It all started in first grade when Cat Johnson won the essay contest at Hawthorne Elementary School and got to ride in the Chief of Police's car in the Memorial Day Parade...and the rest, as they say, is history.
As an adult, Cat generally tries to stay out of police cars and is thrilled to be writing for a living. She has been published under a different name in the Young Adult genre, but released her first romance in 2006.
Today, she is a NY Times & USA Today best-selling, award-winning author of contemporary romance.

Cadaver Lab: Mind over Murder
Wow! Totally love this small town crew. Natalie is thrown for a loop when Liam's new project seems to be a killer. Poor Harper seemed to be the one the killer ghost wanted to frame. Love that Harper and Stone finally set a wedding date and venue. Totally loved that Liam finally proposed. You have to feel for Natalie too since she lost her ability to see and hear ghosts for a time. I certainly hope we get to see both of these weddings in Mudville. FANTASTIC job Cat! I would recommend this book! I hope to see this Mudville crew again soon.

How do you deal with an evil ghost who is trying to murder people?
Liam gets a new brain in his lab and immediately Natalie can feel something is wrong. Then after Harper is in a heated discussion with Doug, he dies. Then other people start dying of supposed "cardiac events". Then when Natalie is attacked by this evil force and hospitalized, the need to find a way to stop it. But she also realizes that she can see any of the ghosts and can only hear Gabe and Millie when they are together and touching. Will the be able to come up with a solution to get rid of the brain and make sure it doesn't hurt anyone else? All she ever get her ability to see all the ghosts and hear them all again?

Dastardly brains
I just love my ghost friends from Mudville, and seeing what they've been up to lately, and it seems Liam's got a new specimen to occupy him, and Harper, well you need to read this story for yourself, LOL, and Natalie has her hands full with her Ghost's trying to figure out WTH is going on in their little town, strange things are happening to the good people of Mudville,, freaky accidents, death, another stellar example of the mindset of a brilliant devious author mind, and Cat Johnson you didn't disappoint with this one, thank you, Dana Zamora

July 8, 2026I wasn't sure I'd write another Cadaver Lab, but when an idea comes knocking, who am I to not answer the door! So here we are, ghost Gabe, reluctant spirit conduit small town book shop owner Natalie and her grumpy doctor boyfriend Liam are back with more murder, mayhem and Mudville!

Evil Ghostly Brain!
Oh my gosh, another fantastically fun ghost story in Mudville! Liam has received a new & disturbed brain in his lab. Little do they know, this spirit is very different from any other ghost in town. He can hid from the living & dead alike & somehow, he is scaring the life out of the residents of Mudville. Finding the opportunity to pass blame onto Harper for all the attacks. This town comes together like nothing I’ve ever seen before, even though many are angry with Harper for writing them into her books, in not a great light!
Take a chance on this story, it will have you laughing out loud, questioning your paranormal beliefs & cheering on the whole town. Now, I wonder, will we have yet another Cadaver Lab story in the future? Only time & Cat Johnson will tell! Enjoy!

Once again Natalie has a spirit who is causing havoc. Harper argues with Douglas, and the next day they learn he has died of a heart attack. Then Mary Trout runs off the road , then days later ends up in the hospital with what looks like a heart attack. They start thinking about it and realize everything started happening after Liam got his new brain. Can they stop the spirit from hurting more people? Can they find a solution that won’t cause someone else to deal with it? Come on in and find out.
