honestly, that combination already knows exactly what it is doing.
[eARC]I did not expect to be so invested in this book that I'd devour it in one sitting. Ending on a cliffhanger, I can't wait to read Book 2.
The tropes included enemies to lovers, dark hockey omegaverse, scent matches and MMMF (boyfriends who are boyfriends).
The premise was intriguing; a woman coaching a men's NHL team with scent match dynamics thrown in. From the very beginning, I wanted to see how it would play out when Sasha, Holden and Dominic were able to scent Lennon but she was not able to scent them. She had no idea but was still feeling that connection.
There was some heaviness exploring past trauma, particularly around family, abuse, and loss as well as its lasting effects. Revenge was a strong theme in Book 1.
As for Lennon, I loved that she wasn't walking into the role not knowing anything about hockey but rather the exact opposite. Her moment on the ice with Sasha and Holden really showed that and I loved it. They definitely underestimated her. I enjoyed her strength of character and loved her reaction at the end of Book 1.
The men, Sasha, Holden and Dominic each felt different and I enjoyed getting their point of view chapters. The tension between wanting her but also wanting revenge gave all three of them a fascinating morally grey aspect. I can't wait to see their redemption in Book 2.
Overall, a nice change-up from other omegaverse books and I am eagerly awaiting the release of Book 2.
Knot Your Pucking Baby is a dark, fast paced, intense, spicy read that I absolutely could not put down. If you are a fan of dark romance, omegaverse, hockey, why choose (MMMF) or a baddie fmc that won't back down then this book is a must read! Lennon's dad is the owner/coach of the Vadena Cardinals hockey team. When he passes she gains ownership if she coaches the team for a season. But Lennon is no unknowledgabe rookie. Growing up she ate, slept, and breathed hockey. She may be a woman in a "man's world" but she is knowledgeable, spirited, and knows how to garner respect. Except Sasha, Dom, and Holden plan to make her life miserable and unalive her for the sins of her father that she isn't even aware of. But as fate would have it she is their scent match! This book does end with a heck of a cliffhanger. The undeniable chemistry, twists, and a captivating plot have me impatiently waiting to see how Lennon deals with things once the secrets come to light. I absolutely recommend this book but please check the trigger warnings before diving in! Our boys do some things that are more than questionable.
So this was my first Omegaverse read and oh my gosh I might just be obsessed. I loved the dynamic here, it was dark and suspenseful with so much tension. I loved the mmcs I think the dynamic between the 3 of them was fantastic and I loved see all their different personalities come through as well all the Omegaverse qualities made for an interesting time. The fmc she was so cool, I really enjoyed how strong and put together she was in the face of what she was going through but was able to be vulnerable when in private. I loved how she dealt with the boys and although not a lot of actual “relationship” stuff happens there is some amazing scenes between them. It’s been set up really well for the next book which I think will be fantastic. I can’t wait to see how things progress after that ending and see what happens after the reveal and the twists that come with that. In terms of spice, it’s not a whole lot there a few scenes as you get through the book not always involving the fmc so it’s probably about a 3/5. Overall, bring on book 2! I cannot wait that ending was everything and I loved this for my first Omegaverse I need more !! It’s a 5/5 for me. I ate this book up !
Please check trigger warnings before going into this
Wow wow wow. I didn’t expect that when I started reading this book. This meant your typical boy meets girl even though boy already has two mates book.
Lennon had no idea what she’d be walking into when she inherited the hockey team her dad once coached. What she got was so much more then she bargained for including Sasha, a man who wanted nothing more then to see her dead and his two mates, Dominic and Holden, who would do anything to see that it does, for their mate.
What adds the little twist to it is she is their scent mate and chosen one. Their attraction to her aside they go about torturing her psychologically while falling deeper for her.
The dynamic between them and her and the men themselves is electric and you can feel the tension the whole time.
Lennon takes no prisoners and doesn’t give in but neither do the boys. I can’t wait for the next instalment in the series.
Or does end on a cliffhanger so if not prepared to wait out it on your TBR.
Where to when begin? Knot my pucking baby is unhinged, feral and fully addictive!
A revenge plot that takes over, dark, deceptive bully tactics matched with a deep seated longing that can only come from fated scent matches.
Tropes Scent matches Enemies to lovers Dark hockey Secrets Betrayal Non con / CNC Mates Stalking
Lennon, from inheriting her father’s hockey team, with conditions of her coaching a season, already had an uphill battle being an unmated omega, coaching a team of blood boiling alphas. She’s not about to play into any stereotypes, she’s fierce, she’s determined and she’ll prove to everyone she deserves her spot.
