I received this as an ARC copy!
If you’re looking for the perfect mix of sweet and spicy this is it! My personal favorites of the collection being A Lady’s Heart to Ransom (if you like a classic bodice ripper this will be right up your alley), Rollmates (which I think hit just the right spot of the feels), and Reese Gets Punished (👀). There’s such a wide selection of genres and tropes you’re guaranteed to find one that you enjoy!
Definitely worth the read and for sure worth supporting an amazing group of indie authors.
Can’t wait to read the other volumes!

The idea of Smutfest is so great! A four-volume collection, divided by overall vibes, becomes the ultimate romance choose-your-own-adventure. And although I’ve only had time to read through Volume 1, so far I’m very impressed!
This volume is about everything sweet and spicy - friends-to-lovers, workplace romances, casual relationships, sports romances, historical fiction, LGBTQ+ rep…the list goes on! If you like your romance on the more easygoing, stress-free, lighthearted side, this is the collection for you. The tropes range the gambit, smut levels vary, but nothing gets much more complicated than a Hallmark movie.
Was every story for me? No, of course not. Would any spice-loving romance fan find several stories to love? Absolutely. Personally, I’ve found several new authors to follow, and some of these stories will live rent-free in my mind for a good long while.

The idea of Smutfest is so great! A four-volume collection, divided by overall vibes, becomes the ultimate romance choose-your-own-adventure. And although I’ve only had time to read through Volume 1, so far I’m very impressed!

REVIEW My Best Friend by Joelle Lynne

Thank you @authorjoellelynne for my copy of the short story, My Best Friend, part of the Smutfest Anthology. All I knew before starting that this was a Sapphic romance. I literally squealed whilst reading the prologue when I realized this was Leah's story. Readers first met Leah in Forced to Share, and after finishing My Best 5 started rereading.
My Best Friend is a short and spicy Sapphic Best Friends to Lovers short story. An empowering idea leads to a spicy awakening and revelations. Concluding with a HFN.

Sweet but spicy anthology, I am so grateful to receive this ARC copy to review. Plenty of spice, but sweet and fluffy and romantic. I thoroughly enjoyed this, and now I also have a lot of new authors to add to my TBR. Favourite story: Rollmates by Toira O’Brady

This collection serves up twenty bite-sized romances from a fantastic range of indie authors, each bringing their own flavour of sweet, spicy, fluffy goodness. Think of it as a literary pick ‘n’ mix for romance readers — except every sweet comes with an extra dash of heat. 😉

These spicy and sweet stories were the perfect mix of romance and lust. I have a handful of clear favorites, but I think all of these are fun stories to read. Some of them are very emotional but end up in happy endings, so expect the need for tissues and happy tears. My top picks (potential spoilers):
Extra Credit - A woman starting over again midlife, taking control of everything for herself, finding someone who wants her for her.
Then And Now - Finding love in an unexpected place and not feeling worthy of it, running from it, only to find it never left you.
Ruin The Friendship - Finding out your best friend was your perfect match.
Rollmates - Starting a new life after everything is torn away and finding a new best friend to show you life still goes on and there can still be love.
Love Was Meant To Last - Abandoned and heartbroken, finding love in that childhood friend.

Having only read one of the short stories so far, that being My Best Friend by Joelle Lynne, I am looking forward to reading more of this anthology!
My Beat Friend was a great short story that covered the well known trope of one best friend pining after the other. My only, ONLY complaint is that it wasn't long enough! I need more! The two characters were well written, and the angst was there. It also had a fair bit of spice to it, which is not a terrible thing! I highly recommend it, and again, look forward to the rest of the anthology!

Wow, volume one is categorized as being on the sweeter side, while that's true there is definitely no lack of spice. All of these reads, are of the one handed variety. You get every type of pairing imaginable. You got strangers, best friends, coworkers, neighbors and all other dance partners you can dream up. Now mind you this anthology is a 4 part series. This first installment is coming in at over 800 pages. The biggest one is yet to come, but I like them in all sizes. 😉

Smutfest Volume One contains twenty short stories.
The Stag, written by KL Thorne, was a fantastic addition to this collection. Isaac is the last single friend of his friend group and when they go on a Stag trip, he finally meets the one person who is meant for him. The moments between Isaac and Dan were hot, hot, hot. Both were discovering new things and working through them together. It was a quick read, but filled with a great plot and amazing spice.

A sweet & spicy anthology with 20 smutty stories to love with some of them being so sweet you'll be giddy kicking your feet to others that'll have you looking around your house making sure your doors are lock twice and your windows are closed. The spice in this book had my 68°F house feeling like it was in the 100's. If you want a quick little fix of smut or even a binge (I did) then this is the read for you. I highly recommend!

I have only read My Best Friend by Joelle Lynne so far but i am looking forward to reading all the others.
My Best friend was an amazing short story with some spice, lots of angst and a friend pining for the other. It was written well and kept me entertained the whole time and even though i wanted more by the end it was definitely worth the read.

A great well-rounded anthology with a mix of sweet and spicy romance. There's a little bit of something for everyone in this. I enjoyed reading the variety in the stories. Entertaining and satisfying.
