𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐒𝐄 I was his therapist. Now I’m his husband and I’m documenting my own descent into darkness through secret journals that blur clinical observation with obsessive love letters. I understand Noah’s psychopathy with clinical precision, like the absence of empathy and calculated manipulation. But understanding him and belonging to him are entirely different things. As we travel the world, I’ve stopped observing him from a distance. Instead, I’m drowning in his possession, and I’m reveling in every moment. I know what he does to keep me in his hold. Others would run, but I’m falling deeper, observing him with sensual fascination.
𝐍𝐎𝐀𝐇 Chase is mine. Completely. Anyone who threatens that exclusive claim simply ceases to exist. I don’t feel love the way others do, but I do feel ownership. My life is all about keeping him, controlling him, marking him as mine in whatever way I can. Once he was my therapist, but now he’s my possession. I know he watches me more intensely since we started travelling, his curiosity of what he has ignored so far, the real me. But when we return to New York to help the Kozlov family, it opens a bigger world for us. Darkness becomes his new light.
**You have to read Craving The Chase before this book, as this is the sequel
The first 30% or so I struggled with. . . It honestly just felt like murder porn. And Noah felt waaaaay more controlling and manipulative than before. Not in a sexy, dark romance way either. But like in a, should we help Chase escape way.
But once they get back with the Kozlovs and the Blackrose Saints motorcycle gang, things sort of picked up for me a bit. Overall though, nothing in this story gripped me.
I’m probably the outlier, but I don’t feel like this was necessary to bridge them to the new Blackrose Saints series. I’m still excited for Marcus’ story, and seeing how this world expands but this one just didn’t add anything for me. And Noah was starting to bother me a lot in this. Either I don’t remember how bad he was in their original story, or he became waaaay more intense in this one.

I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Noah is intense, he’s a psychopath and solely focused on Chase. He’s possessive as fuck, and kills the ones who touch or watch Chase. Noah is ten red flags in a row. Chase loves everything Noah gives and demands him to take. Knowing how vicious and murderous Noah is to protect and keep him, Chase is now too on the dark side. He can’t deny it anymore.
Business changes after Noah gets involved with the Kozlovs and the Blackrose Saints.
“Apart from my husband’s ass, blood is my second addiction, it really gets me going,"
It was so great to follow these men again. Yeah, it’s an unhealthy relationship but it works the way it goes. Imagine having a husband who wants to know where you are at all times for your safety, a husband who wants to feel you in his presence 24/7. And imagine being the one who craves the same. Match made in heaven (or maybe hell) Noah’s psychopathic personality is consistent and well crafted. The author did a great job! You could almost love him (don’t tell, or you’ll die)
Thank you to the author for the advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
After the Chase was a satisfying follow-up that kept me hooked from beginning to end. Syn Blackrose once again delivers a dark, obsessive romance packed with tension, emotional intensity, and plenty of steam. If you loved the twisted dynamic in the first book, you’ll be happy to dive back into this world.
The chemistry between the characters is undeniable, and I appreciated seeing their relationship continue to evolve while still staying true to the chaotic, morally gray energy that made them so compelling. The emotional moments landed well, and the spice definitely did not disappoint.
If you’re a fan of dark M/M romance with obsessive love, high heat, and characters who are unapologetically unhinged, this is absolutely worth picking up. Be sure to check the content warnings before diving in!
This book is really the descent of Chase in Noah’s world. As time passes, Chase is losing himself more and more, doing whatever Noah wants, letting him take full control. As a therapist, Chase is aware of what Noah is doing but he cannot prevent it, the deeper he goes, the more he accepts the person he’s becoming. Noah got what he wanted, Chase is his and only his, no one can say the opposite or even interact with others.
This story goes really deep into their relationship, seeing Chase understand all and still letting himself go is interesting, there is this psychological dimension that makes it intense.
Loved all the cameos and I’m really excited for the new series to come !!
I received an ARC Copy of this book, this review is from my own thoughts 😍

Being back with Noah and Chase was such a fun ride!
I loved how unhinged and unapologetic Noah was. And I loved even more how my baby, Chase, fully accepted him.
