Maxim is a droid halfsie, part human and part android, created in a lab. Now free from the madman that converted him, he must find a way to make a new life for himself. One Droid halfsie plus one Arian halfsie equals hot, hot,hot!
Maxim was once human but when he was severely injured, Medical Doctors failed him and shipped him off to be experimented on. But after being rescued from that life, his family could not reconcile the cold, logical being with their former family member and he left to stop causing them further pain.
Alona may be beautiful, a legacy of her model mother and actor father, but she is a dedicated fighter. No fake fights for her. But her biggest fight is against her feelings for Maxim.
Watch fake dates morph to real ones and forced affection be replaced by eye scorching passion! Loved it!

I am giving this review on behalf of Kats Book Promotions/ Katsindiebookblog. This was such an interesting read, I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was highly impressed. After being treated like a lab rat and becoming half human / half android, Maxim was able to escape and ended up joining a cage fighting association. With not having any memory of his past or even knowing how to be around other people, Maxim ends up not being a likeable character. The association thinks it might be a good image pusher to make him more likeable to be seen out in public with one of the female fighters. Alona, who is a “halfsie” as well, is one of the best and beautiful female fighters that the association has. When asked to help build up Maxim’s character, she’s all for it, willing to help a friend and fellow fighter. However, things start slowly heating up between the 2. Things are never that simple though, Maxim’s past comes back to haunt him which puts both him and Alona in trouble. Can they both be saved? Can Maxim come to terms with his past as well as deal with the evil it brings? Is there even a possible chance at a future for the 2 “halfsies”?
This book had me from the first page. It is a constant, action packed book which will keep you on your toes wishing you don’t have to put the book down for one second.

I loved reading about Maxim. I was hoping he'd get a story. We briefly read about him in Torch I think it was. Half droid. The things he went through and was tortured like that being converted to what he was today. Lots of people think he is void of emotion and is basically a robot. He's not they just were suppressed and he didnt quite understand them so he blocked them out. He's always liked Alona from afar but never approached her. That was until she was asked to help him with his image. I mean she was getting something out of it too. More pay and less engagements in public. However, she quickly realized there was more to him and started to like him quickly and wow their chemistry was hotness! I kinda felt bad for Soren in a way. It wasn't his fault that he was created like that and he had no real control over his rage/anger. It was just kinda sad but he did have to be put down because he did kill a woman who resembled Alona. I read some hints about Nigel and Amelia his assistant...hmmm there's something there for sure on her part but she kinda refuses to talk about it or acknowledge that. Shes afraid to. Nigel is hard to read sometimes. He's got a tough job. I look forward to reading about them. Also, the end with Ronan and Sersan. LOL. THATS interesting! Her brother Esan too. He's complicated as well. So many more characters KD! :)

April 23, 2015I have only ever read one other book about android men or cyborg men or anything remotely like this book. Maxim is in a league all its own. It has modified humans and alien races along with a slew of other interesting lifeforms. It made for a myriad of different characters and personalities. There were some grammatical errors but nothing too bad. This was a standalone novel so a huge point in its favor when reading it. I just can not get over the uniqueness of this book.
Maxim was basically kidnapped and turned into a droid halfsie. He was never the same person again after that. He was more machine than human and became stoic and analytic. He was part of the GCFA (Galactic Cage Fighting Association) and had to make him look more human or approachable so they asked the lovely Alona to help out. She did it so he would not be out of a job and because she has a soft heart. For Maxim this is a test to his circuits. She makes them all zing in the most interesting way. She makes him feel VERY human.
Everything is going great until his past comes back to haunt him and tries to take everything he has and everything he wants away from him. To top it off Alona may not be safe. Maxim is a wonderful story and brought my imagination to life with a world I never imagined. I recommend it and look forward to reading more and plan on reading back.

I was given an ARC but this is my honest review.
Where to start? I love this series and in all honesty this is one of the authors who doesn't get credit for delivering great characters or reads. Maxim is a Cage Fighter but what is different is he is a not entirely human.
Alona is a halfsie who is also a cage fighter and she is not your average heroine( help me, whiney, come save me kinda girl).
I am not going to give away plot cause what fun is that? Just going to say you take one emotionally locked down fighter add in a beautiful woman who "gets him" and you have Maxim. Oh yes there is drama and villains you want to take care of yourself but there is also a well written fun read. Do yourself a favor and pick this book up today.

I really enjoyed the book! Something new and fresh. Maxim and Alona had amazing chemistry together. I also really enjoyed how Maxim's story played out and what love can do to a person. A perfect read and a great addition to the series!
