**This is Part 1 of a triology. The story continues in Being Home where more is revealed of this story. It concludes in Staying Home ** Liza Diamond tries to go back home now that everyone thinks she has been dead for ten years. She discovers that the beauty of the small town of Walkersville still conceals a seamy underbelly of low-level intrigue, secrets, and lies. Liza herself is telling a few lies, the biggest of which is that her return is not driven by a desire for revenge. Her return is all about revenge for a love gone very wrong. This is part one of a series about life, intrigue, and gossip in a small New England town where society's rules and roles are set by family histories. Being Home is Part 2 of the Walkersville series. Staying Home is Part 3.
I wished someone had warned me - this book ends in a cliffhanger. Multiple characters, multiple subplots - a bit too confusing and then when you plow through you are rewarded with a cliffhanger (sigh)
Going Home is a well written story and enjoyed every minute of reading. The characters in the story each have their own individual stories but they all have a part to the development of the overall story. I would love to continue reading the books in this series just to see how the story ends.
Really poor editing but if you don't mind rereading for spelling and gender errors it's pretty good. Liza went back to the town where she was born after having left 10 years ago and everyone, including her mother thought she was dead.
