Rina Zeret is not prepared to settle down. At least, not with a genetically selected mate. She wants true love and a happily ever after. Unfortunately, her mother has other ideas and submits Rina’s biological material—the woman’s a hairbrush thief!—to the Population Ministry to see if they can find a genetic match for her. Suddenly Rina is presented with Tave fa V’yl, Crown Prince of Ujal, High Warrior of the Ruling Caste and Earth’s greatest ally.

Her mother is going to be so happy.

Tave fa V’yl is the strongest and fiercest warrior on all of Ujal and yet he cannot deny one tiny female—his mother. When he agrees to consider taking a mate this turning, he doesn’t realize she takes things quite a bit further and finds him a woman. On Earth. Now he is presented with a woman who doesn’t want him while he cannot think of anything past his wanting of her.

Rina fights their attraction but doesn’t realize Tave fa V’yl has never lost a battle… and he will not begin with her.

Tave is book two in The Ujal series. It’s a quick and enjoyable read.

I like the unique factor about The Ujal in that they are mer-alines who have set up a colony on earth and helped clean up the planet.

The book isn’t long, so things do move fast. I liked Rina and Tave. Their relationship is fast and they don't hit it off until they get over the gut punch of what their respective mothers have done. I liked the mothers. They brought some banter into the story. We do get a little suspense and danger in the relationship due to the anti-Ujal groups, but the Ujal Warriors can handle it. The world building isn’t outstanding, but we do get a little more information then we did in book one.

All and all Tave is a predictable storyline, but it was a nice quick read. One I enjoyed.

Estuvo bien, entretenido y ligero pero me quedé con ganas de más!

Tave de Erin Tate serie The Ujal libro 2

Let me start off by saying that these aren't very long books for someone who reads a lot. I finished each one in about an hour and a half. (I'm talking over the series.)

I do like these however! They are great if you want to take a step away from the normal para genre, or new adult. I found them fun, short reads. It's not often you read about Merpeople! (That's basically what I understand the Ujal to be.)

I liked this one better than the first one! It just felt more detailed and with more content. Plus the plot was more in-depth.

Probably actually more of 2.5 stars.

The unique factor of the Ujals, or mermaliens, continue to carry this series for me. Tave didn't even have the absurd humor that Vados had.

I liked the characters. I loved their moms. I even enjoyed the story. I just needed more. I needed this to have more sexy times if this was just going to be a smut book. Or I needed more conflict, if this was going to rely on the storyline. They met, they dated, they mated. The end.

Longer than book one but still novella length. I really love the witty dry humor. I know I said that in my review of book one but dang it, I wanna say it again.

This series is pretty hot, fun and: merMEN. It doesn't get much better than that IMO.

My only complaint was I wanted more details more world building more side character details just MORE in general. Not a bad thing but still qualifies as a complaint.

I like the idea of the world created in this series and the originality the "aliens" but this book was just mediocre for me personally. I didn’t really connect to the hero or the heroine. The insta-love was in full force and done to an overkill. It was just an ok read. I may check out more in the series at later date because fortunately they are offered on kindleunlimited, but there was nothing overly memorable with this one.

Another great read

Kinda felt rushed towards the end and wished there had been more closure or longer discusssion on their relationship. Wanted more of them as a couple. To much wham bam for me.

I will be reading the next one though

Tave

By: Erin Tate

3 “Merman Magical Spunk” Stars

Genre: Sci Fi Romance

Cliffhanger: No, but part of a series.

Price: $2.99 for Kindle; FREE on Kindle Unlimited

Quick Thoughts: At least it was longer than the first one.

I don't actually know what made me pick up the sequel to Vados seeing how underwhelming and confusing it was so I shall chalk it up to three things: It was free with my Kindle Unlimited subscription, I was bored, and for the LOLs. Yes folks, I must admit that a lot of my decisions are based on how much humor I will get out of the situation. What can I say? I never really fully grew up into my adulthood!

Luckily for me,  Tave is a full story. It has an actual beginning, middle, end, and even some actual plot thrown in to make it a far better read than the previous installment. Kudos to you Ms. Tate!

This one is about a woman named Rina. She is a single girl living in a beach front house that affords her the best view of the ocean. While she is content with living her life rather solitary, her mother is not. Unbeknownst to her, her mother took some of her hair and submitted her DNA into the database of the Population Ministry in the effort to get her a match.

Another overbearing mother had the same idea and submitted her son's DNA into the database, and what do you know, they were matched up together!!! The man in question? Why none other than the Crown Prince Tave fa V'yl, the ruler of the Ujal on Earth!