Noah is a full-on psychopath, and even though Chase tries to ignore some things in the beginning, he truly loves Noah for who he is. Chase never once tries to change him or make excuses for who Noah is.
Honestly, Chase might be even “crazier” than Noah, because whoo…that man (Noah) is a walking, talking red flag. He’s obsession with Chase is absolute, and he’ll do anything to keep him his and safe from whoever he perceives as a threat to their relationship.
As for the plot, it was interesting to see Noah being drawn back into the world of the Kozlov Brothers. There’s danger, violence, and blood, and we get to see more of the Blackrose Saints and their world (can’t wait for that series tbh).
If you love dark, fast-paced romance that keeps you coming back for more and with a healthy and delicious amount of spice, then this (and all the other books in this interconnected world) is for you!
P.S. I loved, loved, loved all the appearances of characters from the other books and their intentions with our MCs. My babies🥺
P.S.2 Birthday cake (iykyk)
✨Thank you to the author and her team for this ARC✨
This story was an incredible part 2 that kept me hooked from beginning to end. Syn Blackrose once again delivers a dark, obsessive romance packed with tension, emotional intensity, and plenty of steam. If you loved the twisted dynamic in the first book, you’ll be happy to dive back into this world. It was so great to follow these men again. Yeah, it’s an unhealthy relationship but it works the way it goes. Imagine having a husband who wants to know where you are at all times for your safety, a husband who wants to feel you in his presence 24/7.
You literally watch Chase's autonomy get stripped away piece by piece by Noah, and the wildest part is that Chase knows it's happening. He recognises that it's wrong, he sees exactly what Noah is doing to him, and yet he can't bring himself to actually fight it because, on some level, he loves it. Their relationship is so deeply dysfunctional and toxic, but it somehow works for them, which makes it even more fascinating to read.
And Noah yeah, he's a psychopath. What I particularly loved is that he isn't the romanticised version of a psychopath that we so often get in dark romance. He's unapologetically controlling, manipulative, possessive, and genuinely alarming. There is no tragic backstory conveniently explaining why he became this way, no attempt to excuse his behaviour. He kills because he enjoys it, he's impulsive, he likes having control, and that's just who he is.
I really loved all the appearances of all the characters from the other books and their intentions with Chase and Noah.
God I just love this world she has created I love all the characters and these stories and I was so happy to have more of Chase and Noah!!! I was cackling my way through between Noah and lev and Noah and Ivan I was just eating it up nothing but a good time!!! And getting to see more of Noah and Chase relationship evolve in this book love love love!! He may not be a therapist anymore but still wants to learn everything about Noah until there isn’t anything he doesn’t know he accepts Noah how he is while also loving everything about him. while he’s learning more and figuring out Noah he’s always noticing the changes in himself as this journey goes on while questioning things about himself that a normal person would run the other way he just continues in the direction he’s going because of his love for Noah and he wouldn’t have it any other way!! I love these 2 and can’t wait to see what Syn has in store for us with the new series!!!
Chase went full on to the dark side, with eyes wide open! I loved that for him. He k ew exactly what was happening and he sure did enjoy the ride 🤭
Noah will forever be my favorite psycho. I loved that even though he agreed to do business with the Koslovs and the MC he was still his grumpy anti social self and he never became part of them. He maintained his autonomy and he was true to himself. He will only ever need Chase and the kills....
Loved the MC people and I can't wait for that series!! Hope Ethan would still be a big part of them, loved seeing him and Leo. This book was the perfect way to introduce them bc Im so ready for Marcus, I wanna know everything about him.
This book!!! I love Syn Blackrose, everything she writes is amazing. I’m so in love with Noah. So much so that I’m jealous of Chase, but he knows how lucky he is. Their travels were fun to read, and their journey, especially Chase’s, was an unreal trip that I was here for! A the stream is hot, I mean get out the fan! This is just everything. Loved!
What was the point of this? Craving the Chase was great. The story was complete, why on earth did we need this? To introduce more characters to the world? I don’t get it. This did nothing to further the relationship between Chase and Noah other than they added some new business ventures and gained some partners in crime. I’m sorry, but this was unnecessary.
