As a teenager trapped beneath the expectations of my wealthy adoptive family, I found my escape in Zayne Harmond. He was late nights, hidden touches, and the only place I felt understood. I walked away and joined the Marines, believing whatever existed between us would stay in the past.
I was wrong.
Now I’m a wounded veteran working with Cerberus to take down sex trafficking rings in East Tennessee, and fate has put Zayne back in my path. Only this time, we’re assigned to the same undercover case, infiltrating a dangerous paramilitary organization tied to multiple missing women.
Years ago, getting caught with him would’ve ruined my reputation.
It's great to be back in Tennessee with this chapter of Cerberus! I've missed these characters! I love how the MM situation isn't a big deal within the chapters.
As we all know, none of these missions are pleasurable, but the past relationship between these two guys made this task even more dangerous! This pair is easy to relate to, and I enjoyed seeing how things resolved between them. They have an undeniable chemistry and mutual attraction that is quite the problem, given where they are!!
There were a couple things I could have done without, but that's true of any story. The pages turned themselves and I enjoyed my time.
I am super excited for the next story and recommend reading this MC in order, by chapter, for the best experience.
I think Zeus may be my favorite book by Marie James except for Kincaid which was the first MC book I ever read. She has done a great job of putting Zeus with Zayne together. I started this book earlier today and it is now way past my bedtime because I couldn't put the book down until I reached the happily ever after ending. There is some sparks and steam within this story. And there was just enough angst and danger to keep you turning the pages. I honestly loved this book and I wish the next in the series was out now!
This was an intense, complex, and suspenseful story that will hook you from beginning to end. As usual, Cerberus MC never does anything by half measures, instead going full throttle. It's certainly not a story or series that you'll want to miss!
I rarely ever comment on the book covers, but I just couldn't resist this time. When I first saw this cover, it honestly looked like it was 2 different people! If I didn't know better, I would have thought it was for a paranormal story - the way the light covers half of his face and the darkness covers the other half, it would be perfect for an angel &/or demon story! (And NO, I'm not saying that he looks like a demon, or that he isn't attractive!!) It looks like there's two completely different people in one. Love it!!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
LOVED THIS STORY!!! Zeus was not happy when Zayne showed up at the Cerberus house in Gatlinburg. He was a blast from the past he was not expecting. He was even less happy when they were paired to go undercover into a situation that proved very dangerous. Even harder for Zeus was dealing with his past and present feelings for Zayne which made their mission even more dangerous. Lots of edge-of-your-seat, white-knuckle action and suspense, drama and spice along with some humor, some involvement from New Mexico, a little more bonding for the guys in Tennessee. A really great story!
I have been a little stressed wondering where my emotional support author was because there have been no new books announced for awhile. I have missed you Marie James! While this one wasn’t one of my favorites, I did enjoy parts of it. It didn’t have the same feel as most of the others in the Cerberus universe. I can’t decide if I’m more excited about Nyx or Zero’s story yet, but I have a feeling they’re going to be great with what we get on them in this book!
I love the Cerberus books. I also love the Lindell books. When is number five coming out for the Lindell series. Please keep writing more of the wonderful books.
I love stepping back into Cerberus MC world. While Tenneessee branch isn't my favorite, what they do is so necessary. I prefer the go in guns blazing and rescue missions to these undercover missions TN team has to do.
Zeus and Zayne had a lot of childhood trama and past hurts to get through in a super volitile situation that they REALLY should've shelved until a safer time ... but then there's no drama.