The Population Ministry then sends Rina mail to inform her of her match and that they will be sending an escort to collect her, but she thought the letters were spam and tossed them unopened. It is only when a pair of Ujal guards come to her house, while she was showering, and grab her does she find out what has happened. Poor girl didn't even have the time to finish washing the soap out of her hair, let alone wear anything more than her towel, before presented to Tave as his mate.

They meet, and Tave is instantly smitten with Rina, despite her dishevelment and swollen soap-filled eye, and wants to go ahead with their mating, but it is all a shock to Rina. Tave then agrees to instead, go on some "dates" with her in an effort to make her more comfortable with him, and that is where the book then takes off.

There is still not a whole lot of world building that I would expect in a Sci Fi book, instead she fills the pages with hot merman/human "bow-chick-a-wow-wow" in which the merman "genetic material" is magical and when she gets a load of his "hot meat injection" she gets scales and the ability to breathe underwater.

That in itself made me a little confused. The chick in the first book didn't grow scales when she banged Vados in her SUV. Is the author seriously trying to tell me that the girl "just so happened" to have condoms in the car, or Vados is the kind of boy scout that keeps a store of them up his asshole in lieu of pockets? I'm just going to go with the former, because while the latter is hilarious it is even more disturbing to think about.

While this book was entertaining to sat the least, it did make me have yet again more questions than answers. I hope in the other installments, Ms. Tate spends a bit more time with her plot and world building as she does with the sex scenes. While they are not really necessary in porn they  are equally as important in books.

This is not the most sophisticated world building alien series, but I like it because I am a sucker for this romance sub-genre. A lot of questions from the first novella were answered. I like the Dragons of Preor much better, and I believe the Ujal play a role in some of those books. That is the reason I thought I'd read about the Ujal. It was a satisfying read for those who like this sub-genre.

This lady is quite and accomplished writer. She sucks you in right away and of course that's the way I like it there's nothing better than to start reading, you're so into it you can't leave this page, this chapter, this book.
Looks like  “Intergalactic Mating Agency" has their fingers in many books now. I wonder if it's a real thing can you imagine?
Rina Zeret loves her life she has a routine every morning so she can get extra sleep. BUT today was a different story. Rina loves her mother dearly but at times she can be a pain, can you believe she stole Rina’s DNA to help thing along, she wanted grandchildren so she helped Rina find her match. Ohhhhh NO not happening.
Tave fa V’yl is the biggest, baddest warrior on all of Ujal. He is fair and just but he is Ruler and all will bend to him. Except his mother who he loves, but she wants Hatchlings, so she went to the Intergalactic Mating Agency to get his match and she was found his mate. This intrigued Prince Tave though he had not thought about a mate he wanted to see what Earthling was his match. Seeing her for the first time, struggling with his Royal guards enraged him how dare they put there hands on what is his. What!! Where did that come from?
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Great sci-fi romance

This is the story of the Crown Prince of Ujal Tave and Rina a human. After both of their mothers send in DNA to the Intergalactic Matchmaking service, it turns out that she is his mate which to both of them is a huge surprise. Rina answers the door to several Ujal bodyguards waiting to take her to Tave, but the problems are that she had no clue what was going on and she'd been in the shower getting ready to leave for work. When the guards break her door trying to get her to answer the door, she stops her shower in a hurry with soap still in her hair. It's when she answered the door that she gets soap in her eyes and her mother informs her abruptly that she's been mated and her mother had stolen her brush for DNA. The guards then wrap her up in blankets and take her straight to Tave with her eye swollen from the soap in her eye. Both of their mothers want them to have grandbabies so went behind both of their backs. It's when they first meet that the sparks start flying, but Tave is furious with her condition and rushes her to the doctor. It's a great story of love, manipulative moms, and the difficulty of mating with the Ujal while some on earth are wary. Definitely worth the read and you'll learn more of why the Ujal are on Earth which helps to understand the series.

I read Vados a while ago and then flipped over and ripped through the Preor series, so it took me a bit to get used to non-dragony Ujal again. Honestly, I enjoy these books. They entertain me. BUT...

Something about how the mothers of both Rina and Tave manipulated events to get the outcome they wanted bothers me. Like, I get that what they did brought Rina and Tave together, but...I don't know. It bothers me. I can see them sticking their fingers into their relationship again and again just because they can.

(And, yeah, I realize these books are supposed to be light-hearted and fun, but that level of manipulation never sits well with me. Even when it's for supposedly good reasons.)

THAT SAID, Rina and Tave do hit it off once they get over the gut punch of what their respective mothers had done. Their relationship does put them in a somewhat sticky situation with a few of the anti-Ujal groups, but it's nothing the warriors can't handle.