I am OBSESSED with this book to the point that I had to reread the first one just to dive into this one. Noah and Chase—what can I even say about their relationship? Possession, obsession, lust, passion... they have it all. I know what Noah is doing to Chase is not healthy at all, and there are definitely some major red flags because he doesn't always treat Chase like his own person who can make his own decisions. Everything has to be discussed first, and Chase basically has to ask for permission, which is obviously not healthy. But this is fiction, and I love a good red flag, so bring on the dark!
Honestly, this book was so spicy, and I loved reading about them. I was also really happy that we got an epilogue that gave us a little glimpse into how their relationship transitioned into marriage. I’m happy that they got their happy ending and were able to build something of their own together. They are both happy with the way their relationship is, and most importantly, Chase feels loved by Noah.
i've been waiting for this sequel since the day it was announced and i have to say, it did NOT disappoint. noah and chase's relationship is genuinely one of the most psychologically fascinating things i've read. i've never seen co-dependency, isolation, and controlling behaviour turned up to THIS level, and somehow i was completely fascinated by it.
we literally watch chase's autonomy get stripped away piece by piece by noah, and the wildest part is that chase knows it's happening. he recognises that it's wrong, he sees exactly what noah is doing to him, and yet he can't bring himself to actually fight it because, on some level, he fucking loves it. their relationship is so deeply dysfunctional and toxic, but it somehow works for them, which makes it even more fascinating to read.
and noah... yeah. he's a psychopath. if the first book didn't make that abundantly clear, this one certainly does. what i particularly loved is that he isn't the romanticised version of a psychopath that we so often get in dark romance. he's unapologetically controlling, manipulative, possessive, and genuinely alarming. there is no tragic backstory conveniently explaining why he became this way, no attempt to excuse his behaviour, and no "he only kills because he loves too much" bullshit. he kills because he enjoys it. he's impulsive, he likes having control, and that's just who he is. honestly, THANK YOU. it's so refreshing to read a character whose actions aren't constantly softened or justified for the sake of making him more palatable.
i could genuinely write an entire fucking dissertation psychoanalysing these two because their characterisation is so interesting to me. the author's note at the end was also something i really appreciated, especially because she explained the reasoning behind certain choices, and honestly, i agreed with it 100%.
my only real complaint is that this felt much more slice-of-life than plot-heavy, and i would've preferred a little more direction and maybe fewer time jumps. but weirdly, i didn't care as much as i probably should have because i was so invested in noah and chase as characters. this felt less like a traditional story and more like watching a psychological case study unfold between two deeply fucked-up people in a relationship that should absolutely not work... but somehow does.
and honestly? i could read a THIRD book that is just noah and chase existing, being codependent, psychologically destroying each other, and doing whatever the fuck it is they do. i don't even need a complicated plot anymore. just give me these two. i'm fascinated by them.
4.5⭐️ After the Chase is the sequel to Craving the Chase. This is also set after the events from the Kozlov Bodyguards series, so it might help to read those before diving into this book. Noah and Chase have been traveling and doing whatever they want. Mainly, Noah finds reasons to kill people who even look at Chase and Chase tries desperately not to be aroused by the attention. After news of his Mother’s death, Noah takes Chase back to the States to settle affairs and see what was left to him. Turns out his father was funneling money to a gang in NY. This turned into the perfect opportunity to set some roots down in one place where Noah can get his fix. Chase, along for the ride, is just pleased he will be in the same city as his brother. Noah and Chase now navigate living in one area where they are surrounded by two gangs who want Noah’s specialty and attention.
