Valentina was an incredible heroine. After surviving an abusive relationship, she has spent years rebuilding her life, creating success through hard work, determination, and control. Every locked door, every carefully planned detail, and every professional achievement represents a piece of the life she fought to reclaim. What I loved most about her was that she never loses herself. Even when circumstances force her into Sebastian's world, she refuses to surrender the independence she worked so hard to earn.

You might want to make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Valentina has been trying to outrun her past for so long but no matter what she did her past seemed to follow her but for now she is in a good place fixing every problem before anyone sees it so every perfect event she is behind the perfection, maintained control until her brother’s best friend walks back into her life and the battle for control begins. Sebastian sexy as all get out with a reputation proceeding him he isn’t a man you want on your radar, dangerous, ruthless, on a good day, deadly every day, he was a man who usually got what he wanted, when he wanted danced in the gray areas and he needed Val to accept the contract the gala with double the fees. The magnetic pull between them can’t be ignored but they both know they need to walk away from one another yet the more she tried to remain professional the stronger the pull so giving in one night just to satisfy the pull thinking it would solve what was growing between them, but it only made things worse. Sabastian’s life starts to bleed into hers the violence something she has tried to maintain, to control, until he decides that he needs to protect her by locking her behind guards, gates, cameras, security, oh and so many rules but what he didn’t count on was her fighting him ever step of the way she came from an abusive background where control was disguised as control as love so now she isn’t going to accept that again but will he see that change is needed, will they come to an agreement that works for the both of them and can they find happiness somewhere along the way?

If it weren’t for the female lead, I would have given it 5 stars.
I’ll be honest here—I apologize if this review comes off as a bit harsh. And there are a few spoilers.
In all the mafia novels I’ve read, I’ve never come across a female lead as infuriating, selfish, and immature as Val. She’s independent, sure, but I found her character very hard to like.
She’s experienced deep trauma from the abuse in her past relationships, including with her last psycho ex. But instead of understanding Sebastian’s position and decision—that he wants to protect her and has explained his reasons, since her psycho ex is starting to get close to where they live—Val throws a huge tantrum and refuses to accept Sebastian’s decision. As if adding salt to the wound, Val decides to run away, and guess what—she goes back to the place her psycho ex has been targeting from the start. And guess again—there, she’s not only putting herself in danger but also endangering her best friend and the child Val is carrying. I literally screamed with glee when she was kidnapped by her ex: “Yeah, you deserve that.”
Val may be an independent woman, but going so far as to endanger her unborn baby and her own best friend is far from mature.

There was something about Val, his best friend's sister that drew Sebastian to her. Val is fiercely independent and refuses to be controlled. She also knows her business of event planning and has been working her way up in the LA scene. When Sebastian offers her a gala that they do yearly, she thinks this is her chance. He also doubles her fee which is very nice. She knows he is going to be the client from hell and basically tells him that but wants this success. They work very closely together and even though Nico, Val's brother, warns Sebastian off sleeping with her sister, one night they succumb to temptation. She thinks it is just a one-night stand. Her previous relationship was a disaster, and she does not want anything so disappears before he wakes up only to learn six weeks later that they are now expecting. She also has a stalker after her and knows it must be her ex from hell. When Sebastian learns all this, he moves her into his mansion. She has all her walls up and can't stand being trapped in his mansion, but it is for her own safety. Will they be able to make it work or will it all fall apart? This was a good mafia romance. Enjoy!

