Pressing one wrong number and Ronin ended up calling high school teacher Imogen.🤳🏻 Now Ronin is grumpy, but for some reason, this guy is rude to her on the phone. How in the world did this girl find his voice attractive with his snarky attitude is anyone's guess.😄 I would have hung up and called it a day. Nobody has time for any of that.✋🏻 But that's me. Anyhoo. He thought he dialed Apple Falls' Bird Sanctuary. Well, not today, Ronin.🤪🤪 Not today.

Imogen loves animals, that's why she fosters many fur babies until they find their forever homes.🏩 Sometimes it's her home, which she shares with her bestie Donna.🤭 And Imogen couldn't get this guy or his voice out of her head. Soooo. She found this sanctuary and went ahead and....volunteered. Oh boy.🙊 Now why did she go and do that? And single Dad Ronin and his 7yr old daughter Amylee brought Willow in, an injured wild bird. It wasn't long before Imogen knew he's Mr Snark and he figured out the pretty lady is the one on the phone he called by mistake. He asked her out. Imogen should have said: heeeeck nooooo. Back upppp.🫵🏻🤨....🫸🏻😙 Make him work for the date Imogen... butttttt. She didn't.(⁠⌐⁠■⁠-⁠■⁠) ಠಿ⁠_⁠ಠ To each their own.🤷‍♀️

I wished there had been some or more fur babies making an appearance and getting involved in this story. I think that would have been fun. I guess Willow sort of did. It's a short fast moving read. Amylee is cute. Imogen is nice. Ronin, did mellow out, he's a girl Dad, which is why he should have had manners in the first place.😝 There's mild spice and a HEA. Shout-out to Bongo😺, Willow🐦, and the unnamed dogs, cats, hamsters, and even a guinea pig.🐕🐩🐈🐈‍⬛🐹🐹🐭 Happy reading. *•>§<•*🩵🩵🩵

Grumpy or stressed?

Ronin comes across as grumpy, bordering on rude, but even as he growls at her Imogen feels the sparks of attraction. That attraction only grows when she sees him with Amylee and she realises that under the grump is a giant teddy bear. The care shown for "Willow" is very sweet and heartwarming, as is the way they help Amylee understand that Willow needs to be free, not caged.
Overall this is a very sweet book, it has a little steam but far more sweetness. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Wrong Number, Right Grumpy Single Dad is the sweetest spicy insta love novella perfect for the hot summer days. Imogen and Ronin and his daughter Amylee were so good together. And everything started with dialing the wrong number and injured bird. And this rude grump changed his ways just to see Imogen smiling. You can expect all the Lyssa J Cole things from this story - the instant attraction, steaming hot chemistry and guaranteed happy ending. And with that epilogue the story made a full circle.

4.5 ⭐s Mr. Grumpy may not be so grumpy after all.

Imogen teaches at the local high school and also volunteers at several different rescue groups in the area. She's fostered many animals and was considered to be a foster failure after adopting two dogs and two cats she had been fostering. Currently she's considering adopting a third cat. Besides her pets, she is currently fostering a cat, two hamsters, and a guinea pig. Her cabin is filled with furry critters, and she loves them all.

Ronin's seven-year-old daughter, Amylee, found a bird with an injured leg. She's even given it the name of Willow. Although he thought he could fix its leg, she insisted that Willow needed to be seen by a doctor. He was able to find a listing for a bird rescue sanctuary, but when he dialed their number, he got a wrong number. The woman who answered the phone knew nothing about the sanctuary, but she was able to quickly look up the number and give him the correct number. She even followed with a text later asking about the bird. His reply was about as rude as his phone call had been. But his deep, growly, somewhat irritated voice had gotten to her. After they hung up, she decided to check out the bird sanctuary and perhaps do some volunteer work there, too.

Amylee had been the result of his first and last one-night stand. He and Joelle had tried co-parenting without ever living together. But then Joelle's drug habit returned, and she was unable to care for Amylee. He was awarded full custody of her. Last he heard, she was still alive but homeless and living on the streets.

After all of the trouble with Joelle, he decided it was time to leave the big city. He, Amylee, and his parents moved to the small town of Apple Falls. They bought homes next door to each other and settled into their new small town life.

He works in computer graphics, so he can work from home. Amylee's care is divided between him and them. He's never thought too much about finding a wife after his experience with Joelle. Personally, he doesn't feel that he could ever find a woman good enough to meet his standards and especially not good enough for Amylee. Besides, he doesn't have time for love. He knows that's made him grumpy to almost everyone, but never to Amylee. She's everything to him; always has been and always will be.

She has convinced him to take her to visit "her" bird at the sanctuary after he learned it was recovering nicely. Now his problem is that she wants to adopt it. His argument that this bird wouldn't be happy in a cage isn't changing her desire to adopt it. He hopes the people there will be able to change her mind.

Meanwhile, he's fallen in love with Imogen, and she's also in love with him, but will Amylee be OK with it?

Wrong Number, Right Grumpy Single Dad by Lyssa J. Cole is one of those quick romances that manages to be adorable, funny, heartwarming, and spicy all at once. Who knew an injured bird and one wrong phone number could be responsible for bringing together a little girl, her very grumpy dad, and the woman who fits into their lives perfectly?