This was, while dark and twisted, a rather light book with low angst. (Warning a character, not a MC in this book, does get injured but most of the POV is done by Noah who isn’t attached so I would still say it’s low angst) Noah is just as twisted and unhinged and utterly obsessed with Chase. Chase tries to pretend he still has a conscious but is addicted to Noah’s sole attention. He gets off to Noah stalking him and killing/torturing for him. He definitely knows their relationship is toxic but he does nothing to stop it. He even loves when they are isolated from the world and it’s just him and Noah. I would never recommend this relationship in a real life situation, but in this fantasy world, yaaasssssss!!!!!!!! Noah’s need to claim Chase and to hurt anyone who could potentially be a threat is hot. I also ADORE the one sided bromance between Noah and Ivan!! They are so adorable!!!!! Now, this was definitely meant to bridge a bunch of the characters from separate series into one (like we see Ethan and Leo from What Would It Cost as well). I rated this high mostly for the fact that I love these characters and this world but I can admit that if this was the first work from Syn I would have read i would have rated this a lot lower. While the characters would still be compelling and the sex would be hot, the story was choppy and had no big direction. Knowing the purpose of getting everyone in the same city, made this more enjoyable and less confusing but I would understand why someone just jumping in might not be as happy with this book. You definitely need to have read the rest of Syn’s books to appreciate this one!!! I am so excited for more!!! 😘

When I say I’ve been waiting a lifetime for this book, I MEANT IT. Noah and Chase are my favorite toxic husbands, hands down. To say I devoured this book is an understatement.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 (rounding up to 4) Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
It was so great to dive back into Chase and Noah’s world, their toxic little bubble of isolation and obsession. But now it’s ramped up to whole new levels because they’re finally married. Noah’s ideal to own Chase on every level is complete.
It was very interesting reading more about Noah’s psychopathy. In the previous installment, we saw alot of perspectives from Chase and how he viewed Noah, while this time around we spent some time in Noah’s head. And as usual, the man lives for two things: Chase and blood.
I enjoyed some aspects of Chase’s journaling, but at times it felt a little repetitive. I think the term ‘therapy mind/brain’ was used too many times and brought me out of the scene. The core concept of Chase making a case study of Noah is great, I just wish it was executed slightly better and more believable.
I also feel like Noah was a little too cold this time around. In the previous book he at least tried to comfort Chase and often did that thing where he rubbed his back. This time he felt a little snappy and less talkative. But also Noah definitely leaned into his ways harder this time around.
Watching Chase descend into the darkness was fascinating. Who knew he had it in him? You’d never think so because of his stance in the last book. The Stockholm Syndrome is real, for sure.
Aaaand we got to see the Kozlovs and their guards! I swear, they all crack me up so hard. Dima seems to be the one that always has a headache and tries to be professional, while Lev is a hot head and Ivan is the psycho golden retriever. Not to mention Aaron who is just…Aaron. Seriously love all of them, and as a group? Hilarious. I think some of my favorite parts were when Ivan was calling Noah his bestie. Noah being legit afraid of hugs made me laugh so hard😂
Overall, I enjoyed this sequel but also feel like it could have been shortened a bit and still be as impactful and tie everyone back into the Blackrose/Kozlov world. The first book will always be my fave because of the whole predator/prey aspect, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading about my boys again. I’m so excited for the next book about the Blackrose Saints!
Thank you so much to the author for kindly providing the ARC, Noah and Chase are one of my favorite couples and I was so excited to go back and read about the continuation and new chapter of their relationship :)
If you love dark romances and I mean DARK, you can’t go wrong with Syn. She just doesn’t hold back when it comes to writing about possessive, obsessive and psycho men (my favorite kind of men in books) and never wishy washy on the characters with excuses of having redeeming qualities at the end.
This is what I love about Noah! He’s just the worst but he’s so hot 😈 lol he’s truly a psychopath and will never change, if anything, in this book he’s even worse. He’s more obsessed with Chase, and will kill anybody that looks at him or even breathes too close. The way the author describes him is just so amazing because I was really scared and I do LOVE Noah like he’s one of my book boyfriends but in this book he was truly evil and sometimes I was damn he’s freaking scary but at the same time he’s giving me butterflies haha.
On the other hand, we have Chase who I truly believed has changed a lot in this book. He’s too far gone for Noah and lives and breathes only for him. I did feel a disconnect with him and Tyler and it was kind of sad because he loves his brother! But I felt that he couldn’t care less about him in this book, Noah is the only one who has a place in his mind and heart, even during and after Tyler’s accident I felt Chase was all about Noah and I would have preferred a little bit more bonding time between him and Tyler but I guess Noah wouldn’t allow this because that would mean too much time spent away from his man.
So yeah, Chase has changed a lot and it took me by surprise that almost every time Noah was killing someone Chase got a boner lmfao! I was expecting him to start killing too, but I’m glad Syn didn’t go down that route.
