This story describes a brief period between 1967 and 1969 in the lives of two Upstate New York small town boys who, at the ages of sixteen and seventeen, left home in search of adventure and the "land of Oz" known as California. The optimism and naivete that prevailed in those chaotic years in American youth were a double-edge sword that led to more than just peace, free love, and rock and roll. Elliott Irish and Travis Duke certainly found out.
