Saving The Broken Country Star: A Sweet Country Rock Star Romance

Rate this book
A grumpy country superstar walks into my barn, we’re stranded overnight and I forget every rule I made about protecting my voice.

I run equine therapy for broken musicians. I don't fall for them.

Cash Wilder arrives burned out, blocked, and carrying wounds no stadium tour could fix.
Then an ice storm strands us overnight.

One office.
One bed.
Too close, too silent, too real.

Walls start to crumble; his first, then mine.

He leaves coffee on the feed room shelf without being asked.
Drives me to his family's Texas ranch.
A moment under the Panhandle stars.

And I sing for someone for the first time in ten years.
He hears every note.

Then his comeback story goes public and my name is in it.

The last time someone used my voice without asking, I locked it away for a decade.

If he leaves, he takes my voice with him, and this time I won't get it back.

A grumpy-sunshine country star romance about fresh starts, healing, and choosing love over fear.
This book is a stand-alone and does not need to be read in order.

Very thoughtful book. The author spends time showing you what the characters are thinking/feeling versus what they are saying. Cash is a country music star that hasn't been able to write a song in 4 months. When he comes to the equine assisted therapy center, he is still "performing". He still has his professional face on. This book is different in that the participants don't work with the horses, the horses work with them. Because horses don't lie. They know when you are pretending. I loved that perspective. Cash grew up on a ranch in TX so he is familiar with horses. He says that Emmet is friendly. Angel says he interested. As you read the book, you find that Emmet is nosey. I loved how the horses personalities were all brought into the story and the healing process.

Cash's manager thinks he needs to be out of the city - Nashville. So he stays at a rental house next to the center. He meets Angel at the fence line each morning with coffee as she is checking the fences and feeding the horses.

Angel has had trauma in her past and built walls. It is very interesting to see her walls come down and find the healing that she needs as well.

I highly recommend this book. It's not a fast read, but it is a very good read. You get to see the healing that goes on in both hearts.

Authentic Self

Cash Wilder is a country music star who is tired. He has been recording and touring and is burned out. He comes to a ranch for a equine therapy program for broken musicians. He starts to make progress when he stops performing and just tried to connect with the horse in an authentic way. He rents a farmhouse across the field from the barn. He is there for a couple weeks when the lyrics for a new song suddenly come to him. He knows he is writing about Angel. She has walls of protection like his. He wants to know her better but is willing to wait until she is ready. I'm January he returns to Nashville to record his new single and album. The single drops on the radio. He heard it first through the barn window. Angel is listening. She knows it's about her. He is careful about how he approached her. She might be angry. Instead she quietly tells him, "It's real." This is a book that explores broken relationships, healing hearts, and being honest with someone important. It's a great book. I highly recommend it.

Cash Wilder is a singer with creative block unable to write new songs. His friend Hayes suggests he try a stay at Sycamore Ridge where people go to find themselves again. He shows up and Angel Harte remembers him from his being at a dinner recently. Cash's first session is with Kit and the horse named Emmett. One down and 15 sessions to go. Angel is an equine therapist working for Ivy (Hayes' wife) there. Cash is staying at the farmhouse he rented next door. Angel's husband had made fun of her song and later they broke apart. Cash had been married to Shelby in the past until she fell for his best friend. Both have reasons to build walls to protect their hearts. Cash asks Angel to go to Texas to help his horse Sugar there. She meets his family and sees their ranch. By the end of his 16 sessions he wishes he could stay longer at the farmhouse. He is writing songs again and he realizes some are about Angel. Only time will tell if they can let each other "show up" for each other and trust each other enough to build a future.

“Saving the Broken Cowboy Star” by Kat Angel

-Cash is a country music star struggling with writer’s block who comes to an equine therapy center to find direction. Angel works at the center and keeps her emotions guarded, but Cash slowly breaks through her walls. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

The horses play an important role in the healing process and add heart and charm to the story. This is a sweet, emotional romance about healing, hope, and learning to trust again.

Angel is at the Sycamore Ridge, she's a therapist, Cash has hit a wall with his song writing, he had a bad experience which has affected his ability to write. The label aren't happy. He's here to try to connect again, to see if he can get the music back, to find himself again.
I loved Emmett!
A slow moving story about letting go, breaking down walls and releasing oneself.

Angel works at Sycamore Ridge as a therapist, one day Cash came to begin the equine therapy program as a participant she was impressed by his professionalism with the horse.
They worked together shared coffees , one day his manger called to say that they wanted something from him, but he couldn’t come up with anything, one evening it was raining he went near her and she gave him inspiration to write the song.
One day he tells her that his father’s mare is off and if she could go to check on her, they went to see, and the mare came back healthy.

An amazing book that I enjoyed reading

This was such a sweet story with Angel and Cash. Him s singer suffering a writing block, and her being a therapist that runs an equine. He heads there in hopes of finding his ability to write again. One storm, one small space, and the two connect on a deeper level. This was such a sweet and endearing romance with a lot of heart and warmth to it.
