Willa Hutchinson is in trouble. With her Alpha now dead, the lead falls to her. Problem is, she’s an unmated female in charge of a pack of young shifters. Suitors and challengers are coming from miles around to attempt to claim her territory, her pack, and her! Willing to fight to the death to defend her pack, she knows the odds of survival are slim. She needs a plan, she needs help, she needs a hero.

Barron Kane is a man on a mission. Should be easy enough. Repay his debt to his brother by heading to Minnesota and helping out an old friend. How hard could it be? Problem is, the old friend is anything but old and once Barron commits himself to playing the role of Willa’s mate and protecting her and her pack, it’s impossible to convince his wolf it was all a ruse.

My pack territory is in Central Montana, between Stone Crow Estates and the North Fortress. Born and raised in an untamed location that bridges the gap between rolling prairies and majestic mountain peaks, I am born to a family that also bridges the gap between cultures. My father’s people boast a fiercely proud Scandinavian ancestry while my mother’s tribes descend from two savagely beautiful and unique nations (White Clay and Nakoda) that inspire my Skin Walker series.

I'm a huge fan of MMA, boxing, 30 Seconds to Mars, DMX, Nahko and Medicine for the People, and 21 Pilots (“…sometimes quiet is violent”). I also love to read because it encourages me to write. (I hate it when authors add that they love coffee and chocolate. Really? Who doesn't love coffee and chocolate?) Anyway, I love beer...kidding. I don't love beer but we are engaged in a very serious relationship. (Mom, please don't call me when you read this.)

Please leave feedback….well, only if it’s positive. “Keep in mind that I’m an artist and I’m sensitive about my shit!  (Erykah Badu lyrics!)

Let me be your shield

Another alpha with a heart of gold! This author really does an amazing job of creating her alpha males. She takes all of that aggression and points it to the bad guys and turns them into the shield for his chosen pack. I love each of these characters, from Willa who is in an impossible situation, the kids who are almost lost and needing reassurance, to the alpha male who found exactly what he didn’t know he was looking for. This book is a fantastic read and the perfect addition to the series. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Awesome

This is my favorite book of this series. Loved the relationship. Willa is great female character. She is strong but has a soft heart. Barron is a perfect male lead. Really love this book.

Quick read, but very entertaining

4-4 1/2 stars. I thought this was a little different from other books I read from this author--especially this series. I thought it had a "lighter" feel to it--more of an actual romance than the violence and suspense I notice from these books. I really liked the characters--I felt the were very well done and relatable. There was a bit of action, and a couple sex scenes that were just enough. Mostly, I got a feel for the struggling female alpha trying to keep her young pack together, and a totally alpha male who steps into a role no one--even him--expected. Secondary characters were just as entertaining, but didn't take away from main couple. It was a rather short story, and I read it quickly, but I really felt it packed a lot in.

WOW!

Ok. I loved Evander but I never thought I would love Barron more. I thought he was a jaded jerk. He changed my mind immediately. Wills is so great. She loves her lack family and fiercely fights for and protects them. I love that Barron has to work for Willa. He has had things come too easily for him. Really liked this one. Maybe more than Evander. But. How come he didn't know that the pain signaled his mate had appeared?

Another great read

This author breathes life into her characters. You feel like you know them and feel for them accordingly. The storyline was easy to follow even with the tangents thrown in for good measure. You become involved, and even though, to me, this was not the strongest, it was still a 5* compared to other books I've read.

A Family in Need Gets a Hero

This is the best book so far in the series. I loved the children and the female alpha trying to save her pack. So happy I bought the first 4 books in the series. Now to go get the next one.

Great!

I liked the way it was written as well as the characters and the way that they interacted with each other. I also like the story and the way that it ended. Love can conquer all.

This was a magnificent book and I really enjoyed reading it, it was very emotional in some parts and really cute. The great thing with this author is that there's always a happy ending and this is the best part because I hate tragic endings.
I LOVED IT :D
