Don’t get me wrong, I love reading every romance trope under the sun, but my absolute favourites are the ones where, from the very first page, you know you’re reading a pure love story. No unnecessary third-act breakup. No angst between the couple. Just two people falling in love while facing whatever life throws at them together. The drama comes from the outside world, not from them. Those are the books that have me smiling from beginning to end, with that grin getting bigger and bigger as every chapter passes.

*screaming* because this author is just plain amazing! I have read and re read all her books so many times I know them like the back of my hand. When she stated this new series and new book would come out but not in her MC era but a Small Town I knew I JUST KNEW she would knock it out of the part, and that she did!!!!!

Small town found family feel, alpha MMC, sweet FMC with a backbone, brothers, light danger, ROMANCE, so much swoon and spicy with an extra kick! Devoured this book in one sitting and I didn't want it to end!

FMC moved to her aunt's small town after breaking it off with her scum of an ex and not to mention her parents who really shouldn't have been parents. She can work from anywhere and also help her aunt's restaurant/bar so it was perfect for her. To break free! Then she meets the MMC who has his eye set on her from the moment he saw her. Not only was she beautiful but so kind and their energy together was sizzling. The MMC is a local boy born and raised and is a mega super country star. Very family oriented and ALPHA! I just loved the easy feel with danger thrown in and a little spice.

I need the rest of the books RIGHT NOW PLEASE because there are so many characters I hope will be part of this new series!!! This is another book by this author that I will never forget about and remember which is hard for me being a mood reader! IYKYK

perfection, just absolute perfection!! A emotional rollercoaster that hooks you from the beginning and does not let go !! Oh my gosh guys !!! I really am so freaking in love and obsessed with this absolutely amazing series / world that Megan has so flawlessly created !! And we’re only on book 1 ) I read a ton of romances by so many crazy talented authors and filled with so many different tropes . That being said, it really has been a minute since I’ve picked up journey that’s primarily focused on the connection and the love shared between the two main characters. That’s exactly what you’re getting with Hudson and Lucy’s story . It’s so beautiful and so extremely emotional you genuinely feel like you’re experiencing everything right along with them . The good times and the hard times and everything in between. Sure they had their bumps and challenges along the way . But what I loved was how they faced it all by each others side . How they fought for their happy ending. These two could not be more different- they come form different backgrounds and live different lives - but the second their eyes meet , that’s it it’s end came - well for Hudson at least . It takes a little longer for Lucy to catch up , but once she does - of man does she fall so hard and fast !! It really was so fun to watch . Beyond The Spotlight is guaranteed to make you smile , have you laughing out loud , crying like a baby and yelling and cheering so freaking hard .

I have been a fan of this author since I read her MC series years ago, and so glad to read her again. Hudson was such a sweetheart, and he was so patient and caring towards Lucy. And loved that Lucy stood up to her ex and her parents and she had no issues standing up to Hudson too.

Loved the story, loved the chemistry, the characters and family and I am so in love with Hudson’s brothers and can't wait for more 😊

Oh isn't that the million dollar question ⁉️ 
Having moved across the world at 40, I do know how leaving the life you've known, to start again somewhere new feels like (luckily my soulmate moved with me)
I quickly fell into this storyline, as Lucy moved across states to the sleepy town of Green River. She was a character I could emphasize with.
Hudson... Oh Their first meeting was a really good scene, and I did chuckle as Lucy put him in his place.
Hudson was a very likable Book boyfriend, hes handsome but he wasn't arrogant, he's over the lifestyle that the music industry has brought him, and when Lucy stepped into the picture, he knew she was 'The One'.
I liked how the romance was paced, and the funny moments were just right for this to be an easy small-town romance Read.
In fact I have just started an old Nora Roberts book that coincidentally has a female character that Also leaves her unfulfilled life to find herself... And this book has the same easy storytelling that transports the reader into another life and experience... Which is why I read.
I will definitely be looking forward to the next book in this series.

Another sweet amazing book by Megan O’Brien

This book was so sweet and funny, I loved it. I love Megan’s books and she did not disappoint. Can not wait for the next one in this series.

This book is about Hudson and Lucy. Lucy is fed up with her life in DC and being treated like a doormat. She breaks up with her boyfriends and moves to the small cute town of Green River where her aunt and cousin live. Well after she gets to town she goes to her aunts restaurant/bar where she crosses eyes with Hudson Carter. Oh boy there is a sizzle in the air after that contact. The encounters these two have after their first leads to a whirlwind romance that had me laughing and heart melting in sweetness.

Beyond the Spotlight was worth the wait. I did not know what to expect with this one, but it was so good. I really enjoyed Hudson's pursuit of Lucy. These two were so cute together. I loved them together and individually. This book gave me all the feels. Beyond the Spotlight had steam, made me laugh, love, family, and suspense. I read this front to back in one sitting. I couldn't put this book down. This book was a good read.

I already loved Megan O'Brien. I've read all her books multiple times. I'm so happy for this new series. If you've read her you know she writes characters you love. You know how in some books (a lot for me in fact) you love one of the couple and the other pisses you off part of the time? Yeah, none of that with this author.

Instant attraction like a thunderbolt. They don't jump into bed and they don't do the push pull. They get to know each other and we get to know the characters who populate the town. All characters have meaning to the plot even if in a small way.

The setting Green River, Colorado. A new family (the Carters)
This is Hudson (a famous country singer who prefers his small hometown) and Lucy (daughter of political social climbers).
Lucy leaves her indifferent boyfriend and moves to Colorado to start over with her Aunt Goodie, her cousin single-mother Daphne and Daphne's toddler daughter Jojo. A chance encounter with Hudson sets the pace.
Hudson's family is his parents, brothers Griffin (police chief), Riley (runs family construction Co.) and sister Haley who has a young son. Lucy makes friends with Katie & Greta who round out the core family/friend group for this story.

Love how Hudson wooed her but make no mistake he is hella in love and protective of her. Lucy, was everything you want her to be, smart, loving, humble and no doormat. And by that I don't mean she was loud or abrasive. She was firm and calm when confronted with hard situations. And oh, the things Hudson said to her are swoony.

So, needless to say I'm so happy M.O. is back with a new series.

Oh and dare I hope? Perhaps a future second chance at love for her aunt, fingers crossed.
