Emerald's Path

Rate this book
Holding on to a vision God had given her, Emerald Keith spent her days working at an art museum and her weekends immersed in church activities with her best friend, Sunshine. When God suddenly commanded Emerald to ‘be still’ after a car accident, she had no choice but to sit all the way down. What she didn’t know was that in her stillness and her Job season, God was planning to answer all of her prayers and give her double for all of her trouble.

Former NBA superstar, Jeremiah Addison, knew God’s purpose for his life was more than basketball. He’d been team MVP multiple times, but when he suffered a career ending injury, Jeremiah knew it was time. It was time for him to submit himself to God and be the man he was called to be.

Leaving his hometown of Detroit to take up residence in the Baltimore area for a new business venture blessed Jeremiah with more than he could have ever imagined. He’d found his purpose in life, and her name was Emerald Keith.

Jeremiah was head over heels for the woman that captured his heart. She was the woman that God had designed just for him. But will a constant series of events tear them apart?

In my opinion this book is a strong 3.8 star book. I’m trying not to sound so judgmental but I didn’t like that the book ended on a cliffhanger nor the cliffhanger itself. Sunshine’s supposed first husband, Craig, was tracking her mom’s car with an AirTag and now he’s on the way to the restaurant with a gun to make her return to him after hiding from him for two years. This book seems more on the urban fiction than Christian fiction side in my opinion. I won’t be reading the next book because some aspects of this book doesn’t align with the Christian journey that I’m currently on like drinking and living together before marriage. Jeremiah was a multimillionaire and could have easily rented a place for Emerald rather than living together. The drinking….Wine today is what the Bible refers to as strong drink. Two couples marry and Joshua is a youth pastor but no one feels the need for premarital counseling through their church? I do like the fact that they prayed for each other often and there was any relations going down in the book.

A heartfelt story about faith, love, and trusting that the right person will find you at the right time.

Overall Thoughts:
Dee Lasure is a new-to-me author, and I’m so grateful I discovered her work. This story left me with such a warm, hopeful feeling. The kind that reminds you of the beauty of faith, love, and divine timing. Jeremiah will quickly become your next book boyfriend: a man of faith, discernment, intention, and protection. He’s the kind of character who leads with love and shows up when it matters most.

Book Overview:
We follow Emerald (28) as she navigates one of the most challenging storms of her life. Despite everything happening around her, she continues to hold onto her faith, trusting that God is ordering her steps toward healing, victory, and a love she never saw coming.

Jeremiah (30), a former NBA player, is at a point in life where he’s ready to settle down. Through his faith, he believes God has revealed that Emerald is the missing piece he has been waiting for. When Emerald’s world changes dramatically within the space of 48 hours, Jeremiah steps in, not just as someone who listens, but as her safe place, her support system, her protector, and the person determined to remind her that she is not alone.

This was a beautiful reminder that even when life feels uncertain and overwhelming, God can create a path filled with purpose, restoration, and unexpected blessings. A heartfelt story about faith, love, and trusting that the right person will find you at the right time.

A Beautiful Story of Faith, Love, and God's Grace

I have to admit, I'm not an avid reader. It takes a truly special book to capture my attention from the very first page. But when I learned that Dee LaSure had written another book, I didn't hesitate, I had to read it. I'm so thankful I did.
Emeralds Path is a captivating page-turner that drew me in and held my attention until the very end. Dee LaSure masterfully tells a heartfelt story that serves as a beautiful reminder that God's hand is always at work, even through life's most difficult and unexpected circumstances. The journey of two people in love demonstrates that although challenges may come, God can strengthen, restore, and bless a union according to His perfect plan.
The characters felt real, the emotions were authentic, and I found myself rooting for them every step of the way. This wasn't just a love story, it was a story of faith, hope, perseverance, and trusting God when the path ahead isn't clear.
Dee LaSure has once again proven herself to be a gifted storyteller. I wasn't disappointed by any means. In fact, she exceeded my expectations. I eagerly look forward to reading her next book and every one she writes after that.
If you're looking for an inspiring book that will make you laugh, reflect, hope, and believe that love and faith can overcome life's obstacles, I highly recommend Emeralds Path. You won't be disappointed.
I hope Dee LaSure continues sharing her incredible gift of storytelling. I'll certainly be first in line to read whatever she writes next.
Love ya,
AG

🌟❤️ Faith, Friendship, and Forever ❤️

I really enjoyed Jeremiah and Emerald’s story. 💕 Emerald’s life was turned completely upside down overnight, and it seemed like everything that could go wrong did. 😔

Jeremiah was literally and figuratively a God-send. 🙏🏽 He stepped in and allowed God to guide him as he helped Emerald through one of the most difficult seasons of her life. I’m glad Emerald accepted the blessing and support that was sent her way. 💚 Their journey helped them become more open to love and all the possibilities that came with it. ❤️

I also loved the friendships in this story! 🤗 The supporting characters made me want to learn more about them as well. From the way this book ended, I just know Sunshine and Joshua’s story is up next, and I can’t wait! ☀️💞

📚✨ Amazing read! Highly recommend! 💕👏🏽⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It took me a min to get into the flow with this book, but once I got into it I had to keep going!

Admittedly, Jeremiah felt too intense for me but the sentiments of his actions were so sweet and thoughtful.

I fell for Sunshine and Joshua so ofc I have to read the next book. I love how this mixes in romance with some drama. I also loved how Dee mixed in biblical references and scripture with the culture of today’s time. Excited to see where the series takes these characters.

This book was a refreshing change for what I normally read, Emerald went through the storm but kept her faith. The building relationship with her new man from her mother craziness she stayed strong in her faith. 1st book from this writer I look forward to more.