I wish the book was longer :( I just love Noah and Chase so much and could read about them for hours, and I was so bummed when I finished! But I’ll keep begging Syn for a third book.
I can't wait to read about the Blackrose Saints series and do a reread of all Syn’s men!!

Getting back into Chase and Noah story, I will not stop loving another book from Syn, they always bring it and I ate this book up. This was absolutely good to me. I finally get to see another side of Chase side in the story , after reading book one . But this one is during their travel while they are on their honeymoon. Get to see even more crazy and unhinged stuff when it comes to them both.
The fact that Chase got to see Noah more in his element was such a good vibe that I love in the fact that he was not ashamed of who he was that he knew what he was getting himself into when he married him and how the pieces just fall together and how good it has been this book was crazy and I loved it. It was a vibe. It was unhinged it was unapologetic.
I love everything about this, and the spice was spicy. It still was a balance of getting to know them both after when they got married and moving forward and all the pieces in the books from her previous have lined up with this book . I was definitely happy how the book ended. I am sad that it’s over but I know that there’s gonna be more in the future . Definitely was happy to see all the characters from the other books play apart in it and again they all did a phenomenal job. I was kicking and screaming to see everyone that I have read in her previous books and could not stop smiling definitely was a vibe. I will say I did get a thrill of reading this book. I had a smile on my face through the whole book, and that says a lot about my character because I’m never not satisfied with an MM dark romance that hits the right level of what I like and again this book brings it to me each time.
Overall, this was an amazing story and I’m so happy.
I had an amazing time reading this and I will never not stop loving SYN’s books. I am definitely a fan as always, and I’m definitely happy that I got the opportunity to read this book as an ARC definite looking forward to reading the next one in the near future and overall I loved.
Hold onto your panties, because Noah and Chase are back and they are more unhinged, obsessive, and toxically in love than ever! After The Chase by Syn Blackrose is a dark, intoxicating, and mind-bendingly hot continuation that had me completely addicted from page one! If you thought their dynamic was twisted in book one, get ready, because watching an ex-therapist document his own glorious descent into his psychopathic husband's darkness is pure, unadulterated perfection!
This book picks up with Chase and Noah traveling the world as newlyweds, but this is far from a normal honeymoon. Chase is no longer just observing Noah with clinical precision; he is writing secret journals, questioning his sanity, and willingly drowning in Noah's suffocating possession! Meanwhile, Noah's stalkerish, "every breath you take" by the police levels of possessiveness are on full display, anyone who even thinks about threatening his hold on chase simply ceases to exist. When they head back to New York to team up with the Kozlov family, it turns into the ultimate chaotic, murderous family reunion, and Chase stops fighting the shadows and officially makes a home inside them. Chase's internal conflict was so delicious to read! Watching a clinical therapist rationalize his husband's brutal killings while falling deeper into orchestrated isolation and toxic co-dependency was incredible. He isn't running from the monster, he’s reveling in belonging to him! Noah takes "if I can't have you, nobody can" to a whole new level! His stalker tendencies whenever Chase leaves his sight were equal parts scorching hot and hilarious. He doesn't love like a normal person; he owns, controls, and marks his territory with zero apologies.
Getting cameos from the Kozlov universe (including glimpses of my faves dima & seb and ethan & leo!) added the absolute best layer of chaotic energy, sharp banter, and bloody violence. There is nothing better than a family of obsessive killers banding together, even if Noah absolutely hates every second of social interaction with anyone besides with chase! I was so hopelessly obsessed with these two unhinged men, the ending felt like a “happy for now,” so I have a suspicion we may be getting more in this chaotic universe of psycho men! (Syn give me more please!!!) While the plot is quick and serves up endless steam, high emotional tension, and dark romance goodness, I definitely wouldn't say no to another book in this universe to see what trouble they get into next. But as a follow-up to their initial chase, watching Chase fully surrender his sanity to become Noah's willing captive was absolutely gloriously everything! Chase your kindle down and pick this up expeditiously when it releases on August 12th.

This is Book 2 for Chase and Noah. You absolutely need to read book 1 Craving The Chase before you read book 2 they are not standalones! These are also on the darker side so make sure you check the TWs.
