Kieran and Greer's Story

This is an entertaining book about a 47 year old hockey legend who is a NHL head coach and the 26 year old team physical therapist who happens to also be his daughter's BFF.
Kiernan Larsen meets Greer Callahan when she literally falls into his hotel room after a charity gala. A ONS results in a pregnancy and she discovers the guy that she slept with only knowing his first name is the head coach of the team she was just hired to work for plus her friend's father.
At one point, Greer mentions that she has watched Kiernan perform at the press podium for 10 years. Also that she had studied his hip surgery in college. So why doesn't she know who he is when she stumbles into his room? He told her that he was at the charity gala, talking to donors about hockey. This basic flaw took luster off the book for me.

ARC review....

Can you really go wrong with a spicy hockey romance? Nope.
Greer and Kieran have a random hook up. Once and done. Sure, until Greer finds out Kieran is the head coach for the hockey team she is the physical therapist for. Yikes! How are they going to navigate the awkwardness? It's OK though... oh wait. Kieran is also her best friend's dad. So, not OK.
And to top it off, Greer is pregnant.... and guess who the father is? Yep! Will they get their happily ever after or will Greer lose her job, best friend and baby-daddy all at once?

The story line is good, but a little slow. Kept my attention though. It's a quick read.
There are a few glitches though. For example, Greer & Kieran have their hook up & 3 weeks later, she starts her job. She's pregnant with his baby, but is 5.5 weeks along. Ummm....
That's the biggest one. There are a few more, but minor enough that they can be ignored.

Overall, I liked the story and would recommend reading.

I wanted to like this story, but the writing style feels awful. It reads like a play lacking stage directions (or in a book, speaking tags and indicators of HOW they said it).

“Hi.”
“Hi.”
“I have nine minutes.”
“Okay.”

And this is the WHOLE BOOK.


Don’t get me wrong, I liked the meet cute (should be called meet sexy in these stories) and then discovering they work together, ok!! A person in the medical field accidentally turning up pregnant is annoying, but I could not get past how the author writes.

I also do like an age gap where the FMC is grown and not an 18-year old virgin. I DNF’d at 45%.

A delightful sports novel, we follow Greer and Kieran. They had a steamy affair a while ago; the intention was to be a one-off and then never see each other again. Imagine their surprise when they discovered that Kieran is the head coach of the hockey team where she works as a physiotherapist. Will they keep it professional? And what happens when she finds out she is pregnant with his child—and not only that, Kieran is the father of her best friend—oh dear, how will this end?

Okay Kieran. Aside from being the hockey coach, you were clearly on the Sean m swim team at some point in time. A one night stand and she pregnant…your swimmers were clearly in a race lol. I absolutely loved Kieran and Greer. This was such a great story from the start. A hot night with an older guy. You get pregnant and to make matters worse he’s the coach on the team you’re the physical therapist for 🤦🏽‍♀️ this was some serious Devine intervention lol. These two were so made to be together though. I had the best time with this.

Loved the romance

Just loved the whole of the book. Leighton Grace has a different way of writing romance books. Lots of double spacing of paragraphs, and lots of very short sentences, plus most of the speech is short. MMC is a silver fox, my favourite type of romance genre, someone I would not mind meeting and more! MFC is a physical therapist for an ice hockey team, MMC turns out to be the coach. A wrong floor from the elevator and a room door not latched makes for a meeting that changes everything.

I'm so sad. Having only just discovered this author I e read 3 of her books straight. I loved them. They made me laugh and cry. Having said all this I had high hopes for this book and it's just rubbish!! Nothing happens the whole book could have been done in a prologue, well at least the first 300 pages. Where was the emotion? I was more interested in Mikko!!! Kee could have been the best book husband. He was so caring and considerate but the character development just wasn't there. I had several other books lined up but I'm taking a break coz I'm so gutted.

Leighton ALWAYS writes great 5-star romance stories, and this book right here just proves what I am saying is absolutely correct in every way possible. Be ready to fall head over heels in love with Greer and Kieran. I know I sure did.

Intéressant, la relation entre les deux personnages principaux qui évoluent. Une bonne lecture sans prise de tête, cependant j’ai été un peu prise au dépourvu par l'écriture, le manque d'émotions entre les deux. Je ne sais pas si c'était une manière d'écrire ou fait exprès, mais ca manquait de sentiment, presque la relation et l'écriture de celle-ci était mécanique, sans émotions (j’ai lu un autre livre ensuite de l’auteur et je n’ai pas retrouvé ça).

Really awful! The story had so much potential! But was a terrible following through. The communication was very robotic sounding. One word answers/ comments. They totally forgot any baby doc apts. it goes from I have to make an appointment to the delivery. That’s it. No baby scans, nothing. This book feels very AI and extremely bad.

A beautiful story

The love story for Kieran & Greer is beautiful, dramatic, compelling, and satisfying. They are engaging characters and their love story is compelling. I pick my books based on author, my second qualifier is title. True confession, I would never have picked this one based on title. There is so much more to this story than what the title says. I'm so happy that I read it in spite of the title because it's a great story.