Sasha, Holden and Dominic are Pack. They fight for each other only pack will. Sasha, riddled with nightmares, directs his revenge obsession onto Lennon. She doesn’t stand a chance.
This book has everything! Unhinged MMCs Obsessed stalkers Feral Alphas Barking into submission A cliffhanger?!
Knot Your Pucking Baby is an absolute CHOKEHOLD of an opener for the Heat & Havoc series!
This book checks all the boxes Omegaverse? ✔️ Boy Aquarium? ✔️ Make it DARK??✔️✔️ AND the boyfriends are boyfriends?!? Baby say less🥵🥵 I needed this book eons ago. This book features 2 broody Alpha MMCs, a sassy Beta MMC, and a strong, independent Omega FMC. I love a female lead character that doesn’t immediately throw herself onto every 🍆 that enters her approximate vicinity, and that is definitely Lennon. She’s got boundaries, a job to do, and is hell-bent on not caving to her instincts and the pull of her desires. But watching these men become her biggest nightmares while simultaneously breaking her just the way they want? Oh that may be my very favorite part 😈🔥 This book has a great balance between focus on hockey elements and focus on the conflicts between characters. In-depth, detailed storyline progression with visible character development. Perfect balance between plot and spice, both are top notch!🏆
Definitely heed the TW in this as some bits can get dark as stated.
I devoured this in one sitting. Poor Lennon really didn't know what she attracted when she took over the hockey team and met her scent matches. Man, did they screw up big time! The transition from hate to attraction/borderline love was done well but our girl isn't accepting any of that! The grovelling in the next book is going to be good I hope, the men will need it! I did like the dynamic between the men. Holden is definitely the one to accept the darker side of his alphas with no complaint and enjoys it. Dominic is the leader holding the pack together and keeping Sasha in check when he gets too angry. Sasha is definitely the problematic one but his past does haunt him constantly. All of them have suffered which they turned onto their omega. She didn't break and she didn't lie down and accept it. I can't wait for their major grovel session next book!
If you love Dark Bully Romance, Hockey and Omegaverse then look no further. Stalking, Morally Grey, CNC, MM, MF, MMMF 🔥🏒🪢 Also BLADE play…. Who would have thought…..
WOW!!! I couldn’t get enough!!!! 🖤🏒🔥Lennon who is a fierce lawyer and now she is the owner of a Hockey Team where she meets Sasha, Holden and Dominic who are out for revenge for her father’s wrongdoing but as soon as she steps into the room those 3 men realise the omega they want to take down is also their scent match. I enjoyed seeing these men being conflicted with their choices and seeing their different dynamics matched perfectly with Lennon.
The lies came out at the end which was heartbreaking for Lennon but leaves me wanting more. Cannot wait to see Lennon put these men in their places in Knot Your Pucking Secret. (Did I race to Amazon and pre-order book 2 ??? YES yes I did)
Before I get into anything else, I want to point out the most important thing in this book - THE BOYFRIENDS ARE BOYFRIENDS! 😩 my faveeeeee! (Also, omegaverse x hockey? HELLO WHEN TWO WORLDS COLLIDE?!) This was a roller coaster of a read! I’d not read any of Octavia’s or Lexia’s work prior to this, but this book has planted them firmly on my future TBR. The way these deranged asshole MMC’s had me SAT almost immediately upon meeting them in the book was wild & I needed to unpack their back stories immediately. These men know how to wreak havoc & hold a vendetta against someone which had me turning page after page to find out what their next out of pocket move would be lmao. I look forward to the next book in this series bc what the fawk was that ending and why would you leave me hanging like that!?
Knot Your Pucking Baby is a real treat for dark romance readers who enjoy bully romances with enemies to lovers theme ❤️🔥 Not only it was really well executed bully romance, it had omegaverse combined with ice-hockey world with plenty of smut, including MM, MF and MMMF, together with some special treats for those of us who enjoy to read darker themes 😜 Lennon the FMC really made this book special for me, as I really enjoy reading bully romances where the FMC is strong and capable woman who can handle the heat and dish it out in return 😈 I have really loved reading both Octavia and Lexia's books and this one delivered 💯% what it promised, and I can’t wait for the next book as this one finished on a doozy 😲
A pack of hockey alpha already formed a group , a young omega already a lawyer but her father the coach dies and his will states she must coach the team and gain ownership . Her love of hockey was forgotten when she went to law school but her father dying so suddenly has made up her mind she travels back to the beginning to coach the team ! This is her story and how the hockey alpha (3) have it out for her in more ways then one , family truths are given , stalkers, mind games and best friends but ends on a cliff for book 2 a nice change of pace to most alpha omega books
This is my second hockey dark romance book and this is definitely my favorite now! Lennon inherits her father's hockey team, after he passes away from cancer. Great thing is that she knows so much about hockey from growing up around it. Little does she know what's she going to be walking into. Right from the beginning she has 3 guys (Holden, Sasha, and Dominic) obsessed with her and it's a whirlwind from there. Sasha being the angry and broody one. I really liked the whole dynamic with the scent match, that was so unique! It was a very addictive story and the cliffhanger shocked me! I need the next one NOW!