🌶🌶🌶🌶
I'm so glad we got another Chase and Noah story! You get to see them a bit in the Bodyguards series but here we really get to see how Chase is adapting to his life with Noah after everything from book 1. Chase is not blind to Noah's darker side but he uses his clinical mind to rationalize it. Noah's obsession is the way he shows love and doing absolutely whatever he needs to in order to keep Chase safe is just another layer to that. Seeing Chase's mind work through some of the events put a different spin on this and I loved getting his POV.
"You're becoming what I am." "No, I just complement you. Nobody can become like you, Noah. You’re unique with no cure."
Now is Chase and Noah's relationship still toxic OH YEAH and the Codependency is next level on BOTH sides but here these two work somehow. Chase doesn't try to change Noah, there is no "I can fix him" here. He just generally accepts Noah and tries to understand him.
"You're good for each other," he says finally. "You and Noah. It's rare to see that kind of... synthesis." "Synthesis?" "A merger of two people into something new. Something that couldn't exist separately." Ivan's smile is knowing. "It's beautiful, in a deeply f*cked up way."
This was a great opening for the Blackrose Saints MC which I know pushed this book. The Saints are tied in with the Kozlov businesses and are now being funded by Noah. We saw them in WWIC for a bit but we get more here. Marcus had me intrigued in both books and I can't wait for that series now!

No one writes possessive unhinged men like Syn Blackrose. I was so excited to read more about Chase and Noah and I knew how much I’d love this book after getting chills after reading the prologue.
Noah is probably the most unhinged man I have ever had the pleasure of reading about🥵. He is so possessive and it just gets worse now that they are married. Although Chase is no longer a therapist he still wants to understand his husband so he starts to journal his observations about his behavioral patterns. As he assesses his husband he notices the changes in himself- his extreme dependency and moral corruption. He continues to question his own sanity but ultimately knows he is so in love with Noah nothing else matters. The spice between these two characters is literally so magnetic. The obsession is so real.
This is a dark mm romance about obsession, devotion, ownership and acceptance. Unlike other psychopaths Noah does not hide behind a mask. Chase accepts him for who he is and doesn’t try to change him and although alarming it is also very beautiful. He loves this man and accepts who he is and he is utterly devoted to him. To feel seen by someone is so powerful and After the Chase highlights that so beautifully.
It was not only thrilling to see the evolution of their relationship and characters but also so enthralling. The way Syn Blackrose connects all of their books was everything I could have asked for and more. This was such a devastating toxic love story between a psychopath and a man who truly accepts him. If you like possessive obsessive men you need to read about Chase and Noah 🖤
Ivan and Noah crack me up 🤣
Syn Blackrose is one of my favorite authors and to have read and recieved this arc I am so grateful. Thank you so much 🫶🖤🥹

“ this is what I want. He is understanding what I am and what I´ll always do to shield what´s mine.”
This is fkn awesome, I literally couldn’t put it down, I guess I’m just as obsessed as them Give me more of them another 1000 books!
What I loved the most was that Syn didn’t change Noah it was full Dark romance, just crazy Noah, he didn’t change his core, he didn’t regret anything he just went even full crazy like in a very comfortable way 🤭
Speaking of if you think Noah was just a crazy psycho well think again cuz in this one he’s on full potential SK and way more unhinged and of course I loved it!!
It was very interesting to see how their dynamics were changing since now they have to be like together 100% of the time, and it didn’t disappoint
The change that Chase went through was unexpected but in a good way, I really never thought he had that dark side inside him haha so it was pretty cool that and the fact that he was even trying to understand/study why Noah was the way he was and Noah happy presenting the facts and some pictures in name of research of course
Their entire dyamic with the Kozlovs and the Blackrose MC´s (great what you did there btw haha 10/10) was interesting and fkn funny hahaha Ivan is just obsessed with this new bestie
AND THE SPICE, DAMN FKN HOT 🥵
I really can’t wait for what’s next, even if we don’t get another Chase/Noah book I’ll be happy just seeing glimpses of them in the other books hahaha just gimme something pleeease !!
