Luke arrives in Seagull Bay with his 10 year old Evie for a fresh start after a split from his wife, who is still on good terms with. Veronica starts a new ghost tour business in the bay, and one of the main attractions is "The Lantern" the new home that Luke has purchased to renovate and open a guest house. Luke had seen it on one of his family trips to Seagull Bay, and thought it was a good place to start over with Evie. Veronica and Luke have words over The Lantern being part of her tour and it causes bad blood between them. They are attracted to each other and this does not make it easier between them. The paper gets wind of The Lantern being reopened and write their own story and Laura the writer gives Veronica the chance to proofread it and make changes but she decided to leave it as is. Once Luke reads the story after it is published he is fuming mad about the whole thing. Veronica has put herself in a very bad position and then she decides to fix the situation. She has one of the articles that the paper wrote, edited and she posts her own side on her Facebook business page and Luke reads it and is starting to feel better about the whole situation, Luke throws a small get together for the people that came to help him get The Lantern up and running. Luke and Veronica make amends and they couldn't be happier. I highly recommend this book, I really enjoyed the story!.