Ronin is out walking with his daughter, Amylee, when they discover an injured bird. Trying to contact a bird rescue, he accidentally calls Imogen instead. He's gruff, impatient, and bordering on rude during their conversation, but rather than being completely put off by him, Imogen finds herself intrigued. Even better, the encounter inspires this lifelong animal lover to finally volunteer at the rescue.

Then Ronin and Amylee show up to check on the little bird they've named Willow, and Imogen decides there are some coincidences that are simply too good to ignore.

I absolutely loved seeing Imogen discover the man hiding underneath Ronin's grumpy exterior. Watching him with Amylee changes everything because this intimidating mountain man is really a giant teddy bear when it comes to his daughter. Their relationship was incredibly sweet, and adding Imogen into their little family created some of my favorite moments.

The storyline with Willow was another wonderful touch. Ronin and Imogen helping Amylee understand that loving the bird doesn't mean keeping her caged was surprisingly touching. Sometimes loving something means giving it the freedom it needs, and I loved how that message became part of this otherwise fun and steamy romance.

Of course, Ronin doesn't stay quite so grumpy around Imogen for long. This man discovers that he likes seeing her smile, and suddenly changing his ways doesn't seem nearly as difficult. Their instant attraction quickly becomes impossible to ignore, and the chemistry between them brings plenty of heat to all that sweetness.

Imogen, Ronin, and Amylee just worked together. It felt less like Imogen was simply falling for Ronin and more like three people were unexpectedly finding the family they were meant to have. And that epilogue! Bringing Willow back into the story made everything come beautifully full circle.

Wrong Number, Right Grumpy Single Dad is a sweet and spicy little escape filled with grumpy/sunshine chemistry, an adorable father-daughter relationship, animals, instalove, small-town charm, and a wonderfully satisfying HEA. Sometimes dialing the wrong number doesn't lead to a mistake at all—it leads you exactly where you were supposed to be.

Imogen answers a misdial expecting a quick correction. Instead, she gets Ronin, a blunt, growly single dad trying to help an injured bird his daughter refuses to stop worrying about. He gets under her skin instantly, and she can't stop thinking about the voice on the other end.

When Imogen starts volunteering at the local bird rescue, their paths cross again. This time, she sees the devoted father beneath Ronin's rough edges and realizes his guarded exterior hides a much softer man. The attraction is immediate, but so is the pull to know what's underneath all that grump.

A wrong number changed Imogen and Ronin’s lives. He was looking for a bird rescue, but rang Imogen’s number by mistake. Both noted the sexy voice on the other end of the phone call, but Ronin’s grumpy rudeness didn’t leave the best impression. So much so, that she doesn’t acknowledge her part in the phone call when she meets him and his daughter a few days later. Imogen observes father and daughter over the coming days as they visit the injured bird they brought to the rescue facility. She sees that Ronin is not at all grumpy with his daughter. He is kind, patient understanding and very loving with her.

Both are ready to start anew, to find their “One”after so much disappointment. Ronin is stuck not only by Imogen’s beauty, but also her kindness and easy rapport with his daughter. So much so, he asks her on a date…. a date that leads them on a path to happily ever after. One wrong number led to the right love match. This sweet and spicy, grumpy sunshine romance has my recommendation.

Lyssa J. Cole’s Wrong Number, Right Grumpy Single Dad is a wholesome romance. And yes, I’m using the word wholesome even though the MMC and FMC sometimes acted like horny high schoolers. 😂 There is some steam, but overall this is much more of a sweet, feel-good story, complete with an adorable daughter and some animals.

The wrong-number setup was fun, and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. This is a very short story, coming in at under 40 pages, so it’s not an involved or complicated story. Instead, it’s a cute, quick instalove romance with plenty of sweetness.

If you’re looking for a short, easy read with a grumpy single dad, instalove, a little steam, and lots of cute moments, this one is definitely worth picking up.

Wrong Number, Right Grumpy Single Dad is part of the Wrong Number, Right Grump series. This was a sweet spicy quick read. Imogen is a teacher, loves animals, volunteers for different animal shelters and she fosters animals and has a houseful of animals as well. Thankfully, her roommate doesn’t mind. She received a phone call from someone wanting the Apple Falls Bird Rescue Society, she is not them. The person was less than nice on the phone and very growly. She looked it up and let him know that the number was one off from hers. The storyline is quite a sweet spicy story that was a joy to read. The characters are written with depth and realness that makes it all sweeter. Grab this five-star read and enjoy this and the rest of the multi-author series.

This is a cute story that any animal-lover will enjoy. Ronin and his young daughter Amylee are out for as walk together and discover an injured bird. Ronin decides to contact the Apple Falls Bird Rescue Society but accidentally calls Imogen's number by mistake. He's sort of brusque and impatient with her as they talked, but the situation prompted animal-lover Imogen to get involved as a volunteer with helping animals at a rescue center. As fate would have it, when Ronin and Amylee decide to check up on the bird they have already named "Willow", they meet Imogen. Is this the start of a new friendship... or maybe more? And will Willow ever make a special visit to the family who saved her that day?