What about a novella hahaha Loving the Chase 😂…ok I´ll stop
Thank you, Jordan and Syn for an opportunity to read this AMAZING arc. This is my honest Review
AFTER THE CHASE This has to be read after Craving The Chase.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶🌶
WOAH!! the spice ....is explosive between Chase and Noah. I am here for it.
I love the this author , she has such a natural style and the way she writes keeps you in engaged to the very end. Whether it be with humor, the spice, or the intensity of each action that Noah performs.
And Chase too. 🤔🫣😈
Which is a little intimidating 🤔
I inhaled this book like it was my next breath to breathe. I love the way this author gives what we want in each of the characters.
Chase. The Psychiatrist knowing what he knows drom Noah. The deepths he is willing to go even know he knows. Still stays..
The push and pull between them..
Noah. Psychopath. He has no emotions but yet he still in his own way is there for Chase. Shadow.
The way she includes all the characters from previous books. Like for instance
Aaron and Kia.. my laughing moment🤣 This is embarrassing,” Kai says, turning his back to walk away. “Not as embarrassing as those hickies, Uncle fucker,” Aaron goads
Moments like this that she puts in the book.
Noah! I missed my partner in crime." Noah stares him down, which would intimidate most people, but Ivan just grins at him with his eyes sparkling. He is crushing hard on Noah like he is some kind of super hero. “Not chatty today? That’s fine,”
Cause how irritating Ivan can be.. Hero worshipping..😊🤭
You definitely need to read the story between Noah and Chase to understand this one; otherwise, it might not make much sense. For the best experience, I recommend reading all the books in order.
This book continues the increasingly twisted relationship between Chase and Noah, with Chase becoming more fascinated by Noah's "additional activities." What started as observation slowly becomes something much more, documenting how much Chase himself has changed around Noah.
Noah, meanwhile, seems more unhinged than ever, wanting to keep Chase safely isolated in their own little world where no one else can pose a threat. Their dynamic remains intense, obsessive, and increasingly difficult to separate from everything happening around them.
Every character from the previous books makes an appearance, which helps set the stage for the new series. For me, this isn't the best book of them all. I know there was no plan for a sequel to their story, and some parts felt a little forced, but I can understand why this book was necessary. It works as a bridge between the previous books and what's coming next, tying together characters and storylines while pushing Chase and Noah's relationship into an even darker place.
And honestly, Ivan and Noah's banter remains one of the best parts. Those two are the definition of besties.
I can't wait for the Blackrose MC series and to see what Syn has in store for us.
I didn't know it was possible, but Noah became even more possessive and obsessive in this book.
Chase can't go anywhere without Noah stalking him or being with him. He doesn't even like people acknowledging him. Chase has to ask for permission to do what he wants and gives the power to Noah to say no. I'm honestly surprised he's not making Chase wear a collar with his name on it.
The first half of this book was very slow and kind of hard to get into. It mostly focused on Chase's "corruption" and how his feelings toward Noah's nature evolve. I understand that it was necessary, but that part felt like a filler.
Once they joined the Kozlov, it became a lot more interesting. Ivan's desperate attempts to become Noah's best friend were funny as hell.
I loved seeing more of Noah and Chase, and the changing dynamics of their relationship. Chase is balancing his denial of Noah's brutality and willingness to kill everyone he deems a threat, against his clinical observations and the need to understand Noah's behaviour. Chase is drowning in a toxic co-dependency and orchestrated isolation, but he is a willing captive to the darkness and starting to embrace and enjoy Noah's dangerous world. I loved the inclusion of the Kozlovs and other characters from the series and how it makes a chaotic and murderous family reunion, with all the fun banter and violence you'd expect from these obsessive men. Noah is determined to keep Chase safe, and definitely takes possessiveness to an intense and darker level, and with the help of his newly inherited influence he gets to express his killer rage on plenty of deserving victims that threaten Chase's safety. It's dark, spicy, intense and addictive.
"Somewhere along the line, I stopped studying the darkness and started making a home inside it"
"I feel safe with a psycho killer"
"I'm falling deeper into darkness with him, and I don't want to be saved. I just want to fall deeper"
It was really intersting to dive more into Chase's thoughts. How he processed everything. His words really put in to perspective how it is to be completely consumed and changed by a psychopath like Noah.