Enjoyable, but THAT THING bothered me. Still does. I'll have to see if Rhal can whisk the sense of betrayal away.

I love this series!

Tave is very respectful of his mother. She is determined to have grandchildren. Rina is smart. Independent and quick with words. When they first meet she is angry at her interfering mother. It all works out in the end. Love the book.

Pretty good!

This was pretty good but I have a problem with how fast and accepting Rina was about the mating. I felt like it was too much like Insta-love in this one. Other than that, I really enjoyed it!

This second story is just as cute as the first, just as passionate in their interacts, just as bloodthirsty in their possessive protectiveness. I also appreciated the question about Ujal met anatomy being answered. 😉

Alien PNR written with a sense of humor

This is the second story in the Ujal series and features the Crown Prince, Tave, and his human mate, Rina. While this could probably be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are reoccurring characters and an overall storyline arc.

Written for mature readers only (18+ years old) due to adult language and steamy adult intimate scenes. It involves a possessive dominant Ujal (think merman) with some of the stereotypical elements expected from the genre.

A quick summary to set up the background. The Ujal are ocean dwelling people who came to Earth after the waters were so polluted they were dying. They made a deal with Earth for a few concessions, two of which included setting up their kingdom in the ocean and establishing a sustainable recycling program.

Rina is taking a shower and preparing to go to work when someone keeps beating on her door. Yes, she is one of the few in the area to keep their residence instead of moving into a high rise. She finally gives in, turns off the shower, grabs a robe and answers the door. Their are two high ranking Ujal guards at her wondering why she isn’t ready ... uh, what are you talking about?!

Then Rina’s mother showed up while she was debating with the Ujal, and as soon as she seen her arrive, she knew that her mother was somehow involved. Come to find out she shouldn’t have keep tossing out all those notices she received that she thought was junk mail ... oops

Tave’s mother (dam) isn’t waiting any longer for her son to take a mate, he agreed to think about a mate this year ... so she submitted his DNA to search for a genetic match. Apparently one was found, whether he wanted her to be or not ... and she is supposed to be arriving any minute ...

Then Tave saw Rina being carried in by one of his guards and he immediately felt she was his mate and was being touched by another MALE ... that is completely UNACCEPTABLE ...

Rina Zeret is not ready to settle down and is determined to ignore her mother's insistence that she really should, and so her mothers goes behind her back and submits Rina's biological material from a stolen hairbrush to the Population Ministry to see if they can find a genetic match for her. Suddenly things move swiftly and she is matched with Tave fa V’yl, Crown Prince of Ujal, High Warrior of the Ruling Caste and Earth’s greatest ally. Tave fa V’yl is the strongest and fiercest warrior and yet he cannot deny his mother when and so he agrees to consider finding a mate this time. However, things move much faster than he expected and a match has been found for him. So he is presented with a human female who does not want anything to do with him and yet suddenly she is all he can think about. While Rina fights their attraction she has no idea that he has never lost a battle and does not intend to lose this one. Can they find a way to compromise and be together?

This was a nice full-length story that had the usual ingredients of a strong and determined woman, a strong and determined man who will do anything to make her change her mind while protecting her as best that he can, and an undeniable attraction that you just cannot deny (however how hard you try to). I liked Tave and how determined he was once he realised that he could not survive without Rina, and I also wanted to like Rina but she went too far with her denial of the attraction between her and Tave. Thankfully it all worked out and they were able to let their mating bear fruit and become so much more than they had ever imagined. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Hmm...I like the "merman" concept but it was too short to get attached to the characters. Aside from the alien species, the author hadn't really provided something new in the alien romance routine, something that will hook you, make you remember the characters and inspire in you the desire to know more, it's just the usual meet > recognition (either one-sided or otherwise) > court/date > mating-till-they-drop.

Mothers know best
When these two ole gals get involved there is sure to be a barrel of love and laughs. The author took us on an enjoyable journey full of invasive journalists, a cocky prince who actually ends up being kind and considerate, a reluctant mate match, and interfering mothers desperate for grand babies. I loved it! This book is full of everything I have come to expect from the author, including the HEA. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Love this series

This is the fourth time around reading. Have left reviews prior but obviously wants another. This is so different from other alien stories, as in they live in the sea but also on land. This story is about the Crown Prince finding his mate, not through their actions but two interfering mums, who are a United front until the rolling pins come out. Just love this series, and if you don't read it, you'll be missing out.

Celia Kyle is a fantastic story teller. You won't want to put the book down until you have read every word. The sexual situation are highly entertaining, a little racing but not porn. The plot line is believable, and it has very happy ending.
