Rate this book
Mira is twenty-six, an art student in Germany, and lives for her work.
Until one day, she receives a message from a stranger.

He asks her to create a mask.
Not as an art project.
But as protection from something he refuses to name.

Mira should ignore it.
Instead, she answers.

What she doesn’t the man behind the message is no ordinary client.
He is Veil, the mysterious singer of the globally celebrated anonymous band Shadow Tides – a band that feels more like myth than reality.

The deeper Mira is pulled into his world, the more the lines between music, identity, and something impossible begin to blur.

Something dark clings to Veil.
Something that doesn’t merely watch.

And Mira seems to notice it too.

Caught between creative obsession, forbidden intimacy, and a presence that seems to move through the music itself, she finds herself trapped in a connection there is no returning from.

A Rockstar Romance filled with secrets, obsession, and a darkness that breathes through music.

Honestly, better than I expected for a ST fanfic. It still has the fanfic vibe, but it still managed to captivate me. The supernatural aspect of the story was quite interesting as well. I’ll definitely read the next books.

Two things that I did notice (but that’s because I do quality checks for living) there were two places where instead of “Shadow” there as the word “Sleep”, and there was one bottom quote instead of top/upper one. But that didn’t throw me off the book. Still liked it!

Easy written fanfiction with a typical "I am not like the others" protagonist.
Plot was foreseeable but not too bad if you like to have a book snack.

Needs a proofreader though. Some phrases didn't make too much sense and an overall too much use of "gentle". And use of adjectives felt a bit like a writing school student.
Nevertheless, I am sure the next one will be better.

Are you a reader who loves Sleep Token? You need to read this book!

I happened to stumble across this book while scrolling through my socials and I’m so glad I took a chance and read it.

Nate is the lead singer of the world famous anonymous band Shadow Tides. To the world he’s know as Veil a musical genius who creates these emotional and powerful songs, but off stage Nate is a sweet but complex guy.

Mira is a German art student who happens to cross paths with Nate when he commissions her to create a mask for him and she soon discovers that Nate is no ordinary guy. The connection between the pair is undeniable and Mira is soon pulled into Nate’s world and discovers there is much more to Nate than meets the eye. There is something dark and powerful that clings to him.

This story was a really fun read, while it has fanfic vibes - I really loved the paranormal twist to the story. Mixed with a good slow burn between our main characters I was hooked from start to finish and was left wanting more. I can’t wait for the next instalment in the series.

Only docking a star for grammar and punctuation mistakes, as well as Shadow randomly being called Sleep which threw me off.

Otherwise, it was a pretty solid read that didn't take the sexy bits too seriously. I can definitely feel the longing for a Sleep Token concert in the author's writing. Going to a Ritual, for a lot of us, is an experience that will change you and make you feel full of so many emotions. I could feel the author using this story as her outlet for that.

I am looking forward to the next book(s)!

"He chose me. You can't save him."

This isn't your regular rockstar romance. It's slow burn. It's yearning. It's a paranormal entity haunting both Nate and Mira. The Shadow We Worship is a story not only for ST fans, but anyone who enjoys a good story of mystery and yearning will eat it up 🖤🌹

Congratulations Muse 😘🖤
