This is such a good story! Sadness, heartbreak, betrayal and love.
I really loved this book and Sonee Singh’s way of bringing these characters alive in my minds eye.
It’s well written, easy to get lost in and ultimately full of so much beauty.

I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you Sonee Singh and RABT Books Tours and PR. I'm excited to be a part of this tour.

What a perfect combination of education and intrigue. This book is intelligently written and deeply moving. I love the author’s ability to explore such a personally deep topic (soulmates) using humor and reflection to keep things light.

The writing style flows easily, kept me engaged while wanting to know more. I had a lot of trouble putting this book down and read late into the night. I believe in soulmates and felt like I was on this journey with Anji. while reading this book. The exploration of her dreams was fascinating, and I didn’t want the book to end.

Last, I learn a lot about Indian culture and cuisine. When we go out, I often choose our favorite Indian restaurant and want to learn how to make a few of these dishes. Having dated a chef for nearly 8 years, I understand food cooked from the soul and full of love. It really does taste better!

I highly recommend this book to those interested in learning how to live more peacefully and purposefully. The many messages of love and respect resonated deeply with me. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Lonely Dove is a unique story. It’s very different than my usual read. The author has a delicate, soulful writing style that caught me a little off guard. I enjoyed getting to know Anji and her culture and beliefs, though they are different than mine. I connected with her on different levels and enjoyed walking beside her on her journey to find her “twin flame” or soulmate.

This story has a similar feel to Eat, Pray, Love, as Anji takes an unhurried but deliberate journey through past relationships and arrives at a place of self-discovery. It’s a relatively quick read, but at offers a reflective approach and leisure pacing. It is an emotive story with an almost mystical feel to it that comes to a rewarding ending.

First Line: Anji showed up at the Gray Dog in Union Square fifteen minutes early and loitered outside.

This was a really unique story and I liked that there was some familiarity when it comes to the characters as someone whose family is also from India. I always enjoy reading about other people or in this case characters who are from India as their culture and beliefs may be different from mine and that intrigues me.

This book was a story of self-discovery by taking a retrospective look at the characters' life. I loved the journey Anji went on to find her soulmate. The writing was poetic and Singh’s descriptions were beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Being a true believer in soulmates and twin flames, Lonely Dove captured my heart from the opening pages. I enjoyed every stage of this debut novel by Sonee Singh, as I walked beside the self-doubting, loveable protagonist Anji, as she bravely stepped forward and embraced her journey of self-discovery and self-worth in her quest to find her soulmate.
Lonely Dove is not just a novel of the search for ‘Happy Ever After’, but is filled with empowering messages, relatable, quirky characters, and thought-provoking insight for the reader to consider the importance of self-love and self-acceptance, above any other love.
Lonely Dove is enriched in cultural diversity, and Singh masterfully guided me on a cultural celebration where spices drifted from the pages with her artful descriptions of Indian and Colombian cuisines that had my mouth watering. Peace and purpose were two words that came to me often as I read this novel.

Great book!

This is the 3rd out of 4 books I’ve read from Sonee Singh.

Her mention of so many Colombian dishes just made my mouth watering! I also got very intrigued about many Indian dishes, and now I feel like I now need to try many of them. She talks about many Colombian traditions when it comes to family, dating, and school environment.

Anji has a best friend that wants the best for her. Sophie does not mind telling Anji what she needs to be told.
Anji goes through some abusive relationships in her life ignoring -like many do- the red flags. Anji’s search for a soulmate with help of Margarita leads her into discovering she has many “Claire” abilities: ClairVoyance, ClairAudience, ClairSentience, and ClairCognizance.

Through her journey Anji learns she only has a responsibility to herself! Not her parents (marry by certain age, to someone from same culture, etc). Anji was able to let go of the guilt of not being who others wanted the to be.

A big reminder to honor ourselves as we are.

A quote I loved was: “Karma was also about doing good, and was ultimately a matter of balance”.

What a beautiful journey this book was; I flew through it. Anji’s path to her soulmate or “alma gemela” was an unconventional one. Yet, that journey was one of discovery that felt genuinely rooted in the deepest meaning of a soulmate.

Lucid dreaming has always been so intriguing to me. As someone with consistently vivid dreams and a hungry mind, I immediately understood the obsession with trying to figure out what her visions mean.

This book was both light (in style) and deep (in subject matter) if that makes sense. It kept the reader wanting just a little bit more, pulling us along. It was educational and intriguing - a great combo!

I really enjoyed this book. Anji is a wonderful protagonist - she is complex and layered and I loved going on this journey with her as she searches for her soulmate. I also really enjoyed the jumps back in time to explore important events in Anji's past and how they have affected her life and choices. This novel is well-paced and very well-written and the characters felt so real.

The Lonely Dove is not a usual romance novel. The book has a deeper meaning.
As the protagonist reflects through the past and present events in search of love, she is able to connect to her soul.
The characters in the book are relatable, each character reminded me of someone I have known or heard of.
Loved every aspect of the book

Lonely Dove carries a beautiful energy through every page and had me captivated from the first chapter. I found the themes and storyline very relatable and it evoked strong emotions as I read. It is a universal story that explores complexity in relationships and the importance of trusting our intuition. It is also about universal timing and spiritual growth. Sonee’s writing is powerfully descriptive and shows deep spiritual understanding and cultural awareness. This novel effectively communicates the burden of expectations as well as the heartache of breaking traditions. Lonely Dove is a timeless love story that has depth and meaning. There are also a few surprises to keep the reader intrigued. This book needs to be on your ‘must read’ list.

I really enjoyed this read, it was not only beautiful but it was incredibly powerful. The writing is incredible and right from the start this book gripped me and didn't let me go. It was absolutely enchanting, I was completely captivated by it and I didn't want it to end.
It was full of cultural references which I love in novels especially with cultures that I don't know as much about as I would like such as Indian and Columbian cultures.
This is such a poignant and empowering read and definitely a contender for best book I have read this year.

What a beautiful and empowering story. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I was impressed by how quickly I was sucked into the story and grew to love the main character. I loved how she intertwined different cultural elements to the story. The writing was delicate and lyrical. The story was not just about love but also about self-discovery, which is my favorite type of romantic journey. I appreciate Love Book Tours and the author for sending me a finished copy in exchange for my honest opinion. I look forward to reading more from this author!

This is not your usual romance story but a beautifully described journey of both self discovery and the deepest meaning of soulmate or ‘twin flame’. The attention to detail and description of different cultures was very evocative and drew me into the story. The ending was a little repetitive and overdone in my opinion and I feel less would be more, but a surprising and engrossing read.
