Corrie Davis has never had a real date. She's been too busy trying to run her ranch single-handedly and thinks she knows more about money (as in not having any!) than men. But now the two sexy Merrick brothers -- the richest men in the county -- are vying for her attention! Corrie is in an enviable dilemma. Which gorgeous brother should she choose? Her oldest friend -- or the man who's always been out of reach: the older, dangerously attractive Nick Merrick?
Absorbing and powerful, Susan Fox is a compelling storyteller who explores the most heartfelt of emotions -- her stories will have you reaching for your hankie!
There is more than one author with this name. When entering books for this particular Susan Fox. The name needs to be entered with only one space between the first and last name.
Susan grew up with her sister, Janet, and her brother, Steven, on an acreage near Des Moines, Iowa, where, besides a jillion stray cats and dogs, two horses, and a pony, her favorite pet and confidant was Rex, her brown-and-white pinto gelding.
Susan has raised two sons, Jeffrey and Patrick, and currently lives in a house that she laughingly refers to as the Landfill and Book Repository. She writes with the help and hindrance of five mischievous shorthaired felines: Gabby, a talkative tortoiseshell calico; Buster, a solid lion-yellow with white legs and facial markings; his sister, Pixie, a tri-color calico; Toonses, a plump black-and-white; and the cheerily diabolical, naughty black tiger Eddie, aka Eduardo de Lover.
Susan is a bookaholic and movie fan who loves cowboys, rodeos, and the American West, past and present. She has an intense interest in storytelling of all kinds and in politics, and she claims the two are often interchangeable.
Susan loves writing complex characters in emotionally intense situations, and hopes her readers enjoy her ranch stories and are uplifted by their happy endings.
Wholesome story. Romance between neighbours. 2 wealthy brothers both find their neighbour attractive. The neighbour has been friends with one brother since childhood. He has just returned home from the bronco circuit. The elder brother has been in charge of his vast wealth and big homestead. The neighbour has been in love with him for years - although previously it was a sort of teenage adulation / calf love. It seems that she never recovered from this love. I find this difficult to deal with, although she apparently hasn't gone out much.

3,5 really. Much like the other 3 stars of Miss Fox's novels. Had huge potential but so underdeveloped. And so typical the none existence of angst and very low low conflict which means no good drama 😮💨
This book had a lot of potential, but it just fell flat. It was to much thinking and too little talking. The lovestory was good, but the writing ruined it for me.
The library book sell had all these taped up brown paper bags with the words written in black marker .50 cents for 12 romance books. I made a pact with myself that I would read all 12 books. Like a little girl I could not wait to get home and ripped open the bag to see what my destiny was and was not that surprised by all the great treasure of cheesiness I found. This was the first book I have read out of the 12, and I am really having to take a deep breath and say okay 11 more books like these. With that being said I have not read a Harlequin since 11th grade and only read a couple realizing very quickly they were lacking to say the least. It was a cute story but the ending was terrible and lacking any substance whatsoever. The main character was unbelievable (really 24 and never been kissed...really?). The brothers never really fought for her, and well it is what it is. I came in with low expectations, and this book did not disappoint on that end. The good news is I am one book closer to my reading goal for the year.
Premise: Are the two brothers interested in Corrie now that she's grown-up or are they just using her to get to each other? Despite being best friends with the younger brother, Corrie always had a crush on the older brother who warned her not fall in love with the younger brother as she wouldn't fit their family.
Fast forward: Younger brother now defends Corrie saying that their dad was wrong in thinking that Corrie was only a girl to fool around in the hayloft but not good enough to show off to friends and marry. Older brother admits his own mistake.
For a Susan Fox story, not up to par; love story between heroine and hero seems half-baked.
And as this does not Maya Banks' Colter brothers (ha!), romance is clean.
A cute, clean, quick read about two brothers who have fallen for the same girl. The Merrick brother's ranch boardered Corries's ranch, which she ran alone after her father died. Corrie grew up with, and attended school with, the younger brother, and the two of them were best friends, while she always had secret thoughts of loving the much older brother. Which will she end up with? That's the $64,000 question!
This is one of those books that is just sweet and honest. I am just sorry I did not get his brother Shane story here cause I really wanted him to end up with Corrie. The hero was an ass and a jerk. He made out like he was better then her and insulted her for being a hard working and loyal friend. I could not get behind him for the whole book until the end when I loved how much of a rush he was to marry her. It was a good book. Just a sweet western story. Loved it.