Wholly crap. This book is just amazing. Hooked right from the first page. It has everything I want. I mean everything. Omegaverse. Hockey. Dark Romance. Why Choose. Unhinged Characters. Revenge. A lot of my favorite tropes. I love all the twist and turns. Oh my goodness that cliffy made me want to throw my kindle against a wall (of course I would never do that my kindle is life line).
I absolutely love Octavia Knightly and Lexia Arcane’s books when they write individually. Now with this book that they co-wrote together I was just impressed. They are both amazing writers and authors. I need book 2 like yesterday. Crossing my fingers it comes out soon!!!!
"You’re an enigma to me,” I confess quietly. “A contradiction. One that I am desperate to know."
Dark romance, hockey, bully, and some MM action that wasn't revolved around the female? Heck yeah. I fully expected this to end on some surprise-baby cliffhanger (judging by the seemingly obvious title) but was genuinely surprised when not a single surprise-baby popped up.
Sasha is an asshole but he knows it. Dominic is an asshole but doesn't fully seem to realize it. And Holden is just along for the ride agreeing with Sasha and Dominic.. which makes him an asshole.
Lennon deserved absolutely none of it, but I loved it anyway. Very dark bully romance of the men.
I am genuinely convinced this book has rewired my brain. It didn't just meet my expectations it absolutely obliterated them. From the very first page, I was completely obsessed and could not put it down. Every chapter had me gasping, laughing, crying, and questioning my entire existence.
The characters feel so real that I miss them already, and the writing is so beautiful I wanted to highlight practically every sentence.
This is hands down one of the best books I have ever read, and I will never stop recommending it to everyone I know
I was super keen to read this book and it lived up to every one of my expectations!
Its dark, so dark -check your triggers for this one!
A strong FMC who can hold her own and give as good as she gets. MMC's that will make you love them and hate them all at once and a storyline that keeps you turning one more page until its the early hours of the morning.
Lexia Arcane and Octavia Knightly have come together and smashed it with their first book of this series.
We have been broken and left on a cliffhanger. Book 2 better be coming soon!
I’m newer to the Omegaverse and this was a lot of fun! It was angsty, a healthy amount of the bully trope, and really entertaining. I loved how unique their Pack structures were and the guys all had very different personalities that fit them perfectly. I enjoyed that the Omega was also this strong woman willing to stand her ground but also stay in her feminine energy.
I’m excited for the next book since we’re left hanging on a cliff!
Although if you’re here as a follower of Octavia Knightly just note this is not a novella. This is book 1 in a duet/series that is cowritten
With that said I really enjoyed this one. Obviously the MMC’s are assholes, but that’s expected in a dark omegaverse, what I really liked was that the omega was a fierce independent woman.
What a read! Lennon was strong and confident yet vulnerable with her best friends. I love that she isn't as trusting as other omegas I've read but still did everything the right way for her job and team. The heartbreak is real when it hits that "ah hah" moment. I felt it hard and I can't wait for more from these characters. I really wish this book was longer! Book 2 can't get here fast enough.
Look it is simple, if you like dark OVs you should read this lol.
Absolutely loved it, it made my soul sing. The emotions were strong in this one. My one thing when I enjoy a book for it to be a 5 star read is it has to make me feel the emotions on the characters too, not just be well written and have a good story line. This had me in the feels, especially the ending like wtf am I meant to do now ladies???
Where are my why choose romance girles this is for you. Please check TW! We meet Sasha, Lennon, Dominic, and Holden. After her father passes away Lennon is left with conditions for the will she is to coach his hockey team for a season before she can inherit it. Once there she meets the pack. Sasha realizes that Lennon is his scent match. Soon Lennon realizes she has a stalker. What happens next read to find out.
Ok, at first I was like, these MMCs are unbearable. BUUUT then we get their POV and it changed my mind completely. I love it so much. So many things were left open ended, and so many questions still need to be answered. I really need the next book asap please and thank you.
Thank you to the authors for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!