This is a great addition to the Sinful Mafia Daddies Series where we find Valentina moving to LA closer to her brother, Nico and leaving behind an abusive relationship that’s turned her into a different person. Being an event planner Valentina’s able to keep her events running smoothly with her organization and great staff. When Nico’s best friend and boss, Sebastian, needs an event planner he interviews Valentina and hires her on the spot for double her fee along with a warning from Nico to keep is professional. Over the next 6 weeks they work closely together and the attraction between and fight the temptation until the night before the Gala they sleep together and it’s more than a hook up. Valentina keeps it professional the. Discovers she’s pregnant and her ex comes back to torment her. Sebastian being the controlling Mafia man he is, takes Valentina to his mansion for protection. With Valentina’s independent ways and never able to depend on a man she fights him the entire time putting herself in an unsafe situation. I think this may have been a favorite of mine. Val has been through a lot and made it out on the other side. Now she's building her party-planning business, and she's nailing it. I loved how, under any pressure, she stayed cool, calm, and collected. She made sure her clients were well taken care of. When her brother makes her go to family dinner, she's dreading it, but he's all that she has. What she didn't expect was his best friend, Sebastian. Sebastian is successful in both business and the underworld. He doesn't let anything go, and he's about to burn the town down to find out who is playing him. I really wanted to enjoy this story as the premise is one I usually like however I could not get past Val! I just didn't like her or how she reacted through out the story to Sebastian and even Nico. Sebastian said it correctly I'm not Adrian and while I could respect what she went through with Adrian she seemed to have pushed that off on Sebastian constantly. I also dislike the whole independent woman who can do the most when in danger. If Sebastian's goal was to protect her and the baby why go the whole I don't want to be controlled kept prisoner. Ma'am this is for your own protection not to control or keep you prisoner that is what Adrian did. That would be my biggest issue. Definitely liked Gia and Nico.

This story follows Valentina and Sebastian’s road to their HEA. After leaving physically and psychologically abusive relationship with a powerful man, Valentina moves from NY to LA, where her brother Nico lives. She is an event planner and while at her brothers house for dinner, Sebastian (her brother’s best friend) contracts her to plan a charity gala for him. There is banter between them and the the mutual list begins to grow. After a night together, Valentina all but pulls away from him, much to his dismay. Until she realizes that her past may be back for her.
The plot kept me engaged and the spice was not lacking or overdone. I would recommend this book and author.

Valentina is a woman who has her life together. At least that what it appears. She's an event planner and can anticipate just about everything that could go wrong and handles every little detail. Though Val is hiding a secret. Sebastian is a little older and a mafia boss. He's friends with Val's brother and the attraction is immediate but he hires her to plan his gala. Being close things happen between and it forces them to deal with the truth about themselves. For Valentina it's finally trust a man not to hurt her. That not every man wants to hurt her. For Sebastian this is his first time for being captivated by a woman and not wanting to let go. So when he finds out her life is on the line he will do what it takes to save her.

We all know the character. The one who goes into the ransacked house. We're all screaming at her not to go in there, but she goes anyway. Valentina has a couple of those moments in this book. She is incredibly stubborn and her ex was very abusive. That combination makes it difficult for her to have a relationship with Sebastian but the circumstances throw them together. There are no grand romantic gestures, instead there is solid support which is what she needs even though she doesn't realize it.
I like Valentina and Sebastian, and I think I like Gia, Nico and Matteo just as much. They added a lot to the story.

This was a fab and engaging brother's best friend romance and I loved seeing Sebastian fall so hard for Valentina. Val has had a rough past with an abuser but she's made a new life for herself and owns a successful event planner business. She needs a night off, though and ends up with Sebastian. These two have such a hot chemistry but she wasn't looking for more than a one-nighter. Ha! Of course, things get complicated when she finds out she's pregnant. Sebastian has been crushed over her 'rejection' and is thrilled when he can step fully into her life to keep both her and their baby safe. Expect to get caught up in the emotions, chemistry, drama, danger, action and hot romance as these two work their way to a fab HEA. Good fun!

The characters were very complex and compelling and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!

The characters were very complex and compelling and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!

Wow. I absolutely devoured His Obsession by Natasha L. Black. I love forbidden mafia romance and Sebastian and Valentina's story was dynamite. Valentina moved to California to escape her abusive ex and to be closer to her brother Nico. Now that she is living closer Nico has become more protective of his only sister. Sebastien knows Val is off limits but she is nothing like all the other women he's been with and when he hires her to plan his next big party there attraction becomes too strong to stay away. And one night together will have consequences they never expected. And Val's past is going to let her go that easily, Definite page turner.

This book is so good and will definitely have you engrossed from the beginning until the end and sitting on the edge of your seat. Its brothers best friend taboo and so much more. Valentina is in LA and making a name for herself until her crazy abusive ex shows ,but can Sebastian keep her safe? Sebastian is business man and mafia boss who falls for his best friends sister but can he keep her safe? Absolutely enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down.