We got to see how little by little Chase changed himself. Although he may have always had a small part in him that was hidden and Noah just helped his true self come through easier. His morals slowly started to change, he started being more accepting, watching and an even bigger enabler.
While they may be chaotic and completely unhinged, this group of people are a family. Ask any one of them and they would deny it, but that’s what they are. They look out for each other and are there in their own crazy, messed up way.
We got more of the Blackrose Saints and the new series direction a little. I really can’t wait to dive in to the MC/Mafia world with even more crazy unhinged men.

Thank you Syn for giving the opportunity to ArC this 💚
This was so good. I really enjoy how this wrapped up the story of Chase and Noah
There's no saving this man. Chase is exactly where he wants to be. There's no saving this man.
I really liked the fact that the author never tried to redempt Noah. He is exactly what he is and you had a choice to either love him like that or let it be. When it comes to Noah, it's a take it or leave a situation, and take it, Chase did 🤭🤭.
Some of my favorite moments were Noah, realizing that Ethan is just like him and not really sure what to do with that.
I would have really enjoyed to see Leo and and chase exchanged notes about their psycho husbands😂😂
Another fav of mine was Chase and Tyler's relationship. It was nice to see them maneuver knowing they're both with these very problematic men, and trying and failing to hold on to their humanity.
Syn did a bang up job job nicely wrapping up their story and I'm excited to see how this bridges into the next serie.
But if there ever is a third book, maybe like marriage in distress or something like that I would eat that up.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
After The Chase is the sequel to Craving The Chase. This dark MM romance story is about Chase and Noah.
I loved that we got to see Noah and Chase’s story continue. They take us on a new journey as husbands and it was certainly interesting to see how their lives played out.
Noah was still unhinged and even more possessive. Chase was no longer a therapist, but his professional case notes of Noah transform into journaling. He documents their marriage and his obsession with Noah. Although it was intriguing to see how Chase felt, I did feel like the journaling got a bit repetitive. It definitely was interesting to see how Chase started to embrace and commit to Noah and his world.
Noah and Chase return to New York to help the Kozlov family and the Blackrose Saints. There of course was violence and murder, but what I really enjoyed was their banter. Noah’s interactions with Ivan had me cracking up. It was great being back in this world, and I can’t wait for more of these Mafia and MC men.
I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.
Good god have I missed Noah! Like MISSED him and his OTT unhinged possessiveness of Chase.
This freaking book had me laughing, fanning myself and squirming (sometimes all 3… at the same time).
You think the Kozlov brothers and their bodyguards are unhinged and ruthless? Noah just looked at them straight in their eyes, unblinking and says, “hold my beer” 🤣🤣
Truly, this book was absolute mayhem in the best way! I am so freaking glad Syn decided to give them a second book, even if theoretically it was needed to continue the “Kozlov world” blah blah blah… we all know Noah is everyone’s favorite psychopath and Syn was just chomping at the bit to get them another book. 😏
Did I mention I absolutely freaking LOVED IT?! 🤣
I cannot wait to continue reading in this world and seeing more of the “Gossip Group” aka Aaron, Seb, Tyler & Kai. It is seriously the BEST time!
P.S. Ivan will get that hug. Even if Noah is unconscious. It will happen.
Thank you Syn Blackrose for an early look at this book. This review is entirely my own.
Noah and Chase are back. Noah is the same touch him, look at him, think about him and die. The same don't let Chase out of his sight unless he is sleeping or with his brother psychopath. Chase on the other hand is still the same but you can see the changes in him. To Noah, Chase is evolving and to Chase...well his journals have never gotten so much use (even when he had patients). This book is dark and at times will have you questioning everything you thought you knew about Chase and Noah. From start to finish you are immersed in their toxic relationship but you don't want to look away. You want to keep reading about these two and find out just how far they will go. I love how this author writes these all the red flags men and the men that love them. They have a way of delving into the dark side and having cookies so we want to stay, curl up and never leave. We get a deeper look into, not just Noah and Chase, but their relationships (or not relationships if you ask Noah) with Tyler, Ivan and the rest. Once I started the book, I didn't want to stop. I can't wait to see more of these characters.