Amazing. Isobel loves all animals and volunteers at multiple shelters. One night she gets a call from a grumpy man looking for the Bird Sanctuary. When he talks his voice drops and does something to her. Knowing where he’ll end up with his daughter she decides to volunteer at the Sanctuary. Ronin takes his daughter back to visit the bird they rescued and took there. The volunteer that takes them back to see her? He knows that voice but, she’s denies it was her. How can the voice of two different women make him feel like this? One thing is for sure, he wants to get to know Isobel.

Super quick spicy romance.

Ronin and his daughter Amylee find an injured bird, Willow. When trying to contact the bird rescue he dials a nine at the end instead of a seven. He gets Imogen, who loves all animals, and they eventually meet at the Apple Falls Bird Rescue.

This story is a great concept, although a bit rough, and could have been better with some editing. Saw a few inconsistencies, but at under 40 pages I kept reading and didn't let it bother me. Good addition to the Wrong Number, Right grump series, but I don’t see myself reading this one more than once.

As expected Lyssa J. Cole didn’t disappoint with this grumpy sunshine romance about Imogen and Ronin’s journey from their first interaction, all the way to finally acknowledging their connection. The intense connection was instant, but Imogen and Ronin took some time before they changed the status of their relationship, so they could build a future together. If you are looking for a heartwarming novella to keep you entertained, then look no further than this book and you won’t regret your decision.

Cute, very quick read. The FMC is an animal lover and works with rescues. She gets a wrong number call about a bird rescue. It’s from the MMC, a grumpy single dad. He’s very rude on the call and when she texts to check on the bird. They end up meeting at the bird rescue. She recognizes his voice but lies when he asks if it was her he accidentally called. She comes clean after he and his daughter visit the bird that they brought in numerous times. he asks her out and that starts their journey. It’s spicy with a sweet HEA.

I love this multi author series. Ronin calls a bird rescue because he and his daughter found an injured bird. He gets wrong number to Imogene instead. He's very rude to her and she thinks he's just a grump with a sexy voice. When they meet at the bird rescue though he wonders if she could see him as something other than a grump because she makes him feel more that he's felt in years. Quick read, fast paced, sweet with some steam and great characters. Really fun read.

Imogen, a high school teacher and animal lover receives a call requesting to speak to the bird rescue. It is the wrong number, and the grumpy man hangs up, though Imogen is intrigued. Ronin is a single dad to Amylee, a sweet 7 year old who found a bird, called Willow who needed care at the bird rescue. Imogen has started at the bird rescue as well when she finally meets Ronin and his daughter for the first time. Sparks fly, as Imogen and Ronin develop deep feelings and have a spicy connection. Super cute instalove story with a sweet epilogue.

This short story is dual POV, well written, and a fast-paced, funny, sweet and steamy, opposites attract, contemporary romantic comedy between Imogen, the cheerful teacher/animal foster carer lead, and Ronin, the grumpy online graphic designer/single dad lead. I chuckled at the interactions. I enjoyed Imogen’s empathy and compassion for the world around her. I enjoyed Ronin’s care for his daughter. I enjoyed the relationship development and the steamy intimate moments, as well as the happy ending.

This book is the epitome of a wrong goes beautifully right trope. The deep;y grumpy single dad firefighter doesn’t sysndva chance after meeting the gorgeously curvy animal loving Imogen that all starts with him accidentally calling her number. Likewise when she sees Ronin she is captivated too. But the true sunshine in this novella is Amylee, his 6 yr old daughter who shines so brightly everything else’s suffers by comparison. Overall it’s just a lovely read.

Love these short insta love stories. Ronin is a single dad When his daughter found an injured bird, he called the bird rescue. One wrong digit and he dialed a woman whose voice he couldn’t forget. Imogen is an animal lover. Fostering and sometimes adopting rescues. When the man who dialed the wrong number is abruptly rude to her, she is angry. When she volunteers at the bird sanctuary, Ronin and his daughter come in to see the injured bird. She realizes the grumpy dad isn’t grumpy at all.

Ronin has an injured bird so he call the bird rescue. Except, he misdialed and called a different rescue where Imogen works. He is annoyed and grumpy with her and she ends the call.

Imogen thought he sounded sexy but he was not very nice. She decides to go volunteer at the bird rescue to see if he comes in. When he does, sparks fly.

I am enjoying this series of books with people who text or call the wrong number. This book is a great addition. Imogen can't get the sexy voiced grumpy man who called her. And she takes steps to ensure their meeting. Ronan calls the wrong number because of his daughter. So when Ronan and Imogen meet, there is a strong attraction between them. This is a sweet story with plenty of spice. Low drama and high heat. Excellent short book.

A bird brings them together...
This was a quick fast paced read... A sweet and sexy story... I really enjoy single dad books, so I wanted to read this one. Overall I really liked the characters and their tale... Ronin is Mr. Rude and Grumpy on the phone, but changes his tune after meeting Imogen in person. A really cute story!.
