I'm not entirely sure how to rate the psalms, since it's literally the inspired word of God. But I will say that this is my favorite translation, and I would 10/10 recommend it to anyone who wants to read the psalms all the way through.

5 stars, I guess? :)

Translation from the Hebrew, arranged for singing to the psalmody of Joseph Gelineau, of 150 psalms of Israel...i like the arrangement of the individual psalms as stanza's with accent marks above the words for each line...there is a series of tone progressions in the back of the book that accompany particular psalms (in my version, the print is very small and it is difficult to make out the exact notes)...i was disappointed by the scant amount of information about how these tones translate into chanting, and playing a musical instrument, for a particular psalm...i would have liked to see additional charts that show guitar chords for accompanying the psalms.
